I remember watching it 20 yrs ago! Really great fighting too! Yeah! They did a spectacular job with it actually. For such a near- offensive concept they knocked it out of the park without negatively exploiting the stars. I was trying to think of another one to put on, but I can't remember the title. It was a shaw brothers film, and in the last scene the hero is dressed in white and slaughters a ton of guys on a bridge, but gets beaten and captured then his enemies draw and quarter him. It ends with wild horses running off dragging the hero's body parts. Does that ring a bell for anyone? I just can't think of the title for the life of me.
onetrueblade Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 (edited) Once upon a time in China 1,2,3 - all by Jet Li I had this typed all the way up to "Upon a" when I saw you already put it on here. I have a worn vhs of the first. I didn't find the other ones. I could probably do that easily on ebay or amazon or whatever, but you know how it goes..... Edited October 12, 2007 by onetrueblade

Thanks for the heads up.No problem. Since Jet Li is kinda stepping away form the martial arts genre do you think Jason Statham is going to step up as the new main martial arts action star?
Lucandrake Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 No but he should have been Agent 47. Not this dude whose only image I have of is "Girl Next Door".

That would be neat. As long as they get a good screenwriter. I like Statham, but I couldn't enjoy a movie like say...transporter 2 without being distracted by clunky plot stuff. I love the gunfights and brawling and all, but I need the story, too. (Plus the driving stuff was ridiculous.) So, in short- I think He could pull it off, plus I think the studios want to keep him in that kind of mode. Time will tell, but I think we could see many more people getting kicked in the face by god old Jason very soon.
onetrueblade Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 (edited) I'm trying to remember the name of this one movie that featured a ninja that attacks by barfing and a fight against a watermellon monster. Also, if you don't care about plot or don't get ennoyed by matrix ripoff costumes, check out versus. Edited October 16, 2007 by onetrueblade
Shibathedog Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I was actually disappointed by WAR. I watched it yesterday. The storyline was good, but the movie itself was kinda meh. Which sucks because i was really excited to see it.
