All i need is the ability to record whatever is my computer screen, sound and all. Oh,One problem, dont have a camera! So is there a way i can do this without the use of a camera?
Shoma Posted May 12, 2007 Author Posted May 12, 2007 if it has anything to do with a game try gamecamKeeps talking about quake.... Or maybe thats just an example..
Shoma Posted May 12, 2007 Author Posted May 12, 2007 (edited) Camtasia should also do it.Will be able to work decently on the trail version? Edited May 12, 2007 by Shoma
Gryph Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 I doubt it. You could try CamStudio if you want something free.

Shoma Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 Okay, thanks! Now one more question, when i got the file recorded, its all choppy and stuff.I heard that you have to compress it or something like that in order for it to play smoothe. I'm not sure because my cpu is pretty crappy it could be the cpu's fault but i was told that i might need a compressor or encoder?I'm not sure!
ken_cinder Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Compressing it won't "smooth it". If it's stuttering from the original file, it will be stuttering in the compressed file. What codec did you use to record in the first place? To save on processing while recording, you should be using something like raw frames, also known as Uncompressed RGB/YCrCb. After that, you can take your file into something like VirtualDub and compress it with a codec like DivX/XviD. Oh and Glitch, I think Rawrthness' signature is within acceptable limits. It's larger than most, but not huge, and all the images only come to a total of 44kb. Even if you're on dialup, it wouldn't take long to load.
