btw, by 3d coding, do you mean engine coding or game coding?

it differs btw.

Engine is optional, we can use our school one or use free ones on the net. So, we need to code the game and graphics.

then my suggestion.

USE AN ENGINE

is there a certain coding lanaguage you must use?

It all has to be done in Python. The entire thing.

then use a python based engine...

try panda3d

or go to devmaster.net and check the engines there.

but trust me, DO NOT attempt to create your own engine, if the final product should be a functional game (not a functional engine)

the only thing you would need to attract me to it is a very very good pvp system :P get that and im in

It's in C++, OpenGL and glut.

dude, panda 3d uses python for scripting.

regardless, check devmaster and find a good freeware engine....

it'll help you out ALOT.

Thanks for the url. BTW, do you have any suggestions on which one(s) to use? I click on the OpenGL section, there are like 100 plus and I'm not sure what I really need.

hmm, when i was doing my research i wasn't really looking for python engines....

i know torque has python bindings, but it's for money....

alot of people swear by panda3d

Blender Game Engine is decent.

delta3d is decent looking.

Try the Advanced Search out and specify exactly what you neeed.

you'd hafta do more research though.... hope that helps.

re-create Ninja Golf for the Atari 7800 - It's an instant win

Do it.

Actually, in this case, best use an engine and just code the bare theories you have, completeing a whole game is a whole different task, and I just make sounds.

Use the Quake 3 engine, it's been GPL'd.

Actually, pay no attention to me, I know nothing about programming or game engines besides the marketing bullet points.
