GodPigeon Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Ive never used Thunderbird nor outlook so i decided to try out thunderbird because of all the recomendations. Sorry if this is a n00b question but what would i put as the incoming server and the outgoing server??
Shibathedog Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 you have to get it from your ISP/email provider, its usually just mail.ISPWEBSITE.com but it could be different i like thunderbird i use it as my email client
Mooney Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 If you use Gmail, I'm pretty sure you can get a tool that will auto-configure Thunderbird for you.

Weirdy Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Yahoo's mail service should provide instructions if you look under a help menu or something. A topic to look for would be "POP Access." Btw, hotmail doesn't allow POP access.

Shibathedog Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Yeah go with gmail I think you can set up yahoo to foward all your emails automatically, so set it up to foward all your email to your new gmail, and then use that

ken_cinder Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 I use my Hotmail account with Thunderbird. I use a little app that runs in the background called HotPop.Only works with older Hotmail accounts though, any accounts created after MS instituted their automatic account inactivity deletion, won't work. Oh and btw, I HAD a Gmail account but I lost everything awhile back in a system wipe. It was rather new, and I couldn't remember the details. Seems Google deleted it. Anyone have an invitation for me?
Jitway Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Search on google for a program called YPOPS run that and you will be able to use thunderbird to access you email account.
