macrocubic Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Well done! I'm looking foward to use, when I get my MK3 I've read a lot about this, but I'm spanish and as there are no pictures anywhere I cant solve them. Is this a tool, that allow you control your windows pc with a fullscreen view in the top screen, and a keyboard+mouse+ zoomed screen in the touch one?If so, Is the quality the same as in the monitor? I mean, the colours and resolution (of course when its zommed)If so, Can I open a video in WMP and see it in the DS in a high quality display (no matter the frames, I mean the coloures, pixels...)
idbirch Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Hmmm, this version is completely broken for me. All the previous versions have worked fine but its the new "mouse in zoomed view" feature that's the problem. I can connect to the PC fine and move the mouse around on the bottom screen just fine too. I then press R to get my zoomed view on the bottom screen but then when I put the stylus to the screen, the mouse cursor jumps to a location nowhere near the zoomed area and gets stuck there. CPU usgage then jumps to around 50% and it has an 'episode'. I have to turn the DS off and back on again to regain control.
LargePig Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Similar issues only mine won't stay zoomed to an area and keeps snapping back to top left.Same cpu madness too
Sintax Posted February 14, 2006 Author Posted February 14, 2006 Eggh, alright, I'll look into it and probably have it fixed tomorrow.
idbirch Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Hi Sintax, sorry to be the one to say this but the new version isn't much better. CPU usage is hella-bad compared to the 1-2% usage of Win2DS 0.3 and prior and I still can't control the mouse cursor using the zoomed view Mouse control on the full desktop view works, although this is very unresponsive due to the server program battering the CPU so much (in task manager it is using 50%). My CPU is a 2.8GHz Prescott P4 with HT so it looks like its completely maxing out 1 thread of the 2 available. I love this program though and I very much appreciate all the hard work you must be putting into it! Thanks!
Sintax Posted February 15, 2006 Author Posted February 15, 2006 The new version I just uploaded shouldn't do that any more. Even then though, it only peaks out at around 10% on my computer. Redownload and tell me if it still does it, but I don't know why it would. Usage tends to go up if you put it on the fastest setting for screenshots, but other than that it should be fine.

When I re-extracted the server.exe to my PC and the.nds file to my SD card all the attributes were exactly the same. Not sure why it works OK for you but here's all my details if it helps: PC:P4 Prescott 2.8GHz clocked @ 3.0GHzAbit AI7 mobo1GB Dual DDR 400WinXP MCE 2005 NDS:UK DS with Supercard SDFlashMe 5Supercard firmware: 1.60 Version 0.3 worked great and CPU usage was very low. I have not changed any of the speed settings in Win2DS on the DS side so update speed is Normal for both. Cheers.
sto Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 (edited) Tried it with my Nintendo WGC data (which is working well, on Mario Kart for example), connected to the AP, but couldn't manage to connect to the server. My AP forwards the port 8888 to the server PC, my Windows Firewall doesn't block the server application... So my question is: "Is WEP encryption enabled?". Edit: tried to shut down WiFi encryption, and I have my answer: WEP is not supported... But! I can't connect to the server: Server opened on port 8888.Connection accepted from 192.168.1.7.Client timed out.Can you tell me why? Edited February 15, 2006 by sto
fischju Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Opera for ds uses the same basic layout......i think your getting sued!
greyfox123 Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 he cannot be sued because he was the first to come up with the layout befor they even did anything. if he put a patent on his thing then he could sue them tho but he was the original idea person
