SuperKoopa Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 (edited) So I understand the process of doing it, but since I need a passme and a GBA Flash Card, what are the cheapest offers out there? I'm almost broke but would LOVE LOVE LOVE to try DSWiFi. Any suggestions? Disclaimer: NOT OLD ENOUGH FOR JOB Edit: Also, I need a router for DSWiFi right? Edited October 2, 2005 by SuperKoopa
JaJa Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Err....http://www.dspassme.com/oscommerce/catalog...99447ee89bcb1e5There's your passme and GBAMP. Once you get some CF cards and a reader your all set. You can get small cheap cards on ebay for like $3-$4So about $50? @venom388 he said he can't get a job.
Thoop Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 but small cards don't always work, my friend has a 16MB canon cf card that doesn't wrk with the gbamp.
sgstair Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 I too have a 16MB card that doesn't work with the gbampv2 loader - it *does* however work with gbampv1, so we're looking into it to see what the problem might be.. -Stephen
Thoop Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Well, my friend also has V2 so I'll tell him that it might work with V1, but then some other things on't work (mighty max's loader and the newest version of moonshell.)
JaJa Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 I have two lexar 32mb cards, both work fine.My bytestor cards don't (128mb and 256mb).My third card,stor-media 256mb, i think works. Using GBAMP firmware V1 with flashme.Mighty Max's loader and moonshell work on the lexar and the stor-media cards.
Thoop Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Using GBAMP firmware V1 with flashme.Mighty Max's loader and moonshell work on the lexar and the stor-media cards.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> yeah but I mean the newest loader of mighty max and the moonshell with multi-booter built in.
SuperKoopa Posted October 2, 2005 Author Posted October 2, 2005 (edited) Yeah, one thing I was still wondering was about the CF cards and how much storage they should have? What are the usual filesizes of some of the homebrew apps/DSWifi? I don't want to spend money on a 256MB card then find out I could easily use a 16MB one. XD Also, what is the difference between a Super PassKey and a Passme GBC Complete, is it just that with the Super PassKey, you don't have to put a DS game of your own into it, cause it's already shaped like it or something? computerjoe Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Will we need FlashMe or something like that?
JaJa Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 There is no difference between the passme and superkey-thing. The superkey is encased in plastic.Unless you want to play a lot of mp3's on moonshell or hexen 16mb or 32mb should suffice.<sigh>You need a passme, flashme OR wifime (with compatible wireless card)Read some of the other threads. I posted a load about this yesterday.
SausageBoy Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 You will need a way of running homebrew, how you decide to do that is up to you. And the SuperPass and crap like that are all PassMe ripoffs, support natrium42, the original designer, and buy it from him at http://www.natrium42.com/, or, if you want a really good deal with GBAMP, buy it from Lynx, he's also a homebrewer and should be supported.
SuperKoopa Posted October 2, 2005 Author Posted October 2, 2005 (edited) MP3's you say? How would the DS play them? Ah crap what about routers? What am I going to do with that!? Edited October 2, 2005 by SuperKoopa
JaJa Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Yes. Moonshell. An mp3 playing shell. For the DS.Have you been living in a cave?http://www.ndshb.com/cgi-bin/cfiles/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,3,13And what about routers? What are you going to do with what?Im so confused.
sgstair Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 The deal with wireless routers is... they're nice to have. The wifi should work with any card though, provided you can pipe the signals through it to where you want (say, internet connection sharing to allow internet access from a wifi card)a router won't be necessary though, a wifi card in ad-hoc mode should work just as well (don't worry about how to configure it yet, if you don't know, tutorials will probably come out shortly after the release -Stephen
