Wizard
Here are some pros and random cons; new 6x00 series:Good:Back to the old nVidia way (same speed on all, just different bus)^---Overclockable like a mofo as alwaysBad:PricePower consumption is a whore and ATi's card:Good:Afforableoverclockable like a mofobad:second place besides nVidia imo from what I find ATi cards tend to favor p4 boards while nVidia is amd-related boards. Gryph
The 6600GT is the best card you can get under $200.
Nusumenai
The 6600GT is the best card you can get under $200.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> For a 100$ more however, you could get the ATI x800xl, which is right on par with NVs 6800GT. The only con I can think off is losing Digital Vibrance... I can't believe ATI still has not done anything about it.
Gryph
You do have a point...but the only reason I wouldn't do it is because I'd rather get an intermediate card like the 6600GT right now and save that $100 for a next gen card that would be able to play UE3 games pretty smoothly. I'm timing my next major upgrade to take place sometime next spring or summer.
Amithraldur
Like the others have said, it really kind of depnds on what your price limit is. The 6600GT is an awsome card, though. Personally, I would prefer the 6800GT, but that may be more than what you're looking for.
Gryph
I would prefer 6800Ultra SLI but you know, that's mucho expensive.
