Last Exile Posted January 30, 2005 Author Posted January 30, 2005 I have kof2003 running on kawaks 1.48b dev (if it helps) Here is the info 262144 c521b5bc 271-bios.bin 16777216 c29acd28 271-c1d.bin 16777216 328e80b1 271-c2d.bin 16777216 020a11f1 271-c3d.bin 16777216 991b5ed2 271-c4d.bin 16777216 c2de8b66 271-c5d.bin 16777216 3ff750db 271-c6d.bin 524288 0e86af8f 271-m1d.bin 4194304 b9da070c 271-p1.bin 4194304 da3118c4 271-p2.bin 1048576 5cefd0d2 271-p3.bin 1048576 59d376da 271-p3d.bin 16777216 2058ec5e 271-v1d.bin<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have this exact rom! But I just can't get it working in kawaks 1.45 loader due to all the 271-bios files and the lack of v-2 v-3 v-4 files, I have no idea how the info layout should look like in the asr.dat. (Anyone who can guide me feel free!) So is 1.48dev entirely different from 1.45 loader? Does dev use the same asr.dat structure?
Agozer Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 (edited) IIRC, the set you and robbbert have only works in Kawaks Dev and maybe in MAME (and I'm not sure about MAME). kawaks Dev doesn't have Asr.dat because it isn't a Loader. It's just regular Kawaks with some developer thingamajigs enabled so that it supports some of the new games. Edited January 30, 2005 by Agozer
Last Exile Posted January 30, 2005 Author Posted January 30, 2005 (edited) You're right. I just d/l 1.48dev and that specific kof2003 set worked fine in it. But now Samsho5 refuses to work in dev... (it never ends does it...) Can anyone confirm the existence of a working samsho5 in dev? Basically I'm (yet again) forced to run 3 different versions of kawaks just to play all the games (a la Neorage) and I'd love to cut out 1.45 loader totally and just use dev. Im so close I can taste it! Edited January 30, 2005 by Last Exile

Im so close I can taste it!You'd be better off with a regular Kawaks Loader and the decrypted bootleg set of KOF2003 (the one that works in Kawaks, Nebula, NRX etc.), since specific Kawks Dev sets are very hard to find and only work in Dev. But then again, that's just my opinion.
Xeon Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 you really want to know how to minimize your emulator-specific game not working problems? learn to use ROM auditing tools, like ROMCenter.
James Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 The kawaks dev rom sets are not 100% correct. I would not bother collecting roms for that emulator.
L.S.D Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 Sidenote: How to convert my MSlugX rom which work perfectly in NRX to Nebula or kawaks?

I think kawaks uses the same DAT. Edited January 31, 2005 by Agozer
