Aha! I got it working! Yup some of you guys were right, a router/AP problem - not an IP problem. No, there was no fancy networking knowledge involved... I just factory defaulted the router as I was getting annoyed with it and now the app works flawlessly! Excellent job Sintax! Just as nifty as I had imagined, now i can check on my torrents from bed! hehehe Thanks everyone for helping out and giving ideas Todays lesson: After messing with multiple firmware updates on a linksys router trying factory defaulting to 'refresh' everything. *Can't wait for the next version of Win2DS*

Tenjou Tenge and Samurai Champloo are both very fun.... and perhaps less fighty but more shooty would be ghost in the shell: stand alone complex... very slick show.... All come recommended

hehe I suppose I should clarify the setup a bit more: yes server exe is running on main PC with a basic password. My network is 192.168.1.x with 255.255.255.0 subnet... So router is 192.168.1.1 and main PC is 192.168.1.33. Perhaps I should try changing my PC IP around a bit seeing if it'll somehow magically work.. Also wondered if it was my firewall on main PC causing trouble but doubtful, just to be sure I added the DS IP to the trusted list for all traffic/ports and still nothing... At this stage I'm thinking the same thing LargePig, as it's not even getting thru the router to try and auth at the PC, its failing straight away. The only thing that's perhaps different about my setup than a default one is that I have updated the router firmware twice recently, once to get the DS working and to the newest version to fix a bug in PPPoE. I appreciate the help though, and sorry if I'm being annoying

Still no luck tried default ( 192.168.1.189) and what sintax has in the toubleshooting ( x.x.x.188), and the CANNOTCONNECT message comes up straight away... do I need to setup some DMZ on the DS IP or something?

Huge fan of GW here, I've been playing it since launch. Great PVP, great graphics, great missions... and no subscription! I've got 2 lvl 20 characters and my new one is a lvl 14 ele, and even in my 3rd time thru the game I'm still enjoying it

I'm not sure if a solution is available just yet, but things are starting to happen with UWB. http://www.gefen.com/kvm/news/macworld2006-1.jsp These guys have unveiled a wireless USB hub thing but the I don't know if its mac-only or platform independant (should be independant but the only sites that talk about it are apple mac sites!)

Hi there, first post (because I'd really like to get this working!) I can't get this to connect at all on my setup... flashme'd DS with M3 CF, homebrew usually works fine (never tried wifi type ones before), linksys WRT54Gv5 router with 1.0.0.6 firmware, DS works fine online (mario kart etc)... however when i fill in the connection details into the app, DS IP of 192.168.1.30 as setup in the WFC options, gateway as the IP of the router, server as the IP on my main PC etc.... when i goto connect it sees the AP, but once i press A it _immediately_ displays the error message of "CANNOTCONNECT"... no authenticating or waiting or anything... just error straight away.. WEP etc is disabled, and tried both with mac filtering and without... the dswifi stuff does work with a router right? or am I just totally off the mark and need a softAP in my machine or something.... any ideas? i'd love to try this app out
