  1. Ah.. yes I remember this now. You have to set your Folders directory to be the full path, for example C:\HBMAME\folders . If you just use the default "folders", it may or may not work. Same applies for all the other directory settings too.

The other day I was trying to set up Arcade64 on a pc, and I had all kinds of problems until I remembered about this. Once I corrected the paths it all worked as intended.

  2. HBMAME 0.245.23 has been released.

    Changes:

    - ELF2: More work to get this fully working

    - Game.com - patch so that Inufuto games can run

I've got the P.O.W. port as well, but only on neogeoCD currently. I'll see if it's possible to make roms out of it.

There's a Double Dragon One demo, also for Neogeo, that's in the current HBmame.

  6. Yes, you are correct. It seems the function was commented out a long time ago and forgotten about. I've just restored it. When you hide the menu bar it will come back next time you run the game.

The proper way is to set things up so that the bar is hidden for arcade games, but shows for computers/consoles. To make that happen, create a file called arcade.ini in the ini folder, and put one line into it: menu 0

For individual games and systems, you can right-click on the game, Properties, Miscellaneous, and adjust the checkbox "Show Menu".

  9. Quote from the author:

    Quote

So yeah, the background issues from Mission 2 is actually an anti-tamper function I added to the game. The idea being is some enterprising cart seller tries to remove my "This is a free download" message or mess with the rom is some other way, it breaks the background after mission 2 ( and somewhere else, but that would be telling, slightly sneaky routine too ).

What I didn't appreciate was that flash carts patch the vector base once the ROM is loaded, thus breaking my checksum calc routine.

And.. after updating the rom hashes yesterday, now I have to do it again with this new version...

  10. I had added this to HBmame when it was first announced, back then there was only a .neo file and a CD. I had to split up the .neo file manually to make a proper rom set.

But now the release contains roms, so I'll use those and throw out the ones I made.

I'm completely hopeless at this game, not able to even finish the first level, so if there's graphics problems later I'll never know about them.

  13. They are just late as usual.

If it was skipped they would make an entry at mamedev.org (like last year), and my version would have been (0.272.2).

I did it early (well, on time), because of hot weather that started today which may go on for weeks, too hot for my poor little computer.
