    something wrong in my pc

    :) hy there.... I got this problam since I install winxp :

    when I shutdown the windows every thing went right and I got the screan telling me that I can now turn my pc safty and here (I) have to shut it manuely..... in other windows it use to turnoff by it self...is there any option in windows xp to that

     

    yea.. got the same problem for a couple of yrs now, since xp came out

    OT: Windows Media Player tip

     

    I'm in the process of digitizing a whole mess of Christmas albums that my wife had growing up. This involves hooking up a turntable to my laptop (I'm using a new Audio-Technica AT-PL50 that I picked up for just $99, which includes a built-in preamp so you don't need a receiver or mixer to record from it), and using the Analog Recorder tool from Plus! Digital Media Edition to record the audio, split it into tracks, name the album/tracks, and filter out pops and hissing. The Analog Recorder creates WMA files at whatever bitrate you choose.

     

    Once the files are in WMA format, you can use Windows Media Player to burn them to an audio CD. But that's not the tip yet...

     

    In order to keep as much info as possible from the original albums, I decided to use my Nikon Coolpix 4500 to take photos of the front and back covers, then use those for the CD inserts. The only thing missing at this point is having the album art show up in Windows Media Player. For some albums, it's possible to find the album info online, which automatically downloads the album art for you. But for more obscure albums, like the ones I'm currently digitizing, you probably won't find them online. Instead, you can simply copy the image you wish to use (JPG format) to the folder containing the audio tracks, and rename it to AlbumArtSmall.jpg. Your image will now show up in Windows Media Player when you are playing tracks from that album. If you want the same image to show up as the folder image in Thumbnail view, simply make a copy of the file, and rename it to Folder.jpg (this is not specific to WMP).

     

    Note that all of the above is specific to Windows XP, and may not work on any other OS. YMMV. :)

    Magic Engine v1.0 PR4 Released!

     

    Magic Engine is a PC-Engine emulator for Windows. (Shareware)

     

    News:

    • added calibration support to the gamepad driver.
    • new options in the pce.ini file to control the gamepad calibration. If your gamepad doesn't work with the default values try to change these options.
    • fixed a little bug in the sound emulation.
    • fixed a bug in the video emulation, could freeze or crash the emulator.
    • fixed a bug in the CD-DA player, could freeze the emulator.
    • fixed a bug in the PCE CD-ROM detection.
    • improved the windowed mode (auto centering, remember window positions, etc...).
    • doesn't exit anymore if you don't have a CD-ROM drive
    • the usual tiny fixes/improvements.

    • fixed the fullscreen bug of PR 4.
       
    • added little state boxes in the gamepad config menu. You can now press a
       
    • control on your gamepad and get a visual feedback of its state, this will make easier to match a control to its name in the list. :lol:
       
    • added new buttons in the video config panel to configure the vsync and windowed options.
       
    • the gamepad can now be used to select the CD-ROM drive in the 'boot CD' menu.
       
    • fixed Final Match Tennis graphics bug.
       
    • improved the sound emulation (implemented an undocumented noise mode).

    Wireless internet sucks.

    make sure your pc with the connected wireless card is free from things that might interfere with its connection, like if is inside a desk, like those pc desk from ikea or wuteva with an area to put your monitor and pc.. i've moved my other computer with the wireless outside of the desk and nows getting an excellent signal, 54mbps, linksys 2.4ghz
