  4. Raine is an Arcade emulator for Windows. It doesn't have as many games supported as Mame, but strives to do them as well as possible.

    News:

    • After all this time, I finally took the time to add cps2 emulation to raine. I didn't want to release this version that fast, but since I had left a few bugs in 0.41.3 for air gallet...
So you get 28 fully playable cps2 games in this version (all the original games, but no clones). Credits for cps2 are going first to cps2 shock for their incredible xor tables, and secondly to mame for releasing their source for that. I only had to patch starscream to make it to handle cps2 encryption and fix a few little details to make raine to emulate cps2 ! Since I was short on time, I didn't try to emulate the video priorities yet, but the surprise is that lots of games are running very well without this emulation !!! Try them by yourself, and you'll see...
Notice that most cps2 games are big. mvsc for example requires 110 Mb to run, it's not a problem with modern computers, but it's still very big for a raine game !

Except that I fixed the last bugs in air gallet, fixed a buffer overflow in the history.dat handling, and added cheats for all the new cps2 games. Also I improved the sprites decoding in cps1 & cps2 to save some memory, so lots of games require much less memory now.

  5. misc news:

    • [ Source: PWTorch.com ]

Right now it is known amongst WWE wrestlers, that with WWE cutting salaries, they would most likely be able to make more (or at least an equal amount) of pay by working TNA and some indy shows. The main reason that many unhappy WWE wrestlers are hesitating on jumping ship, is that they are unsure about the future of TNA.

TNA is being described as a more attractive offer than renewing a WWE contract right now for the less paid wrestlers in WWE. TNA’s road schedule is a lot easier to live with, and the wrestlers would get more TV time. The main factor in WWE wrestlers jumping to TNA, is that they are still unsure about the just how long TNA will last.

However, with TNA’s Victory Road PPV buy rates being so good they were described as “beyond their wildest dreams”, many look at TNA as more of a secure company than before.
  6. From the release (MagicEngine 1.0 PR1) before this.

This is what the autohor said:

    • We tried hard to finish everything in time and up to the last few days we thought it would be possible but this didn't work out, too many details to fix popped up at the last second (Windows can be a pain to program sometimes...). It was very close though, we expect that version 1.0 will be finished in about 1-2 weeks, meanwhile you can enjoy this preview version. :shootem: It has almost all the features of the final version, there is just a few missing options, and not everything can be controlled from the GUI yet. There's no manual too, so if you encounter a problem post a message in the forums or write us an e-mail, we will try to reply you as soon as possible.

We are waiting your comments and bug reports now (please not too many bug reports :naughty:). This version is a big jump forward, we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. Have fun!

If you are a registered user you just need to download the new demo version and install it over your registered version, or if you prefer you can install it in a new directory too, in this case just copy your key file (pce.key) in the directory of the new version too. If you don't have have your key file anymore just send us an e-mail with your registration details to get the key again.
  7. MagicEngine is a TG16 emulator for Windows.

    News:

    • new CD-DA code: faster and better synchro. In case the default settings don't work for you there are three new options in the pce.ini file to control how are managed the CD-DA buffers. The more important option is the buffer size, the higher the slower, the default is 2 now, it was 20 in PR 1.
    • added a vsync option, with a special mode for windowed mode.
    • cleaned up the gamepad code and added additionnal debugging infos to the log.txt file.
    • the ROM path is now saved when you exit.
    • added two options to disable the FPS counter and the PSG volume meter.
    • enabled the turbo option.
    • temporary fix for the boot CD menu bug. Only one drive is listed now even when you have more than one, the one listed will be the first drive that has a PC-Engine CD loaded, if you change it it will change in the menu too. I couldn't test this feature though, so let me know how well it works.

  8. the goal really, was to simply test myself. i've always wanted to have my own emulator, and to continue this project seemed like a good idea. the current goal, after achieving that goal, is to make the original emulator way better (basicnes 2000). i've been hard at work adding mapper support and new features, and that's basically my goal at this point. i've got unique features in my emulator that you don't see in other nes emulators (input switching, random rom loading, mapper substitution, etc.), and i'm very proud of that. i've relaly impressed myself with this project, it's slowly developing, but it's getting better all the time.  :shootem:

awesome... how'd you learn how to program? keep up the good work :naughty:

  10. Kega Fusion is a Genesis/Sega CD/32X emulator for Windows

    News:

    • Fixed a small problem with the SegaCD CDD
    • Fixed VGM issue
    • Fixed "Streets of Rage" sound problem
    • Discovered what some sound drivers do and worked around it (Thanks to Stone for testing), more machines should now work without having to drop to "Alternate Timing" mode
    • Added "Sleep While Waiting" option - NOT recommended because it can cause skipping in the sound and the framerate of the emulator, also not really needed because the emulator *will* give up time to any running program automatically - but since so many people really want to see the task manager showing available CPU time, here it is. Use it if you must. But don't complain about choppy frame rates :D
    • Upped the number of render plugins to 16
    • Updated render plugin system to allow for 2x, 3x and 4x scalers. (Only works in Enhanced GFX mode)
    • Render plugins can now go into a "Plugins" folder to avoid clutter
    • Lots of other fixes which I really can't remember now.
