  3. On having read through what i wrote, your right, its about as clear as mud.

What i meant was, if your launching a skin that maybe has a minor fault in the xml,

(not saying anyone has released bad xml)

the emulator seems to default and use settings from from "Default" skin folder.

(in my findings, although it could be hardcoded to the xbe)

Now if you have no default skin folder a black screen ensues.

Of course this could have all been just coincidence. Its something i was testing months back.

May not even happen with newer FBA betas.

Havent tested again as im only just focusing back on FBA after playing with Madmabs Xport emulators.

Another common reason for the black screen is when changing skin from a SD to a HD skin.

If you try to change skin, from the emulator options, to HD you are greeted with a black screen.

The accepted way to change to HD skins, is to launch a game, enter game options menu and make

the change to HD from there.

All a bit academic now anyway as you have it fixed.

  4. It has come to my attention, that way too many people, are setting aside differences,

in order to really move the xbox emulation scene forward.

Now this is all well and good but im miss some of the old days.

So im going to take things into my own hands :-

(cbagy unties BP's shoelaces and ties them together with big nasty knots)

Now i have a feel for it

(cbagy buys everyone a beer, brewed only in the USA and you have to drink it all !)

I know its spitefull, but hey, thats the way the cookie crumbles.

Yeah i see you hiding there Kenshiro, havent forgot you !

  5. First off even though it boots the MS dash does it still play copied disc's ?

ie- Is it still modded but with the MS Dash ?

quick guess here, cant remember off hand, modern softmods create a dummy c:\ drive.

To install any new dash you must unlock the real drive.

In one of the sofmod folders there is another .xbe which you launch that unlocks the real c:\ drive.

Or the softmod dash has a folder say on E:\Dash, so place any new dash in the dash folder.

This is only a vague guide cause you didnt give anything on the dash you supposedly have installed.

  6. Had a quick look. You should be ok with the x3.

The LPC rebuild is already done for you so no problem.

I think you have a few install methods, the one you will

probably recieve has 1 or 2 wires that would need soldering.

However it may also come with a "pogo-pin" style adapter

which you place on the board and fit the chip to the top.

The description doesnt say the adapter is part of the package

but it says its available (im presuming you have to buy it).

I havent got an x3. I use a Xenium on one machine

and an cheap mod (maybe Alladin ?) on another. My other machine is softmodded.

To be honest, untill it arrives i havent a clue. You may get an adapter.

They seem to use a clever description on the site.

  7. A new version of my Singularity (WIP 2) skin is coming soon.

    4:3 , 16:9 and HD 720P. With 4 Themes (for now)

    Re-Worked every config.

Added proper Previews (thanks for the tip Gilou, what a f****** nightmare that was !)

Added more sprites. ETC, Blah, Blah, Blah.

An extra "Background" music pack will also be available as a seperate download.

Within a few days i will upload it. Just finishing testing every config.

Because of the changes "you", the end user, will have to delete the old skin

to avoid conflicts as things have moved around especially in the sprite folder.

Obviously keep any modded configs of your own and re-apply them to the new folder.

Because some sprites have moved you will have to config the odd one or two bits of your own work.

"I will not answer questions from any user who doesnt follow this guideline"

PS. You must also check out "any" work made by Gilou.

  8. Yeah that is probably ok. It would seem to be a build made by the AID team. It probably comes with a whole bunch of skins and plugins most of which you wont like in the case of the skins and as far as the scripts go half are shoddy and lots dont even work. Some plugins are regional and most require a really up to date build of XBMC. The newer skins also require a recent version XBMC. Hey its all up to you, i prefere to get my builds from the builders/creators. Try this site for info on XBMC. Over time most development threads have moved to XBMC's new home at http://xbmc.org/forum/

Good luck, thats all your getting outta me.

  9. There are a few quirks with AID Installer.

Firstly the apps, emulators etc are from when the installer was packaged (made) so as Fu says they are dated from the summer so XBMC and other bits will require updating after initial install.

Secondly you will have some tools installed by the installer in set directories, i myself dont use the old folder layout ie- emulators in emulators folder, apps in apps folder etc. For me emulators drop straight in the games folder. You get the idea anyway.

In conclusion, you will probably have to re-arrange some stuff. As for updating things it couldnt be easier. Its not like a PC with installers as such, its a case of copying and overwriting stuff via Either FTP or from disc. Im sure you get the picture.
