The magic word there Ice_Man. Modchip. Chipped machines dont need the lock as the bios and stuff is circumnavigated (bypassed). Softmods are a different kettle of fish so to speak. Shit better run off to google and get my facts right BP will be all over this thread if not.

Im not bitter ? Ive nothing to feel bitter about ! Yeah a simple skin like that only takes 20 mins even for a newb like me. Even building everything by hand from scratch.
No your wrong (again) no-one help or was involved in the making of this config.
I do wish you would research your info better.
Those Alpha features arent supported here and not neccessary, as well you
know the xbox max file name restriction so it doesnt come into play here.
PS. Your the saddest thing to come over the forums, which is a shame cause with
the right training you too could become a member of society.

Im relesing the Dynamic version of my Singularity skin for NeoGenesis, no old configs carry over from the NES, all new and improved for you guys to mod. Heres a snippet of a config i built "by hand from scratch" yesterday.
PS. As you mat be aware my camera work is shite. Although this is the worse pic ive ever taken.
But you get the flavour anyway.

Is it your first time using your box in HD ?
If so its a real eye opener.
Xbmc looks out of this world and so do your games.

If you cant lock the hard drive then that drive is a no go for softmods. It is a requirement of the xbox dash, to which the softmod needs the xbox dash to be bootable. You could mess around for ages with online tools that claim to lock certain brands. Trust me ive tried quite a few. Pop the old one back in and when you can afford a new one treat yourself. If you want to get into emulators then probably a 160gb should be the minimum. Im presuming your a, shall we say, not a youngster now, so put your hand in your pocket and get a new one mate !

Well as FBA XXX Pro is now closed i suppose this one is open to development. It "may" do what FBA Pro did and some more.
Although only the emu author can answer really. I believe some of Kenshiro's code has been handed over to a few emu devs in true community spirit (good old Kenshiro) so who knows what the next few weeks - months will bring. Here's hoping.

Yes but you must still have some files for the installer to install. Im presuming your softmod comes with the xbox dash and the unleashx dash modded. If so your good to go. I see you copied the c drive files.

No i dont suppose youve done anything wrong. You need to burn that to a dvd dont you.
As far as an install goes build a fresh new one with just eeprom added. Clean installs are always best.
Pop in new hdd, build. Transfer anything you need back. This way you know that everything
is as it should be and avoids headaches further down the road when you launch something
and it starts to play up. Honestly, taking shortcuts always leads to tears in the end. Having to build from scratch
also gives you practice and a deeper understanding of whats going on. To unlock the hidden shadow c:\ partition
in that particular softmod you browse to e:\ again, look for a folder called nt (something). There is a xbe inside, launch that and it boots unleashx but with the shadow c:\ unlocked. This is good for changing fan speeds or changing to HD.

You havent been very descriptive there so im gonna guess again here. When you made the initial iso im betting theres still a linux.iso in the folder which has now been added to your new iso therefore inflating the size. Or youve made a back up of your current config with extra stuff installed that doesnt come with a clean install.

I know what youve done. Simple mistake anyone could do it, ive done it a couple of times on different machines and i know what im doing with them tools. Im guessing your softmod has created a shadow C:\ drive using an unleashx engine as the dash. Yes ? Get the xbox to some sort of bootable state. Use a file browser (on the xbox) and browse to e:\.
You should have a dash folder. Put the raw contents of the xbmc build in there. The shadow c:\ drive has a shortcut pointing to an xbe in the e:\dash folder. Try that, any problems post back and i will show you a proper admin trick for that setup if its needed.

Well done Kenshiro, i understand what you mean about inherrited bugs. "All" ports to the xbox carry over code thats not compatible. We still to this day, have emulators with code commented out, useless folder structures etc. Which is clutter and can only cause problems. Good luck Kenshiro, sit back and play the games like the rest of us.

I have this problem when transfering stuff from a usb memory stick (FAT) to xbox, seems to capitalise everything. Gave up and just use FTP.

Agree with you there BP. There's a lot of "tat" out there as far as roms go. It would hardly be a showcase with some of the rubbish games included. Just extra weight to the download and wasted time in the rom list.

As Fu says back up essential system files "NOW". Im gonna guess "Heat". With this repetative behaviour its gonna get hotter and hotter untill it dies. It is on its way out. In fact to double check, copy everything to PC. Take to pieces and clean thoroughly, if you feel comfortable enough remove GPU and CPU heatsinks. Clean of bubble gum thats used to dissipate heat, and re-apply some new "proper" stuff. Pop HDD back in and re-assemble. Format the HDD, re-install softmod and try to ftp everything back. If it still persists then its f*****. With Softmod's this preceedure is much more long winded and difficult. Probably best to get new HDD and prepare for softmod, the re-place. Although the internal maintenance wouldn't hurt. Option 3. Sing "Take That" songs to it untill it submitts.

I know where the info is always did, 6 months ago built a basic template then gave it to someone as i have no interest. And you are correct, its not that hard at all. Any twat can do it and he does.
