  1. only just got back here this afternoon, got pm, will work on it later. Thats the best i can do.

Had a quick go (spare ten mins) used default config.xml. The only thing i could see off hand was

    <players> X co-ordinates = 170 rather than 290.

All other remapping seems to be done with the default.xbe i have which i think is a HD version.

All co-ordinates are still stated using a 640x480 format then resized by the xbe i presume.

  2. Inky unless your looking to mess about with firmware like ddrt and compatible routers/modems the answer is yes but exspensive in time and money (the orignal wireless for xbox and compatibles cost a bomb on ebay).

I used the first cheap router i found £ 28 uk, and £ 12 uk for wireless network card and voila two machines fully networked.

PS. No firmware upgrades of any sort required. The router firmware is 3 yrs old, can be used in all manner of configs. Is this something youve done yourself or just guessing ?

  3. and putting it in the bedroom strictly for emulation.

anyone know a cheap as free way of wirelessly networking an og xbox? I don't wanna run cat5 all around the house.

    emulator suggestions?

coinops should handle all my cps1/2, and NeoGeo needs right?

    SNES?

    NES?

I've got a bunch of emulators on there now but they are horribly out of date.

I should prolly update the dash too. I've always used XBMC. is that still the best option?

    any other suggestions?

Networking the xbox with wireless equipment really depends on how your pc connects to the internet already, this determins which gear you need to buy. Which rooms have an internet access point. In my situation i live in England, i use fibre optic broadband. All of the habital rooms in my house have been hard wired ready for cable broadband. With this in mind my set-up follows, the modem is hardwired using broadband input in lounge (living room, sitting room, tv room) which then connects to the wireless router still in lounge, xbox hard wired to router with lan cable, still in lounge, PC in spare small bedroom with wireless card installed. All hve internet access and networked. All i had to buy was a wireless router and a wireless card for my pc.

You know what im gonna say and youve said in no uncertain terms how you feel on the subject (which i think is unfair) but here goes. Rather than adding another 250 Street Fighter / Shooter type clones would you perhaps take a look at some of the gun games / drivers (some already existing in current builds). Other users and not just myself, are missing out on some right gems. It would surely broaden the horizon of the emulator and perhaps appeal to more users. Its common knowledge that other emulators emulate certain games better than CoinOps and users build rom sets for each emulator based on that principle. Now having said that CoinOps itself is a huge achievement and still my weapon of muti-choice. Its come a long way yet how much further can it go in its current form ? In an ideal world an emulator (based on mame) could be written for light-gun games only, dispensing with the need for flexibility which would dump a lot of code and should be relatively light weight. If i remember correctly (probably not) there are over 60 gun roms out there, perhaps more.

Although i feel ive just wasted 15 mins of my life typing, what do you think ? Are you up to the challenge ? Im wearing my fire retardent underpants and have rhino thick skin so dont be shy, i wont cry, honest ! :D

  5. up till xmas still owned a bbc, still own an electron. Games wise .... well where to start. On the subject of emulators was going to post last week when i saw that you were trying to get an emulator to run an emulator to run bbc / electron games. Tried all possibillities and failed a couple of years ago. Best i got was wine through xdsl but encountered directx problems, sorted that out then , nothing. Left it there. I agree i would love to see a BBC /Electron emulator especially after i had to resample all my games on cassette as they were from the mid 80's when i first recorded them. I now use either my stereo system or a mp3 player to play them. I could use the PC but for me it kinda loses something. Did look at electrem a few months back but had compile problems and coupled with the fact that i dont have enough experience with porting problems, it got left there. Would just take an experienced coder a few hours to get a basic system running on xbox but its not me.

Yes Manic Miner was available and pretty good too, Boffin was good, oh theres loads.

  6. its usually the things that we overlook that cause the most problems, they also tend to make one believe that the problem lies elsewhere. Which in turn creates further problems that werent there. Anyhow its nice to see youve sorted it out without having to pay money.

  7. Sorry to be a pain, but has a build with all the roms been released yet? I've been waiting to download that version of the emulator. Thanks guys.

There is a suggested file list in there, you could always grab a few roms yourself to get playing / testing. The dats are provided too for building rom sets.

  8. Point taken, wasnt having a go. Tried it on CRT 4:3 tv, CRT Widescreen and Widescreen LCD, just to be sure. Maybe its the way i must of set it up with the screenshots i downloaded ! This time i saved all my own screenshots from previous exploits copied them over and theyre all the right way round "FOR ME" now.

    PS.

Won't release any packs, too many cooks and all that.

I think you'll find if you ask my wife im never wrong !

    Sterling work BP.

  9. quite a few screenshots missing for me and too many rotated that will need fixing for most users

the reason you think there are screenshots missing is coz they are for the 1000roms that will be released.

previous releases had more games so obviously some images are missing for the games that are not going to be included in the new roms package.

i havent seen any rotated maybe you have to change something in the settings.

hmmm , yeah just been looking, nothing seems a miss. looked on pc and yup 400 x 300 rotated 90 degrees to the right, the wrong way. Not an issue for me as im quite able to sort it out easily. Others may not be so competant.
