  7. i think it is some guy named kain is uploading this to newsgroups.. FBA-XXX (08/26/05) patched to FBA-XXX Pro (0.2.95.23) with complete romset Tested on X-Box Version 1.0 with Xecuter3 modchip, & Samsung DVD Drive. This is likely to be the ultimate FBA-XXX post for the X-Box. FBA-XXX appears to be abandoned as their website is pretty much dead, so these should be the latest versions available. The romset is complete except for a single M1 (sound rom) for Metal Slug 5 (268-m1.bin crc 4a5a6e0e). It is a private rom dump that has not been released, so there's no chance of having a true complete romset at this time. The missing M1 is not necessary to run the game as the emu uses the decrypted M1 which is included; I've tested the game and it appears to run fine. I've tested many but by no means all of the games included. See the docs folder for a list of which games do not work. I've tested this compilation on both HDD and DVD+R DL media with the latter having significantly longer load times.

  15. another great post was found on alt.binaries.cd.image.xbox BAED 2 Posting FAQ: Q: What's your fill policy? A: First of all, I backfill files that show incomplete on my ISP's server shortly after posting. This means that if you simply refresh your headers, the file that showed incomplete before will be complete. Sometimes it may take several hours for me to backfill an incomplete, but just wait. Q: What should we NOT do? A: Don't request fills from #a.b.c.i.x. They don't have them. They may have them once everyone else gets them, but, as I said in the NFO for the first disc, I'm just a regular guy, not affiliated with any release groups or anything, so right now I'm the only person with the files. If you need a fill, request it on the newsgroup. Please do not request any fills until I'm finished posting. USE THE PAR2s! They are there for a reason. When posting the last disc, people were requesting partial reposts before I finished the post, and before I posted the PAR2s at the end of the post! Also, if your news server is so bad that you have to request a repost of the first 50 parts when my posting progress hasn't even got up to part 60, well, sorry, but you just need a new news server. BAED2 has 10% PAR2s instead of the 5% that the first disc had, so hopefully that should be enough for most of you to fill in the missing parts. BAED 2 FAQ: Q: So, what's on this sucker? A: Gameboy: 1,480 games Gameboy Color: 1,233 games Gameboy Advance : 1,023 games Game Gear: 413 games Q: What's missing? A: Well, the full set of GBA takes up over a DVD by itself, so obviously some things had to go. All hacks for all of the systems are gone - only official games on this disc, and, of course, no overdumps or any crap like that. Several official GBA games also had to go. Like on the first BAED, I deleted Euro games (and a couple of Jap games) for which there is an identical American version. Q: The new v10 of the XboyAdvance emulator just came out last week. Did you use that on your disc? A: Yes. The collection of GBA ROMs also has the newest games, like Van Helsing and River City Ransom EX. Q: This game won't boot on my Xbox. What do I do? A: I don't know. Really, I don't. It tested fine for me. A couple people had this problem with the first disc and I don't think anyone ever figured out what caused it. If you're one of those people, you'll likely have the same problem with this disc because it was made the same way. Try updating your Xbox's BIOS. If it still doesn't work, let me know, but be sure to include ALL the details about your Xbox you can think of, and whether or not the first disc worked for you (if you have it). Q: There are no stupid errors like menu entries mapped to the wrong emulator, are there? A: No. It's easier to see problems like that when you're working with four systems instead of fourteen. Also, this time none of the preview pictures are squashed, and ROMs for all systems are organized by region (as categorized by GoodTools, then condensed, and subfolders added to folders with more than 100 ROMs, by me). If the game you're looking for isn't in the "U.S." folder, check the "World" folder. Many of the most popular games were released in all regions. Q: How do I burn this ISO? A: Just like any normal Xbox ISO. I've only tested it with Alcohol 120%, but it should work fine with whatever program you normally use. Q: Why did you use the STORE attribute on the RAR archive? Do you like wasting space? A: 99% of the content on the disc is already compressed. The emulators extract the games from ZIP files automatically when you play. This lets me fit more games on the disc, but, of course, also makes the ISO pretty much non-compressable. Q: This FAQ is too long and there are no illustrations to keep my attention! A: Sorry, I type fast and I'm probably not as succinct as I could be. Q: Will there be a BAED 3 ? A: Sure, why not?
  16. what program did you use to burn the iso? i keep getting errors with nero and Alcohol 120%.. What settings?
  17. getting X-Ecuter 2.3B LITE[+] put in today can someone post some emutlators? i have access to usenet alt.binaries.cd.image.xbox and alt.binaries.games.xbox.. Also looken for some good xbox emultator sites.. tia

  19. ya it sounds great my mod chip is coming soon so i grab it.. info: Big Ass Emulator Disc FAQ Q: Why are you posting this? A: I've been watching the Xbox group for a few months, but I have yet to see anyone post an emulator disc with multiple systems. I made a disc for my own use, and now I've decided to post it. I'm sure there are many people who would like something like this, but don't have the time and/or knowledge to create it. Compiling this disc took way more time than I planned, and I'd like to save others the effort of doing it themselves. Q: How big is big? A: 4,698,079,232 bytes Q: Will that fit on a DVD? A: Barely. Q: What did you use for the multigame menu? A: CDX.xbe, the Content Demo eXecutable, a Microsoft program used for demos and kiosk displays. See the XDK documentation or the forums on xbox-scene.com for more info. Q: What systems are on the disc? A: - Atari 2600 - Atari 5200 - Atari Lynx - Colecovision - Intellivision - MSX - MSX2 - Nintendo Entertainment System - Super NES - Sega Master System - Sega Genesis - Turbografx 16 - Neo Geo Pocket - WonderSwan Q: How many games for each system? A: Well, I started off with full GoodTools sets for every console and whittled them down to make them all fit. I removed all the overdumps and bad dumps, the unplayable crap. No point in having those on the disc. I also deleted some 16-bit hacks. Also, a few official 16-bit games had to go. I don't remember exactly what I took off, but I looked for European games for which there is also a U.S. version and deleted the Euro version. I also deleted a few story-driven Japanese games that are completely unplayable unless you speak Japanese. The total number of official games deleted is probably only about 15-20. Q: How many games are there, total, between all the systems? A: 14,620 Q: How'd you fit so many? A: Except for the oldest systems (for which a full ROM set is only a few MB), the emulators can all read from ZIP archives. EVery ROM on this disc that can be zipped is zipped. That's also why I used STORE on the posted RAR archive. I would waste a whole lot of time and get very little, if any, compression on the already-compressed files. Q: Can I extract the ISO and put the contents on my Xbox hard drive? A: Short answer, no. Long answer, yes, with a "but." The Xbox can read 128-character filenames from a disc, but filenames on the hard drive are limited to 30-something characters. When you try to transfer the contents of the ISO to the Xbox, you'll get errors on all the filenames longer than that limit. All the shorter ones should transfer fine, though, and so should all the files neccessary for the operation of all the emulators. If you want to play ALL the games off the HDD, you'll have to get a batch renamer program (there are lots of freeware ones) to truncate the filenames. Q: How do I exit from a game so I can choose another game? A: This question is only included because it took me a while to figure out and wasn't answered in the regular FAQs for the emulators. You press the right control stick IN, like it's a button. Q: Are any default configuration options changed in the emulators? A: Yes. All of the X-PORT emulators (the ones with a similar interface that were all ported by the same guy) have music playing by default when you're choosing your game. On some, the music even keeps going when you start playing the game! I changed the config for all emulators so music doesn't play during the game. Since there's no config option to stop the music during game selection, I changed all the songs to small files with nothing but silence. The regular songs take up space, and also most of them suck, IMHO. Even if they were good, anything will get annoying if you have to hear it looping over and over every time you choose a game. Q: Why isn't an emulator for system X included? That one was my favorite! A: Sorry, not enough room. The DVD can't get any fuller than it already is. If there's some interest among downloaders, I can compile a second disc with more different systems.
  20. alt.binaries.cd.image.xbox has a muti emu with tons of roms and a few emulators worth a look
