Hey if anyone wants to see a comprehensive website that has been following the KOF series since 98' (I believe) go to KOF Online where you can find move lists, character bios and all other sorts of good stuff.

Everyone is tired of Capcom fighting games which is the reason why arcades are dying. I dont mean to rag on Capcom since they do make some quality games. It just happens that in all the arcades I've been to in my state seem to only keep Capcom games in terms of the fighting genre goes. A few years ago SNK games were all over the arcades where I live and when Marvel vs Capcom 2 game out it was all over for them. Just hordes and hordes of people would flock over to those machines to marvel at that wonderful six man tag battles (Which KOF should have been like since the begining) waging in the dark corners of the arcade. Arcade managers saw how popular these capcom games were and started flooding the arcades with them. Now all the arcades near me are ghost towns with only a few die hard MvC2 fans floating around every now and then. Nobody wants to play the same game for three years and nobody wants to get thier asses kicked by those losers who do nothing but spend their time and money in the arcades (Damn little asian kids ) Hopefully with the fresh change in the KOF series and the new arcade boards finally coming out, SNK could make a come back in the Arcade niche here in the United States. I can't wait to see what Metal Slug and KOF will be like on that board.

Is it me or does kof2k3 only run in full screen mode? I have tried my other games and they don't go full screen. From there click on display and make sure that the "Run in a window" option is checked and that the "Start out maximized" option is unchecked. It should work just fine. IM running KOF2k3 on my laptop right now: HP Pavilion 2.66 P4 512 Megs ddr ram @ 300mhz 128meg ATI Radeon IGP 345m And it runs without any frame loss unless I put the detail setting on thier highest levels at 1024x768 fullscreen. I have yet to use it on my desktop which thunderinparadise found out was bad ass for the crap I have in it. Basically it doesnt matter what your processor speed is as long as it's above 500mhz. You just need 512 megs or more of ram to run it fine at the lower detail settings Because Mame (any version) and Kawaks are both Crazy resource hogs. You also might want to shut down any and all background programs before running the game. Just type "msconfig" (without the apostrophies of course) in run and from there you can shut down any programs and system operations that take up system resources. Be careful though, when I was first learning how to mess around with it I completely shut off all of my Wireless capabilities and couldnt figure out what I had done for a week (stupid me ) So try that, I highly doubt its cause your card sucks because youre all set video card wise for the next 2 years. But why the hell wouldnt you upgrade your processor and ram. Even with that card you wont be able to run the newer games like Half Life 2 and Doom 3 at all. Switch your equipment with your sisters but keep your radeon and you should be all set.

ya how do you get the select button to work. I hate restarting the game everytime I want to switch modes.

I got it working. I outsmarted those crafty mexican bastards . Great game though I wish they had a better character roster. All the characters I want to play as (Andy, Takuma... and such) arent playable. That and with advance in 2d technology, kof should be animated with a garou/metal slug quality of animation. But I guess they wanted to keep that choppy kof feeling and not change the game around completely. Anyways great game and whoever doesnt have it right now should be shot Is it just me or does Adel look like a bad science experiment gone wrong. It looks like a really really mannish King who fights like a Rugal rip off. Extremely cheap too considering I couldn't beat her with Terry or Ralf but Yamazaki of all fighters (Yamazaki rules now ) Other than that this game plays exactly how KOF always should have been. If it wasn't for Adel being a cheap Transvestite and the animation looking a bit dated I would give this game a 10, but it has an 8 1/2 right now. I know, I know, the choppy animation has always been with the KOF series but comeon. Look at flippin Garou:MOTW the game was absolutely gorgeous and still is. It nearly beat out street fighter 3 in terms of animation and this was on an almost 10 year old piece of hardware. The hardware is about 14 years old now and it still produces games that only run well on next gen systems like ps2 and xbox (dont get me started on dreamcast cause all of thier ports have sound thats off) Now I dont know if youre thinking what I am thinking, but this team could have easily spent the time they did updating the animation and creating new sounds instead of rehashing sounds from SvC Chaos Plus. When I first started playing I was like oh man, another piece of crap game. But I played it for a bit, and despite the short comings this is definetly the way KOF always should have been from the start. Nothing beats six man tag match (all though I wish they could have taken out the stupid "Change Ok" thing. I dont like waiting to make a tag which is probably why I still like Marvel Vs Capcom 2 better.) I am using winrar and winace and I cant seem to open the damn Mame32k plus.rar uuuuhhhhhhggggg! This is pissing me off! I waited six and a half flocking hours downloading from that stupid spanish link only to get a rom with an emulator whos.rar file contents can't be extracted. Can someone send me the Mame32 emulator in a.zip form. I would really appreciate it. My screenname on AIM is XerotoNine Thanks a bunch to whoever feels like helping me.

That spanish link must work though, its about an hour through and I have five more hours till its finished downloading. Hopefully this one isnt a fake too.

I tried This link that was posted earlier and I got the emulator for it but there is no rom in the.rar file. Odd if the file size was fourty six megs I do say.

does it come with the emulator or an add.dat file with it so its playable on kawaks I dont like mame at all and would like to play this on NRX or Kawaks

If anyone needs thier emulator problems fixed, ThunderinParadise is the way to go. He helped me out big time with a Kawaks Loader that plays all of the newer games to come out cept' for KOF 2002 (grrrrr ) But kudos to him for helping me out big time. Hi I've downloaded the WinKawaks 1.6 w/ Loader (146loader.exe by HappyASR). When I use the loader, it doesn't seem to use the asr.dat file. If I check say Rage of the Dragon in WinKawaks, it's not there, but it is in the asr.dat file. I've got the rom and the p1 patch but just can't play it because of the dat file. Please help! It's a 31 meg zip file containing the Emulator and the Game already in the rom folder with the directory already set. I love NeoRage X and all especially since its the only emu I have right now that plays Metal Slug 5. But anyways does anyone have a link to an add.dat file or a hacked kawaks to play Mslug 5 and samsho and all those other games. I have every NeoGeo game available for download cept kof2003 and the only ones I cant play in Kawaks are pissing me off. If you could help me with that it would be wonderful. Oh and joystick support rather sucks in NRX, especialy with my usb controllers I have to keep unplugging them and putting them back in if I tab in and out. But I have absoltely no probs with kawaks

It must be because I use the Mozilla Firebird 0.7 test browser. It runs a million times better than IE and Opera but I have some trouble viewing web pages, links and downloading files because it's not widely supported online. I'd use IE if it wasn't for all the flippin pop ups (I have two different pop up stoppers, a web based one and one I bought and they both suck. Firebirds pop up stopper is far superior.) I dont use a hacked NRX or SSV egcg final to run svc chaos or samsho five I use Kawaks 1.46. I havent been able to find a hacked PC version of kawaks that runs Metal Slug 5, I've been able to run everything else short of Crouching tiger hidden dragon and Metal Slug 5. The only reason I said my hacked NRX only plays MSLUG 5 is because the majority of my other roms are now all corrupted looking with my hacked NRX cept for Mslug 5 and Rage of the dragons. Anyways you made a point that I as well as most rom savvy people know and I dont think it had to be reiterated. Anyways if you could give me some info on a hacked kawaks (pc version not XBOX like ive been finding all over the place) that will play Mslug 4 and 5, Samsho 5, Svc Chaos Plus, ROTD, KOF2002 and Power Battle Matrimelee I would be very grateful. Finally we have updated character models (Garou Terry anyone) a tag team mode (A la Marvel Vs Capcom 2) and just plain old awsome game play. If it isn't dumped I'm definetely picking up the AES cartridge once I get a new power supply for my NEOGEO. Somebody get the AES and dump it already so I don't have to spend a small fortune to be playing such a wonderful game. If anyone wants any other games that have been recently released with their respective emulators just look up my AIM address in the Metal Slug 5 forum. You won't need any passwords or have to change any of the file names in the zips because I have done that already and all my roms are 100% working.

Hey anyone who wants NeoRageX hacked for metal slug five just IM me at XerotoNine on AIM. There just give me your email address and I will send a zipped NRX hacked with Mslug 5. If you want Samsho 5 or SVC Chaos amongst other games I have the hacked kawaks required to play them too. Every game I have works perfectly fine on my WinXP computer and none of my friends have had problems with my roms or emulators either. By the way, my hacked NRX only plays Mslug 5, you would need a regular NRX for all the rest.

Well my hacked NRX only plays MSlug 5. I have to use my regular one or Kawaks 1.46 for the rest. Anyways, Mslug 5 rocks. My only complaint is that it seems shorter than X and 3 and quite a bit easier too. Besides I think the energy ball effects could have been much cooler, Like the mother alien in Mslug 3 when you were in her lair. That was cool crap.

To tell all of you the truth I got into the whole emulation thing about 2 months ago after my NeoGeo went bust. I didn't want to get a Dreamcast because the sound for most of the games I have tried is off, especially for any of the Fatal Fury's including Garou:MOW. So I asked my friend who is into all sorts of illegal activities involving PCs and asked him about where I could find NeoGeo emulators and games and such. So I went and got all of the games I own already and I got hooked and started looking for the not so legal stuff Like MSLUG5 and SAMSHO V. So I'm pretty new to this and if there is anyone who can help me with this,I would really appreciate it. This has been the most informative forum I have had the pleasure to be on and all you people have way too much time on your hand to know all this stuff about emulation an rom sets and such, but thank god all of you do otherwise I'd be lost. I know I'm sounding like an idiot here, but I took some screen shots of Mslug 5 and I want to post them. I am new to this forum and it's a bit more cumbersome to use than my Max Payne forum. If someone could please instruct me on how to do so that would be wonderful.
