    To testers: A small post to say i will leave in holidays for about 3 weeks, so please stop reporting bugs or anything else ATM. This have been enough tested, most of stuff is ready and already posted on Neosource, i need to link them and release "my" latest build.

     

    He will be release as he is, i mean i will corrected nothing except the stuff i'm working on, so exclusively drivers. If you noticed a bug which was already in 1.28 (HD, inputs etc..) or in anothers versions, that's definitly not my problem.

     

    Seeya in August, Corsica sunshine is waiting for me and my friends moooooooooooo!

  2. Just after the site went down I did some testing for FBA too, but not in HD, so the following are all bugs that happen in standard definition and probably also in HD too.

     

    Firstly, if the first game launched is CPS2 the screen will be black but game audio will play. You must exit and launch again to fix the problem. This was mentioned before as a HD bug, but it isn’t, it happens all the time with the last build that was released. It didn't happen with the release before it.

     

    I’ve split the rest into categories:

     

    The following happen 100% of the time:

     

    Biomechanical Toy has serious visual errors. (biomtoy.zip)

    Hotdog Storm freezes after pressing start at the main menu. (hotdogst.zip)

    Legend of Silkroad has black diagonal lines across the screen. (silkroad.zip)

    Real Bout Fatal Fury freezes when entering in-game menu. (rbff1.zip)

    Shadow Force freezes at launching game message. (shadfrce.zip)

    Strikers 1945 freezes when entering the in-game menu. (s1945.zip)

     

    The following are sound related and happen 100% of the time:

     

    Best of Best has no sound effects in-game but music plays. (bestbest.zip)

    Knights of Valour has poor sound emulation in places. (kov.zip)

    Oriental Legend has poor sound emulation. (orlegend.zip)

    Power Instinct 2 has completely fucked up sound. (pwinst2.zip)

     

    The following have happened at least once but do not happen 100% of the time:

     

    Battle K Road freezes when changing a dip switch in the in-game menu. (btlkroad.zip)

    ESP Ra.de freezes on returning to the game after entering in-game menu. (esprade.zip)

    ESP Ra.de freezes aster selecting a character. (esprade.zip)

    Far East of Eden freezes when entering in-game menu. (kabukikl.zip)

    KOF 95 freezes on returning to the game after entering in-game menu. (kof95.zip)

    Metamoqester freezes on returning to the game after entering in-game menu. (metmqstr.zip)

    Out Zone shows only a green screen, then a purple one, then black. (outzone.zip)

    Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon freezes at launching game. (sailormn.zip)

    Pulstar freezes when entering in-game menu. (pulstar.zip)

    Samurai Shodown III freezes when entering in-game menu. (samsho3.zip)

    Strikers 1945 Plus freezes at launching game. (s1945p.zip)

     

    The following are sound related but do not happen 100% of the time:

     

    Samurai Shodown V has fucked up sound. Must restart FBA and launch again to fix. (samsho5.zip)

    SVC Chaos has fucked up sound. Must restart FBA and launch again to fix. (svc.zip)

     

    Misc:

     

    Forgotten Worlds need rotary joystick function. (forgotten.zip)

    SAR - Search and Rescue needs rotary joystick function. (searcher.zip)

     

    These two aren't bugs, but could do with sorting someow. For SAR there is a setting in the game’s dip switches that allows the game to be played with a single joystick but this hinders you as you can not sidestep.

     

    For the freezes that occur when entering or exiting the in game menu, it's possible that they are memory related, as it seems to be the memory hungry games where this occurs.

     

    Well most of issues you noticed (on Cave, Neogeo and Psikyo) as been fixed with my latest code. The real problem now is to link the stuff and release a last build, and i don't have time as much this month. As i don't use the emu myself :) , and also as i don't have HDTV, it's boring to work on it, just for users lol (it's at this point, really...). Until i release it you can check on Neosource if i post something and try to compile it, that's the best i can do for now.

  3. Ok here we go:

     

    'Others' Section issues -- HD mode

     

    gunbird.zip -- will always freeze when entering the in-game menu. Needs reboot afterward

     

    sailormn.zip -- gives 'There was an error starting rom" screen

     

    tengai.zip -- gives "There was an error starting rom" screen

     

    zerowing.zip -- boots to black screen with sound only, no graphics

     

    esprade.zip -- hangs at "Launching game.." screen. Needs reboot afterward

     

    guwange.zip -- boots with only background scrolling. No sprites are visible. It will eventually freeze if I leave the attract mode on or try playing it. Strange thing is, I got it to work one time by choosing it as first game when starting the emulator, but it still froze after a few minutes. Could be a memory issue.

     

    Catch it, i see wha i gonna do. And for dipswitches on Esparade, that's normal :huh:

     

    BTW zero wing works fine here! Moooooooooooooooooo!

     

    Edit: i need to know which cave games cause problems in 720P, except those previously reported.

    NeoGeo HD test 05/27/09

     

    aof3.zip -- will hang at the "Launching game..." message after selecting it

     

    The rest of the games below will give the "There was an error starting rom" message and the flashing background screen:

     

    breakrev.zip

    pulstar.zip

    rbff1.zip

    samsho3.zip

    wakuwak7.zip

     

    If you select one of these, then it will fail to launch it. From there, you will have to reset the emulator because no more NeoGeo games will work until you do. This seems like an easy issue to track down, Kenshiro.

     

    CPS1 and CPS2 are all working great.

  5. So this is the truely last FBA from Kenshiro, right?

    So far, all of the CPS2 roms I've tried boot in 720P and run better than they do on 1.28. I have tried all of the bigger ones like Progear, Xmen:cota, the Marvel games, SFA3, and Vampire Savior. I am still testing/playing, so I will be back.

     

    Happy to know it works... :thumbsup1::thumbsup1: but now i'm really frustrated with the issue :thumbsup1: lol, but that's minor it will be solved!

     

    And no, that's not the last build. I need to work on Neogeo games which have issue in HD. Moooooooooo!

     

    The best thing to do is etablished a list of Neogeo issues, then i will track them down.

  7. FBA loads most NeoGeo games faster I noticed, but once the games are running I found it's pretty level pegging for both FBA and CoinOps. With highly detailed games though, like the Metal Slugs, FBA does better as you can overclock the CPU to avoid slowdown. CoinOps doesn't have that feature.

     

    I meaned even if your eyes can't notice it, the emulation is more accurate. If you wanna have an idea check the documentation on MAWS, all details are there. The first example that comes in my mind is the proper decrytion of M1, which is recent (few months ago) :)

  8. Well... The code is finish, seems all works fine on my side, for CPS1, CPS2 (standard and phoenix sets). All CPS2 games have VMM. What's surprising me it's the fast loading time - can't see the difference with previous code (with no VMM). We'll see what happened with your crappy HDTV lol.

     

    As it's late here and i'm lazy lol, i gonna post it tomorrow on Neosource, and compile a fresh build.

  9. When exiting from a NeoGeo game and then selecting another -- this may hard freeze the emu, but it happens only twice after switching from encrypted parent sets to another set. I will test this more.

     

    I need more specific infos. Try reproduce it - and tell me exactly which games you launched :D

     

    These decrypted romsets will not show up in the game list:

    I have already generated the .Dats in the emu itself and rescanned the roms. Maybe I need to rename these. :afro:

     

    You simply have not the correct sets names, you have to renanme it :D

     

    I was also wondering what the issue is with aof1.zip and fatalfury1.zip because they don't boot. Kenshiro, you mentioned those as having issues in 720P. I was under the impression that my romset was incorrect. :P

     

    I see a possible reason... Have the same problem with KOM2, View point for example?

  10. You need to get the very latest revision of FBA-XXX Pro 1.29c. The one from this month. The NeoGeo category problem is fixed. I can't link to it for legals, and don't even have the link anymore coz it was removed by admins after it was posted in a different thread, which is where I got it. You'll have to search hard or ask Kenshiro probably.

     

     

    I am truly, truly so disappointed by today's news. I guess it doesn't matter now. The emulator will never be finished. 720P support for some of the games, but not for the rest of them is even more of an issue which is why I put it as number 1.

     

    Thanks for letting me know that there is a version out there that fixes the rom folder issue, but I may not ever be able to find it. He normally sent builds to everyone's email, but I was left out of that one somehow.

     

    I wish Kenshiro the best and I really hope he's doing well. Even though he quit the project, I hope he doesn't forget about us.

  11. Honestly it's not dramatic...

     

    Here's a simple code which explains a lot of things:

     

    float free_time = total_time - job_time - sleep_time - gf_time - family_time;

     

    The most reason i let the project is a terrible lake of time, really.

     

    i'ne some stuff ready since weeks (CPS2 VMM etc...) and they will be post on Neosource, i can even compile a last build.

     

    We'll see what happened, but honestly leading a project isn't definitly for a guy like me. I love spent a lot of time on piece of code, try to write it as best as possible, but leading the totality... No way.

     

    Also, what i do is on my free time, and don't get monet for that, i do it exclusively cause i love this old arcade games and it gives me the bamboo lol.

  12. THis thread now turns to provocation. No worries, i've seen worst things in my life, and will probably see anothers. Erm that's just an Xbox emulator lmao that will not change ours life.

     

    As i announced that i leave the FBA-XXX Pro project as he is and stop working on it (i didn't take this decision now but 1 weeks ago, and announced it on others forums) i will start a thread and post links to latest drivers i've been working on. then don't post anymore here.

     

    At least the half of the members who posted in that c****** thread don't know the reasons why i said that kind of things to BP, so honestly stop giving me advices. Look at the most forum i usually post, i'm not familiar with flamming, my post are always short, there are a few, and most time it's for posting a source code or something, not for crying "i need help" all the five minutes like some specialist here.

  14. not at all dont see why I would it was only the last release where I changed any line of mame code ever before that it was mamedox 1.1 drivers so all that rubbish was just rubbish also I just used there cpp unedited apart from the keymap code the mame side was left untouched and the GUI was altered only...... I would have love to have talked to them.

  15. well i gave it to you......... once. Rastan X has it for sure he asked after last build, think strike grabbed it last time as well ask them for it they are on from time to time..... I have no issues with you 2 handing it over posting it or setting it up on sourceforge turn it into a buggy mess I dont care, ill release a source soon in a usable form of some kind and Ill concentrate on my new project.

     

    Im offically out of CoinOPS public releases now.....

     

    As always i understood nothing lol

     

    So no problems to post a link for the sources here i assume?
