  1. If you wanted FBL to use 3.0 you'd have to just include the appropriate neogeo.zip in the release. I personally think that would be a good idea. Finding the correct neogeo.zip for emulators is something that a lot of people have trouble with, having it already in with the emulator would save the trouble.

    I'm assuming that Nes will not do that, as it is illegal. And usually Emu authors never help to find or included roms in the release. I don't think findind the correct Neogeo bios is dificult - i just think people are mostly lazy and don't wanna take five minutes to understand why it doesn't work, how to use a dat file etc... I don't think what i'm saying is rude, it's mostly the truth. Mooooo.

    Also gunbarich doesnt load.

    This one works now :1st:

    A speed up on the fuuki games would be awesome too.

    If you're talking about Asura Blade and Buster, the best way to go will be to try it in 480P / without filters. I don't think the drawing stuff could be optimized as much (or it will less accurate). This game already use a VMM - and it was kind of a pain in my ass to write it, probably one of the most ball breaker one lol

    I would hope that that step be seriously considered. If you ask me there's no question of ethics involved as the sale of the Unibios is unethical in itself. It contains SNK's original code which only SNK has the rights to sell. Buying the UniBios is buying stolen code. Using the free older versions is still using stolen code. Using the original bioes is also using stolen code unless you own the original NeoGeo board it came on. By including 3.0 in FBL it wouldn't be breaking the law any more or any less, it would just stop the makers of the UniBios from profiting a little further from thier theft.

    There is a implicit rule in some emulators like FBA - the latest Unibios version is the latest Razoola released for free, so ATM the 2.3. And hell it's a detail :)

  2. About the NeoGeo greenscreen. In FBA-XXX Pro you can switch between all the different bioes, including the different UniBios versions. In version 2.0 and onward of the UniBios, there are options at a game's first boot which you can set, which include under 'General Bios settings' the option to 'Disable BootUp HW test'. This gets rid of the green screen, which in some cases like KOF 2003 cuts some wait time, as that game displays the green screen for quite a while. I always used UniBios 2.0 in XXX-Pro coz it also has the option to disable the UniBios Logo splash screen which I don't like. For some reason in the later versions you can't. Now I haven't actually tried FBL yet, but I'm guessing there's not an option to use the UniBioes? If there was you could all kiss goobye to the green screen forever.

    I must admit, the UniBIOS 2.0 is nice. I don't know if it causes problems for the emulation, but it is nice to be able to set the country, Arcade/AES mode, and disable the green screen. Several Neo Geo games start a LOT faster when disabling the green screen test. I know it's not accurate emulation, but it does make things start faster.

    I did some investigations (as i'm not familiar as much with Unibios), and here is what i've found after five minutes of search in google lol It is an extract of the unibios 2.3 read me:

    - Disable BootUp HW Test

    This option forces the UNIVERSE BIOS to skip some hardware tests at power on,

    it makes booting faster but you have no guarantee the system is in full working

    order. This option is on by default.

    It means that we can use directly the 2.3 version, without use the outdated 2.0. It would not be a bad idea to make 2.3 the default Neogeo bios in FBL, that' is the easy way to go. I wrote some piece of code who allows to select whatever bios before starting a game (all those supported in FBA, IIRC there is 23 bios).

    I will send you this as soon as possible Nes6502, i've also some more (interesting? :thumbsup1: ) Neogeo stuff. Mooooooo.

  3. Agreed. There is also much shorter loading times, and the sets are the latest referenced in MAME, so definitely more accurate. That's a very important point.

    BTW Nes, as i don't work today (sweet lol), i did some changes to Neogeo drivers. Please check your PM box later in the day. Moooooooo!

  4. nes6502 you were right about Garou. Didn't think it would take 5 - 10 minutes to load that rom. That's unbelievable.

    I can confirm that. On my side i don't play in HD, it needs a bit less than one minute to get the green screen (which is normal, C-X required kind of nasty decryption algo, 64 Mo of RAM are ridiculous at that point). Then i waited about one minute to see the game boot, then it runs perfectly. Hopefully it affects very few games - some Garou sets and kof99. I knew i've already heard about that kind of things in previous FBA-XXX normal and 1.28 pro version, sometimes some guys could wait for 5 minutes before start to play lol (in HD resolutions).

    If anyone noticed more games who have this "problem" can you post them please.

    Is anybody else getting a green screen just before the system logo appears when a NeoGeo rom loads? Doesn't affect anything, but could it be a problem with my NeoGeo bios?

    That's absolutly normal, you can noticed the same thing in MAME or the official FBA. Just the bios checking what's in RAM.

  5. I knew that build will be something, but at this point... All i can say is it is an amazing emulator. The GUI is perfect, a lot of options, and sets are accurate, games runs smooth. The first problem i got was "well, what i can play?" lmao.

    Amazing work Nes, nothing more to say. If you're not married you really should lol. BTW, if you wanna some help to add or fix some more VMM games just let me know. I'm 200% motivated, maybe more. Moooooooooooooooo!

    Every one should give to Nes a small kiss

  6. any progress report this week NES6502

    I'm not adding any more games. The games that work now are the only games I'll be adding. I am trying to fix a few last bugs in the GUI. Then I will release 1.0. Then I will work on fixing anything that crashes the Xbox. If there is nothing, then that will be the final version. It's pretty feature rich so there arn't any more features I'll be adding.

    Most games work on my port that work on FBA-XXX Pro. A few PGM games don't. None of the newer PGM or CPS3 games work. I did get D. D. Crew to run but I had to get rid of the GUI. It only ran at around 24 FPS. So it's not worth it. Every game I've tested works in 480i/p, 720p. and 1080i. I haven't found a game yet that crashed the Xbox in HD. I've got most or all of NeoGeo, CPS2, Cave, Psykio, Toaplan, and Sega games working (most running perfectly) thanks to Kenshiro's code and help. The Simpsons, TMNT, TMNT Turtles in Time, Sunset Riders, all run flawlessly in 1080i with software filters at 60 FPS. That's just a small example. In fact, that can be said for nearly all games. I would say the release is within 2 weeks.

    Does anyone know if there is anywhere to get WMV movies for FBA? I don't want to buy a membership to EmuMovies (and then have to convert them to wmv) and the RessurextionX videos are all for consoles.

    All of that sounds good. Great great work Nes6502! Moooo!

  7. R4 was stopped 100percent by 3 people (cba, neil222 and ice) it has been ready for weeks maybe even a month and progressing along nicely and as it should

    Before leave to my job, i just wanna post my opinion here, even if it means shit. I'm really sick of all i read on 1emulation and Xbox scene this latest days. 90% of subjects are related to CoinOps, or at least massive flamming and insane shit.

    Cbagy, Iceman and Neil are really good guys, even if they get me a bit tired recently, due to that massive flamming on forums. What i thinking actually is the following things:

    - I can't believe you stop working on CoinOps because of those three guys, if it's the case that's one of the dumbest thing i never saw. You're still free to work on your side, use the option "ignore users" in your control panel (as a guy suggest it on the Xbox scene forums). Whatever what they can say no?

    - Neil, Cbagy and Iceman are some quiet people. For what reasons they're now craping in your shoes? Well, have a quick view of what do you said recently BP, here and on Xbox scene, about them, and you'll probably understand. I will not even say 25% of what do you said to my worst enemy. I don't know if you realize it but i really get chocked and unfortunaly i'm not alone, some others devs and users noticed it.

    To conclude, a slap on the butt for everyone :bye1: If someone doesn't like my opinion or what i said, feel free to PM me, then we'll have a blow up doll party to get relax. Moo.

    Edit: wow just noticed the thread is closed now. Pretty cool, no one will repply anymore to give their opinions.

  8. Sorry to see you go, moo man. Pass me the last of the work and i'll put it up on the site for everyone.

    I have to say, i'm pretty bummed right now, but i can't blame you. much luck in your further adventures

    The problem is i have nothing to pass you, i only have a messy - unfinished source code, and as i said before i will not work on it anymore. Sorry.

  9. Bummer. I have been patiently following this beta thread for all those many months. Week to week i was like, yeah they release that thing soon, i come back next week.

    LOL.

    I really hope someone else picks this xxx pro thing up. I'm outta here. Cheers.

    Yeah that's what i did when i saw that a guy was working on 1.29, and never release it. Then i started to work on it. Thanks for that friendly repply (it's a sarcasm before you ask), by reading that i think i really took the good decision, i'm now free to do what i want and not working anymore on an emulator that i don't even use myself.

  10. Well... Everyone here starts really get me tired. You should relax. When someone annoying me or if i don't like to speak with someone, i leave him alone. Is there a moderator somewhere or not? Damm it.

    You could do:

    for (int i = 0; i < number_of_time_you_wanna_repeat_the_sentence; i++) {

    printf("I havent locked it ive only added feature after feature\n");

    }

    }

    Edit: another trick

    while (people_who_is_annoying_me_is_speaking) {

    printf("La bite au cul\n");

    }

  11. lmao I'll try to explain the origins with my poor english.

    One character in the manga Hokuto no Ken (i mean in the book, not that insane and horrible cartoon). were always saying "Muuu" when something disturbs him lol. Since my chilhood i love to find some noise and break my friends balls with it. So when we were at school, each week there was a new one (some of them like "moooo" are still there after years).

    "Hey dude how it's going?"

    "Moooooooooo!"

    "lol what's that again?"

    "The new one crazy shit that Quentin found..."

    What i noticed over the years, when you repeat something a lot of times, then everyone make it once a while lol. I was a big player of Halo2 on Xbox live long time ago, i get more than guy crazy with some "Mooooooo!" during the game. Sometimes everyone were saying it at the end of the game lol. So actually "Mooooo" means mostly "all's fine, all's cool" or also "what you're saying doesn't interest me". All the guys i know since the childhood still do it.

  12. any more of this crap the next version will be encrypted and xmls locked and anything else I feel like into one encryted but smaller file

    You've done some great work on CoinOPS BP. But in my opinion this kind of comment and attitude is disgraceful for a developer. That's all I've got to say here.

    Moooooooooo! I can still post moooooooooo!

  13. Thanks for the support guys, It's like a syringe of adrenalin straight to the ass!

    Related to Psikyo SH drivers, i will post them on Neosource as a new FBA has been released today, with as always the sources code. So i've no reasons to keep them, that was a security. Moo.

  14. how are things coming along with your fba legends emulator nes?

    Finished updating the core to the latest FBA tonight. Now working on getting all the VM code added so CPS2, NeoGeo, PGM, and Cave games work.

    Then I will work on bugs in the GUI

    I'm starting over on the core update. A new FBA version was released today.

    lol it's always like that unfortunaly. Good luck! This release seems a real "bamboo maker" BTW, Treble Winner and iq did some great work. Mooooooooo!
