  2. Bet none of you knew that Disney lost a lot of IPs over teh last few years, thus getting larger net loss every year. For example, they lost the rights to Winnie the Pooh, that alone is a 5 billion dollar franchise and Disney no longer has it. Marvel is their new money maker! Like I said before, this benefits Marvel because now they have a near limitless cash reserve for fucked up projects like Rulk.

  3. Official Press Release

Worldwide leader in family entertainment agrees to acquire Marvel and its portfolio of over 5,000 characters

BURBANK, Calif. & NEW YORK, Aug 31, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- --Acquisition highlights Disney's strategic focus on quality branded content, technological innovation and international expansion to build long-term shareholder value

Building on its strategy of delivering quality branded content to people around the world, The Walt Disney Company (DIS) has agreed to acquire Marvel Entertainment, Inc. (MVL) in a stock and cash transaction, the companies announced today.

Under the terms of the agreement and based on the closing price of Disney on August 28, 2009, Marvel shareholders would receive a total of $30 per share in cash plus approximately 0.745 Disney shares for each Marvel share they own. At closing, the amount of cash and stock will be adjusted if necessary so that the total value of the Disney stock issued as merger consideration based on its trading value at that time is not less than 40% of the total merger consideration.

Based on the closing price of Disney stock on Friday, August 28, the transaction value is $50 per Marvel share or approximately $4 billion.

"This transaction combines Marvel's strong global brand and world-renowned library of characters including Iron Man, Spider-Man, X-Men, Captain America, Fantastic Four and Thor with Disney's creative skills, unparalleled global portfolio of entertainment properties, and a business structure that maximizes the value of creative properties across multiple platforms and territories," said Robert A. Iger, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company. "Ike Perlmutter and his team have done an impressive job of nurturing these properties and have created significant value. We are pleased to bring this talent and these great assets to Disney."

"We believe that adding Marvel to Disney's unique portfolio of brands provides significant opportunities for long-term growth and value creation," Iger said.

"Disney is the perfect home for Marvel's fantastic library of characters given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses," said Ike Perlmutter, Marvel's Chief Executive Officer. "This is an unparalleled opportunity for Marvel to build upon its vibrant brand and character properties by accessing Disney's tremendous global organization and infrastructure around the world."

Under the deal, Disney will acquire ownership of Marvel including its more than 5,000 Marvel characters. Mr. Perlmutter will oversee the Marvel properties, and will work directly with Disney's global lines of business to build and further integrate Marvel's properties.

The Boards of Directors of Disney and Marvel have each approved the transaction, which is subject to clearance under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act, certain non-United States merger control regulations, effectiveness of a registration statement with respect to Disney shares issued in the transaction and other customary closing conditions. The agreement will require the approval of Marvel shareholders. Marvel was advised on the transaction by BofA Merrill Lynch.

  5. Well, if the PSP version is selling well in the West, they might consider porting it to PSP in near future. So, buy the PSP version 1st!

Fun fact, Atlus USA doesn't have a word in what Atlus Japan does concerning series. P3P is coming out in Japan first and will no doubt be localized in the US. Atlus Japan has said they won't make or enhance Persona 4. Persona 5 was accidentally announced last (?) month for PS3 also. Port Job =/= New Game is not the same thing like Persona 1. If anything, P3P is just another remix of Persona 3, similar to how FES is to 3.

  6. Persona 3 is what shot the game to it's levels of popularity now as before, it was a niche RPG title before P3 came out. Pretty much all Shin Megami Tensei games were pretty much niche titles up until P3 came out.

That saying, Persona became popular again that Atlus re-printed Persona 2 EP for PSX to hype the release of Persona 4.

I would rank Persona better than most of those games. Because all those have become too fluffy compared to their past incarnations. I would recommend FES over P3P though. Only because FES has the epilogue, and we'll never get a Persona 4 FES. Chances are for a Persona 4 enhanced remake is pretty slim considering there isn't much to add other than gameplay tweaks and optimizations compared to what FES and P3P are.

    - 5 levels of difficulty.

Not really a remake, it's been told that it's a port of The Journey with new stuff.

  8. Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp pretty much know what to do with the Halo movie, the only problems are Universal, Fox and Microsoft. They've got everything already planned out but they just gave up in the end. But at the end, we got District 9, so it isn't a loss at all.

With the way Blomkamp handled the short Halo videos, the Halo movie directed by him would of no doubt be as entertaining and compelling as D9.

Also, as far as I know, Spielberg only produced Band of Brothers and had no hand in directing any of it.
