I was reading a faq and accidently saw some information about the post game dungeon. All I know is its there... And I know at the very least how many levels it has... What I am saying, is if you have no gaps in your beastery, the missing monsters may be in said dungeon. But 50 is a hell of alot... Perhaps there are more places to discover than you think. You say last last dungeon... ((dont confirm or deny please...)) which seems to me that once you thought it was done it wasnt, therefore fighting even more shit. Perhaps there is something past that even?
Oh... remember all those personal action situations and such. apparently you can miss ALOT of stuff... as in endings or whatever. What if this is factored into the missing monsters too? Just a thought... seems a bit of a stretch, that one.
Any way, Id rather have 3 or 4 % regen now and the rest XP. That convert skill is SICK. Use it twice or so and yer full.
Yea Bacchus spams Black Hole Sphere, Termination, Force Breaker & Irradiation. The girls spam theyre spells and sometimes when I kill of a guy and im on the edge of the arena, I turn around and see stuff n the middle like a giant black hole, with giant red beams shooting down through the sky, a giant sphere of electricity, huge pillars of white light shooting up, clusters of missiles and streams of lightning, beams of energy ripping the ground to pieces it chaotic explosions with hurricanes and giant domes of fire... all going off sequentially... overlapping each other. I dont even run over there sometimes as its already over... Im sure your characters do the same. Ya almost feel sorry for the bastards.

So the game just recently got badass... but even then its filled with moment where if I were there... Id say " SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! Theres a giant space dragon the size of America, made of energy, with hordes of neverending ships, RIGHT FUCKING THERE!!! Why the fuck are you guys talking about this shit right now??? LETS GO!!!

Im only versed in 2D Metroid. Never really played any of the primes. Oh... I own Hunters. Was gonna buy the Prime pack on Wii but slacked and missed it, they dont print it anymore... I gotta find it used. Which is about as rare as finding Chrono Trigger for the DS... It happens but you gotta wait for it, and jump on it.

Hmm. I still cant wait. All I really want is visual depth, I dont wish to see 3D overdose which will be a given. Comes with the territory though. But I have a vision of 3D done right, hopefully I will get to see it.

I picked the game back up after a year. I was on the Cardianon mother ship when I left it so I was pretty early on. Now Im on Nox Obscurus: Ravine of Extinction and everyone is past lvl 60. Edge is +75. A few days ago I got all green tiles and grinded on Lemuris for quests and items. I already had +2500 party SP but began to dump alot while I got more. When I hit Nox Obscurus Lymle and Sarah were lowest leveled so I ran with them. I realized how much I didnt play with them recently and practically had no skills powered up. I dumped about 3000 SP right there on the spot, I maxed everything!
They were running great but we had a storm and the power flickered about an hour in and so I gotta do all that again...
Anyway, thats where I am. I made a Slayer's Bangle... holy shit if you dont have one... make one NOW!!! It randomly adds another hit per EVERY hit, including special moves! I have that now, and that Platinum sword with Increased Criticals X1 and HP dammage +%20 X3 and I put 4 more crystal in it so basically rips through anything. I am set to Burst and so I Rush mode constantly. That boss at the core of EN II kept calling back its drones so I kept the Rush going for over 2 min... It stayed at 100 basically. I had like a 350 hit combo before I got jipped out of it.
But anyway with Burst, My sword, and a Slayers Bangle- along with Crit up on my battle skills, I destroy. The combo I use is Stampede Slash, Rising Blade X4, then Celestial Sword. I have been using Bacchus and he has maxed out Black Hole Sphere, Termination, Force Breaker & Irradiation. He spams those ridiculously and absolutely owns... along with absolutely eating up his MP. This is no problem as he has the Convert skill so when he gets low after about 20 battles, I switch to him and use that a few times. Black Hole Sphere is too good.
Agozer, you mentioned you run out of MP but I dont see how. But I am not as far as you, I imagine they take alot of punishment. I constantly spam my moves with Edge and with %4 regen after a battle, he can go almost indefinitely... but of course everyone else is spamming moves too. Battles run about 20 seconds. Do you have the Convert skill? Or Symbolic Weapon (which is inferior)?
Have you been Synthesizing?

Well unless PSP2 is 3D... And even so, Nintendo seems to run the show on the handheld 3rd parties. What Im saying, (unless Im unaware) is there are more games I want on DS (which I own) than on PSP.
3 fucking D. I cant believe it. Who-da-tought 25 years ago when NES hit... with our VCR's, 4:3 TV's with turn nobs, tape decks, roller skates, and corded phones... that one day youd be able to hold in your hand, a little box with graphics you couldnt even imagine... IN 3D!!!
I may not be a fan on Nintendo anymore... but I give credit where credit is due. This 3DS is a stupendous idea. I hope companies are ready for it... Konami Co. already has my vote for most competent. They gave Kojima a chance with Metal Gear Solid back on playstation... That game is still amazing. The level of depth, they presented a superior product across all boards. Story, dialog, character development, interactions, graphics were pushed to the very limits. No cut scenes for streamless story telling (as to not remove you from the game ((as in a visual reminder that you are watching a game)) Does anyone recall how amazing the rumble feature was implemented in that game? From the feel of an approaching Hind, to feeling Merryl's pulse to see if she was alive (in which Snake did not have to say "she's still alive" to clue in the audience) Psycho Mantis telling me "You like Castlevania, don't you?" For a split second I was like "WHAAAAAAT!" After the next fraction of a second passed and I realized it read my memory card... I was still impressed. I can go on and on but any connoisseur of gaming will admit that the level of quality on the first MGS alone was staggering. The game is badass. Kojima Co. must employ the best of the best of the best. Extreme vision. Forward thinking. Outside the box... outside the building that the box was in even.
Point? I hope companies put in at least a fraction of what Kojima Co. brought to the table. Games that were truly worthy. I hope there are a good amount of games that do 3DS right.

Aaaand they dont have replacements. How can Sega replace sonic... their a sunken ship. Mario scores higher than Santa Clause on the worldwide recognition scale.
I wish they would retire... Im sick of seeing them. Not that I play, just knowing they are there is bad enough.

I'm currently in on a planet that feels and seems like the very definitely final dungeon of sorts, but it can't be because I'm missing around 50 different monster, a bunch a weapon and spaceship data, etc. etc. The dungeon in that particular planet is kind of a bitch, too. Bit too fond of obscure puzzles. Excellent place to level up your party though. ~30,000-50,000 EXP for from a battle isn't shabby by any means.Perhaps you missed some quests, and perhaps there is a post game dungeon. Yea the bonus grid is usually set to %100 XP and %4 recharge for me. I get 14 green tiles and grind weak monsters for items and pts. I can only imagine how much ruin I will create when I get the end game items.

Yea I am interested in what is going to happen next, it does have its moments. I felt much gratification beating the Aeos (2nd run) boss. Somehow I didnt loose my bonus board!
Ahh... the games innuendo moments are fantastic. Just descriptive enough to say WTF... many many times. What the fuck IS taboo in Japan?!?!?!

Resumed Star Ocean TLH after about a year. Battle system is great but the dialog is rancid. So many things about the game get me poking fun at it. The one that stands out significantly to me right now... is how someone says something deep or emotional or compelling... and someone will say theyre name.
Example. Edge: "We do it for our future, for our dreams." Reimi: "Edge..." I dont know what this literary device is called... but they do it constantly. Every character in your party, except Bacchus, does this... I can see this perhaps once or twice... but I have seen it over 30 times now no lie. And Im only halfway through the game.
The way the story plays out... how the characters interact grates my nerves. But the game is so good (to us select few) I can easily get over it. But honestly... this is one of the most irritating JRPG's I have EVER played. Inky... this would be your kryptonite!
I can "crushing walls of text" all the ridiculous, stupid, rancid, idiotic etc. but I wont. I will say the game is fun as hell. I hope whoever was in charge, and whoever designed certain aspects (writers, character designers, etc.) are fired permanently. The next Star Ocean better not be so lacking.

Pfft Its all opinion. By the way Mario Galaxies was one of the best platform games I have ever seen.
I can still tell you if a game is good or not even if I dont like it. Provided I played it enough. But there is a definite lack of supreme quality games across the board, on any platform. Even considering the opinion factor.
Yes Nintendo has stayed afloat by innovation. For the longest time the handheld market kept them going. With the Wii Nintendo has indeed kept the flame going. The money they must make is staggering. So many units sold and that thing musnt cost much to make.
And there doing it yet again (innovation) with a 3D handheld system. It genius. Ill have one on release... and be transfixed. Id put money on that.

I hate on Nintendo... but DS is better than you claim Emsley. Infinite Space, Dragon Quest IX, 3 Castlevanias etc. There are good ass games on it. I play the DS laying on my bed or couch sometimes.

Command and Conquer Commanders Challenge on 360
RTS on console is aggravating. They also seem to not have some of the 'ole options, like a group of different units moving the speed of the slowest unit, force fire, pacing to and fro, group quick select or quick map jump (from mini map)
It'd be alot easier on a computer, but the game is fun and challenging enough to hold my interest.

All nintendo ever did for me after SNES, is create handheld platforms for good games... which said games were practically not 1st party. I am amazed at Wii's success actually. The games are so retarded. I see tons of ppl (non gamers) playing the Mii bullshit games, boxing and so on. They even have wii sports RIPOFFS!!!! Amazing... They think it is soooo fun. Who woulda known to make rancid, easy games that look stupid so they dont intimidate the focus market group. I read about people complaining that Nintendo gets unwarranted hate... but what true gamer is going to play the small handful of games that are good, over the virtual TOWER of games on any other platform. Fuck the wii [/rant]
So yea... I am looking forward to Metal Gear, Castlevania, Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy mainly.

I knew Id buy one as soon as I heard about it. When I learned about some of the specs months back it was a done deal, solidifying my decision.
The depth of the 3D is fantastic they say. I dont care that the screen has to be centered, its a small price to pay to not wear 3D glasses. As for the graphics, think of it like this. Remember PS2 or any other system release vs end on console life? By now texture mapping tech is off the charts. And with nifty tricks learned along the way, like the system used to tweak Grand Turismo on the PS2, they can jam out the most information possible efficiently.
I just hope good measures are taken when making the games. Lord knows all but one of the 3D movies I've ever seen were filled with lame gimmicks. Id be happier with a great game with visual depth alone, rather than have gimmicks flying around and at your face.
With the screen (much) smaller than my DSXL, the graphics should look pretty tight, even though the resolution is pretty crap. But what do you expect from 2 pixels sharing the same space (so to speak)... (1 for each eye)
When did Nintendo make a good game? Ever hear of Metroid? How about Super Metroid?? Yea... arguably one of the best games ever.

Things are rough all over, it does make me sick and wonder why celebs get paid so much fucking money. like Jlo she just signed a yr deal for American Idol to be a judge for 12 million dollars, thats just insane all that money to sit on tv for an hr and be a prissy bitch. i think all of us on this site together will never see 12 million and we work our asses off all the time.

Yea thats a rip off. You guys have a much higher value on your buck. Over here... where the economy sucks ass... that kind of work generally pays alot. Say min wage is $10 an hour. Cali and NY etc. That kind of job will likely earn over $15 an hour. And they have long hours. When Min was just over $7 I was making over $9 and I was basically an apprentice. Specialists, and working for a good company should easily make somewhere around $16 to $25 an hour considering where you are. Problem is, over here, the market is down so new businesses and dwellings are not being built as much. Folks with that skill set are hurting as there isnt much work.
Yea getting a "break" falls under determination too. You often have to trudge through the bullshit until there is an availability. Fucked up thing is alot of the jobs available over here are marketing. In India, Telemarketing is the big thing. They all think its awesome. I watched some show where a guy lost his job so they sent him to india to learn of the situations of how he lost his job. While talking to them, one said that India has more people of superior ability. What a dumb ass. That is never the case. It is bottom line bang for your buck. These people do the same job... take it more seriously cause their slums make our worst ghettoes look like Disney Land no lie... and so they work for nothing cause to them it pays great! I seen their slums, it looks like Louisiana after the Hurricane... but with people living in the rubble.
The powers that be try to consolidate their shit to make the most money. Outsourcing... I hate when I all Microsoft about my acct and Im speaking to someone in India. I have no gripe with them but this is an American based company and I want to speak to someone who doesnt ask what I just said "Im sorry I dont understand"
Point is, opportunity is hard to find. Companies are throttling the life out of everything. The big wigs have +50,000$ cars, +500,000$ homes, etc etc and the guy at the bottom scrapes by to live.
The world is very similar to how it has always been. Kings and Pharos with slaves or peasants that cannot do better and make the man even more money. Im not saying communism is the answer. I think someone with skills should make the money their due... but with the way the world is... opportunities are slim. The powers that be make too much money if you ask me. Whoever owns Mc Donalds is sitting pretty... and thats a damn shame. Fuck Mc Donalds, fuck those who eat Mc Donalds, Fuck everything that sucks ass. Fuck Arbies, Fuck EA, Fuck the cable and internet companies, Fuck the power bill, Fuck the phone bill, Fuck the respective owners of telemarketing firms, Fuck politicians, Fuck whoever is responsible for the gas prices, Fuck them all.

I havent picked up shank but I will eventually. Hard Corpse looks fun, but again, these games will get boring.
The games that held my interest the most were games with solid gameplay and lots of content. MMORPG's like Asherons Call and WoW did the job... but I spoke with a friend last night. He said he would like to play a game with his buddies and does not need the MM part of ORPG's. We were talking about Two Worlds II. Although the first one was pretty bad, it did have its merits.
Im sick of the game scene. Companies are canned all the time and the same old shit keeps coming out. Alot of us are busy, jobs/ family/ etc. We dont have the time to grind to get to the next level or awesome item. Making a game easy to accomplish something and a game as in depth as Asherons Call and WoW are generally exclusive.
When it comes to replay value, only a select few games held me. Darius Gaiden & Guardian Heroes were amazing. Both had multiple paths to choose so every time you played you had some sense of difference. DG was basically a great shooter and playing over and over was a blast. GH had multiple paths to get new characters and explore possible endings. It also had RPG elements mixed with an odd platform playstyle.
RE5's mercenaries is actually more fun that the actual game. Im currently trying to top my high score on the first level and its challenging.
Speaking of the state of games... look at Front Mission!!! They changed the strategy element and swapped it for 3rd person action shooter! How are you gonna change Chess into Hungry Hungry Hippos. Im just saying... There is already a mech game and its been out forever. Armored Core has 10 titles for consoles before it even hit the next gen systems. I liked Front Mission games for the strategy. Fucking assholes at the top changed the whole thing to get more customers and make more money... but they are sacrificing those like me who wanted STRATEGY!!!
Look at EA. Years back they started buying up gaming companies like mad but a year or so later... started folding a majority of said companies. They werent making enough for EA's liking I suppose.
There needs to be some new companies that make games that just arent getting made. Games that are focused on Hardcore gamers. I have a ton of games for the 360 and yet only a handful are amazing.
Sure what I say is based on opinion... But I can say with conviction, that my ideals are superior. Superior at the very least to those who value quality. There are a great many games I do not like and its primarily a matter of sloppy ideas thrown together quickly to hammer out a game to rush to press so the powers that be can make a profit. There motivation is PROFIT! My motivation has always been quality, perfection. In business practice sense, I am rare. I got in arguments with a boss I had once, allow me to highlight this so you can see the difference clearly.
I worked many years for Subway sandwiches. I can still to this day make a sandwich of superior quality. Every action I preformed on the sub had a purpose. Placement of meat, cheese, vegetables, seasonings/condiments. My bread was perfectly baked, even my cookies were the best. I learned the baking form my old boss. Absolute perfection I assure you. The boss in question that didnt see it my way would jam out subs as quickly as she could. Meatballs for instance were not evenly placed, cheese was thrown haphazardly on. Id fix her mistake when she passed it to me and she would sigh. She said "it doesnt matter how it looks"... BULLSHIT!!! Every bite, every aspect of my subs were superior. She would say it doesnt matter cause there already here and they are somewhat committed to it already so who cares. She did not realize that even though I took alittle more time to perfect something, I worked so fast that it did not hinder the flow of the line. I can still make sandwiches faster than the cashier can ring them up. So what is the problem??? All that matter in most cases in business is the bottom line. They disregard quality most often... I say, if my sandwiches are superior, they will remember. At least the ones who actually appreciate it. And those costumers do indeed come back. No lie... I had customers (IN MANY OF MY PROFESSIONS) ask for me specifically. I once had a lady who brought back a small cheesecake when I helped her when I worked at ACE Hardware. As for subway... I had people who asked for me to make their sandwiches. That made me feel good. Anyway, my subs were amazing. Ask Solidious! He remembers my pics of the mountain of Nachos when I got FFXIII! Who here remembers my recipe for Oatmeal Cookies! Quality is my key concern. If the product and service is superior, the money will come in. That is my bottom line. As for the rest of the world... look at Burger King. They had Whoppers for 99 cents. It now costs 2.50. The way the world works is if it sells, raise the price. Look at gas, price raised. Why... bottom line, cause we need it.
I hate fastfood. Really. I turn 32 in a few weeks. I have had more fast food "meals" than alot of you. Im sick of it. Now Id rather go to Fuddruckers and pay 7.00 for a 1 lb burger of epic proportions than pay 2 bucks on a couple of Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers at Wendys. I like, I respect, I need quality. I fucking hate half assed anything. And obviously games are on that list. I do not want to play the game equivalent of a Jr. Bacon Cheese... I want that Fuddruckers burger! Unfortunately for games... the price isnt the key to know if its quality like food. Games are generally the same price. Within $10 difference new.
Im fucking sick of the powers that be jamming out BULLSHIT games... just like my old boss. Where are the game making equivalents to me? There are so few... Im willing to bet they are forced to work on some bullshit game as the opportunity to do otherwise is slim. Its just like when I had to work at 7-11 or Burgerking. I needed money so I worked there... Its a fucking shame when an individual is in a situation where they cannot be their best. It stands to reason they are out there but are stuck.
I need to make games. Oooor at the very least open up a restaurant...

I played RE4 to death. Great game. My sister beat it 3 times.
5 is great. They made it easy as you can grind for ammo but the game still gets it done. Im actually playing it right now, not a challenge though... as I have earned those weapons... Mercenaries is the most gratifying though.

I used to think it was too many games. Perhaps I am spoiled from when I first got the 360. Buying up a title every week or so. More and more new games. Now I played everything and shit is just dull.
RE5 is great... yet I tire of it after an hour.
DQ is great but now im practically sick of it.
When I played Asherons Call, I had 6 weeks of playtime easily. Sounds like Wow huh. But those two games have tons of contend and things to do. These console games are limited on content and the rinse and repeat scenario happens much quicker.
I try to chip away at GTA IV but tire of that too. I dont know, I can only take so much. I need something stellar to appease me.
