  1. So you can keep the characters' levels, yeah? Given that, the monsters also get some kind of stat boots or something?

This question is confusing. Keep the levels as opposed to what? Im talking about post game, not new game. And why would monsters get a stat boost? Is this some mechanic from The End of Time I am unaware of?

Once you beat the game, you can continue on with post game content. I read that before you beat the game, the cap is 100. Once beaten, the cap is raised and you continue along. Enemies are the exact same as they always have been from the start.

  2. While company sites do like to showcase the new titles, they're often filled with too much marketing speech and gimmicks (and flashy Flash animations) to be of use as a veritable information source (considering the things I want to know). There are exceptions, of course.

Indeed. I have often wanted to find out about something, hit the site, then end up being disappointed as all I see is flashy marketing. Nothing pertaining to what I want to know.

Well thats cool, the aspect that you know this stuff, not the reason for it of course. I'll be reading up and getting familiar with anything I can think of.

  3. My whole point for knowing developers/publishers, was to have that knowledge for myself. To be able to identify a companies work. Might sound ridiculous but the more I know and realize, the more I can connect the dots.

so, Agozer. How is it you know what you know? Do you just always pay attention to developers/publishers? Do you often go to companies websites and read about their products? I actually intend to be somewhat familiar with many companies websites. I am going to be paying attention to factors I didnt before.

Just so I can know more. Plain and simple. It's not different than what I do normally. I like to know stuff. I watch History Channel, Science Channel, Documentaries, How to programs, Mythbusters Etc etc etc. I like knowing stuff. So for gaming, itll be easier still.

  4. Very very good advice. I do not want to be annoying. In fact, it is one of my primary concerns. I tend... to be a bit of a know it all and thats pretty annoying. So what your saying Inky, LOL, is dont be as aggravating as I am here

But I dont know it all, Im just saying. Knowing is different than being a know it all. I want to achieve understanding. If I have a solid foundation, I will have an easier time connecting the dots so to speak. I just got to know how to come off, as I talk too much and spew irrelevant information.

Yea looking things up is simple, cramming my head with worthless info that get overridden month to month might be kind of a pain. Although I do want to know if something is pushed back, when it hits press. I definitely want to know what perks come with preordering whatever games. My brother in law got agitated as he had issues with one guy not telling him about a special bundle for the new Call of Duty. When he found out he had to switch things up.

I do want to be able to have a basic understanding about who develops what, publishes what. I will own what I know and love, but still want to be able to know my products, even if just alittle.

So back to me being annoying. Im sure I have annoyed enough people on this forum alone. Crushing walls of text, know it all attitude, etc. I dont want to be overbearing. I want to be approachable, polite, witty and informative but concise.

    OK that all said.

    Agozer.

You often display gaming knowledge. Generally speaking, do you look this info up or is it off the top of your head. The publisher issue as example.

  5. OK Agozer. The next week is here... get on it!!!

I am somewhere around 215 hours. I have at least 50% of the Battle Trophies, including Faize's 13%. All characters are over lvl 200. I am still knocking out the easy tasks and saving the worst for last. The faq I have is a tremendous help. Im getting multiple trophies at a time quite often. The idea is obviously to consolidate the process to save time.

Crafting particular weapons is a considerable help with killing each characters respective enemy type 999 times and the subsequent 255 item drops. Perhaps you didnt care to know about these trophies, but Im betting you dont mind. Anyway, I find the best way to get alot of said enemies in short order, find theyre elemental weakness and craft a weapon that does stupid damage to it. So far 3 of the peoples mobs are in a post game dungeon and with 14 xp tiles, I get about 250,000 XP in under minute, with 2 groups, 1 surprise 1 ambush. It'd go faster if I could find a 3rd mob. Its possible, as you will see, but takes lots of effort.

I've been at this for days, soooo tedious.

  6. Perfect. My point exactly. I need to know what a company merely published or actually developed. I dont often pay attn. to these kinds of things and so, I am ignorant.

I for the life of me dont know why I thought Front Mission went through Atlus.

Anyway, knowledge like this is one of the things I want to absorb. Since there are so many companies and I am such a novice in this regard... I have alot of work.

  7. I tried Vicks inhalers. Id get a few inhales every time I wanted a smoke. The menthol in my nose would trick my mind. The cravings would go away for awhile. But snorting Vicks every hour or so cant be good lol.

  8. Look mate, In this world: here and now, unless your well off you need someone to help with the bills. Id say stay away from staying with girls: as in girlfriends. Even though it's annoying, staying with family is the best way to go. Say something comes up and your short... Family can understand. Landlords do not.

Also, If you are to save up $$... be sure to set aside and save money that you are NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH. Living from paycheck to paycheck fucking sucks ass. I would not have been able to do what I do unless I was able to save up $$$$$. I have waited and waited for GameStop to hire me. All other jobs I seeked wanted to take advantage. As in Kohl's (clothing store) had a freight job 3rd shift... they wanted to pay me MIN WAGE! I fucking ran the warehouse back in Florida. Min was 7.25 I made 11.75. Fuck Kohl's. So I waited for months and months.

Now I got a job I WANT TO DO and I did EXACTLY what I wanted while I waited... Played games. Of course I went through over $4000 in the process, but I saved up and could afford it.

Sidenote: Yesterday after I spent a good portion at GameStop... I got home and saw I got a letter from Kohl's saying yadda yadda yadda: were sorry to inform you or somesuch.

Me: Sniffles/quivering bottom lip. Head began to tilt back began crying. Merged Crying into insane laughter. Balled up the letter and kicked it across the room. "Get the Fuck outta here are you kidding!" One of those moments where you had to be there but my sister almost doubled over with laughter, she couldnt breathe for a second.

I find it hilarious they didnt try to hire me. I guess it boiled down to over qualification. When the lady said 7.25 at the interview... I froze. I could not believe it. I expected, at the VERY least 8.50. GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE indeed.

  9. With my new job at GameStop, I want to increase my gaming knowledge. My weak point is Sports and Family games, not to mention my ignorance in games that I dub shitty.

I will begin to go through the mountain of titles at work and pay attention to everything. I will be on GameSpot for some time going over alot of material. I also intend to know at any given point what is going to come out and when. I also want to start paying attention to the companies: who made what. For instance a guy at work was telling me about Demon's Souls on the PS3, turns out its from Atlus, the same Co. who made Persona and Ogre Battle. See, my point. I was going to say Front Mission but all I see is Square/Enix. I thought it went through Atlus but I cannot find any reference.

Plain and simple, I want to expand my knowledge to insane amounts. I wish to BE that guy who knows everything.

Alot of this wont be "fun" but grinding never really is, it's the end result your excited about. HAHA I'll be grinding in real life... great! What level am I know???

I noticed I smoke WAY too fast. I ususally smoke one down in under 3 minutes. EM used to not get shorts as she said my cigs tasted funny due to me smoking them so fast, as in the higher heat levels musta altered the natural flavor.

Lately I have noticed I have shit in my lungs: I anti goo gurgle/exhale sometimes. "Uh-humm" Cigs no longer have that appeal anymore, I smoke out of habbit, not for enjoyment.

  11. AkihiroZi: Yea getting a break after school is necessary imo. Just make sure you dont get stuck in chill mode as I did... dude, since I left 7-11 I only played games. I gained over 30 lbs! I gotta work all that shit off now

Vincent: Nice TV! Is that 47"?

Nice Collection! Confirmed at least 24 DS titles, 14 360, 20 Game cube, 38 conventional PS2 boxes, 7 Dreamcast, Uncountable # of PS, 6 Genesis carts, 3 GBA carts, 3 SNES and a SNES/Gameboy converter... is that 3 separate Lunar boxes? At least 21 strategy guides, Domo, Umbreon and a bunch of other stuff I cant readily identify... except the WoW box.

I like your setup. Your a very tidy person. Looks as if you just cleaned as the shelves w/ consoles are shiny: mirror finish. Wish I could keep mine this clean. Also, I need a way to organize all my games. I realized yesterday that I wanted to have a better way to organize my growing collection. Right now I have a cigar box with DS titles thrown in and a stack of 360 games in a pillar.

P.S. I hate matty unsoft carpet...

Skythe: I get that off and on lately. Recently for me I didnt want to sleep and so I didnt try. Id stay up for 24 to 48 hours and finally sleep for 8 hrs, to get up and stay up for another 1.5 to 2 days.

I imagine you have tried everything you can think of. Perhaps you should go workout... next time that is

  12. Laughing @ Jitway

Yea smoking does have benefits actually. But the cost of health and pleasant smell... When you are a smoker, and get that cigarette when you really really need it, as opposed to just smoking because... Like after eating a HUGE meal or having awesome sex, that cig is amazing.

Im about to have one now, but I dont physically or mental feel like I want it, its just a reflex I ... we built up over the years. Im fighting the urge.

  13. Inky: Yea more responsibilities plus all the other shit... I can see you getting worn out. But at least there is more $$. Thats obvious... Im just sayin'

Emsley: I predict, alot of shit is about to hit you... good and bad: but perhaps overwhelming.

Agozer: Well good luck pinning down one thats good.

Verestic: It is my experience that when animals first meet and are weary of each other... could learn to get along. But ya never know. Kudos on not sending it back to the shelter though

Jitway: Yea I noticed the same thing. Every year does go by faster. Its inevitable, just as long as your always cool...

L.S.D.: Well its cool being in another country and all... what of your wife? Did she come along?

  14. Quitting smoking is perhaps the hardest. Its more than a chemical addiction, its the act of too. I feel like I NEED to do something after a while, 'cause Im so used to smoking. Often there are times where I go outside to smoke, and put it out after 2 drags 'cause I did not want to smoke... It just felt like I needed a brake and thats what I do, go outside for a smoke.

  15. Yea we shouldnt smoke. But we do.

    What brand do you smoke?

Right now Im smoking Marlboro Smoothes. Its got a light minty flavor, reminds me of those puffed mints. Bonus is Marlboro often makes them $1 off or 2 pack on sale. Should buy cartons as much as I smoke...

I need to quit, we all need to. I at the very least I need to slow it down. With the new job Ill not have the opportunity to smoke like a civ. Ill be exercising too and that will also cut down on smoke time. Im at just under a pack a day as it stands.

  16. As in with you. Any news, anything exciting? What are you looking forward to? What... is up?

Well other than the new job... and miscellaneous games coming out soon... Im looking forward to the Halloween party! My Sister is throwing a Halloween party and inviting... all the girls that work at Victories Secret with her.

    So what good with you?

  17. Thanks Sturmvogel

And thanks for the input Shiba.

But every job I had did not appreciate me fully. Even when I got promotions and advancement and more hours at the warehouse in Florida, I wasnt treated with respect fully. I am was asset to most jobs I worked. Though I was never treated as such. I think dynamically, quickly and completely about any given situation. Im charismatic, polite-friendly, I dont bring garbage bullshit from my personal life into work with me. When I am at work, I am the role needed: I dont become the role, Im already there. I have gotten alot of positive feedback from my customers at most jobs and it makes me feel good. I go above and beyond what is necessary to achieve perfection. I am high energy. And not 1 job fully appreciated what I do. Not one.

Point is, Im used to places taking advantage of me. I cant think of one job where they didnt benefit from my employment, and at the same time treat me as such. I was "replaceable" as there will always be customers and someone else can do my job, even if its not as good. Nobody gives a fuck.

So now there is GameStop. I dont expect them to say "holy shit Will your the best ever!" Even if I was. I will do well and I hope that I get lucky enough to make those numbers add up. As for the store employees and Manager, they are good people and I have known them on a first name basis for over a year now. I will be noticed, for good or bad. As for the GM and DM and etc etc... I dont plan on them seeing me more than just a #... until my #'s start adding up and they see I am responsible for X ammt. of $$$ coming in. Even then I will not get paid what I am worth, Im used to it.

Shit happens, life if random. Who knows what is going to happen. But I plan on wrestling this bull to the ground and then go after another. If I stay on, I plan on advancement...

As for fun... I have high hopes, lets see

  18. Well I believe he was trying to oppose my possibly thinking of it as all fun and games.

Im stoked. I know works work, and I gotta preform. Often this is luck... Did enough people come in? Did I upsell enough? (strategy guides, insurance, etc.) Sales is a pain in the ass sometimes, and thats what this job is. Sales. At least I'll be working with something I "believe in" Opposed to marketing for bullshit like the telemarketing I did. But then again... there are things like... game boats... LOL

I'll curdle up inside every time I sell a Kenetic game or accessory, Wii fitness, or any of those stupid imagine games on the DS. Etc. Etc. But I'll get over it.

  19. Its a job just like any other in respect to your examples. I have had alot of different types of jobs over the past 15 years, and there is no difference in my opinion, when you break factors down. The only difference from other jobs is the perks of working with something I know best, and the discount on games. Ah, that and I know the staff very well and they will be great to work with.

I know shit happens, but my job stability will not be fragile. I wont fuck up. Im used to customers that dont know what the hell they are doing.

I spoke frankly to one guy at ACE Hardware. I was pretty damn good at fixing just about any problem. A customer was being an ass and I said something contrary to what he said. He said " The customer is always right " which isnt a literal figure of speech. I looked right at him and said " If that is so, why do I have a job? " Or something to that extent. My point, is throughout the years I am very very used to customers who do not know what the fuck they are doing... at all... period. My point, the job is fundamentally identical to any other random job.

  20. the worst is the camera hiding enemies. I was fighting a Warg and couldn't even see it more then half the time.

If the camera is hiding a Warg that's as big as a Chevy Astrovan then there is a problem.

Oh hell yea, you hit that on the nose.

High profile yes, but Stewart uses weird emphasis alot. Octaves going up on things I dont think should, and it sounds odd.

I think it fits. :o well, I'm the kind of person that likes to hear Patrick Stewart talk.

You havent heard alot either. Its just my opinion anyway. Im pretty strict when it comest to judgment, and I have a very good speaking voice. Even though, Its good to hear Stewart. He only got a small role on Oblivion.

Not sure if I can play these generic adventure games any longer. Whether I like it or not, any adventure game coming out like Enslaved or Lords of Shadow has already been done before, I feel like I'm playing less enjoyable versions of games that game came out 5 years ago.

It's the same, repetitive stuff, you put in the game, start a new game, play, and the gameply repeats, except for cutscenes here and there. These ideas have already been executed better on the systems like the PS2.

I may be becoming less tolerant, these games aren't terrible, but are just cut from the same mold, the same person masquerading as something new and different every year.

I'll be waiting for Vanquish, even though it's basically more or less in the same category.

Yea I know exactly what you mean. It will take alot of work to break new turf. To make gameplay fresh. Enslaved brings enhanced emotional content or more realistic interactions. Everything else is like something before. LoS is a bunch of different game types combined. The thing about LoS, is its challenging so I dont notice as much, but what happens when I beat it completely. It'll stay in the stack most likely, not to be played again until I forget about it for a while.
