  1. xeon why is fba your emulator of choice. i have earlier versions that support cps1 and cps2 only and it seems rather limited in options although the "3 punch and kick buttons" are a sweet config. especially for the fighters where moves such as teleport or zangiefs lariat are needed.

Well i thought id start this topic to find out once and for all which is the emulator of choice. obviously mame is the emulator to rule them all but id thought id limit those exclusive to neo geo and cps1 and cps2 games including the recent relases and hacks. Personally i like winkawaks - im used to its interface, its loader logo is appropriate, its pad detection is great and theres a load of video options. im not really as used to nebula but would happilly make the switch should it be superior. i found in several instances that even when missing a few files it still plays the rom whilst kawaks plain refuses to. any opinions. maybe someone could offer some insight on there technical specs. cheers
  3. garou all the way. please someone highlight a flaw in this game. its beautifully balanced, has sufficient depth with just defence and counters, great animations, realistic movement, doesnt place too high an emphasiss on one method of attack be it supers, combos etc (rotd for example is way to combo heavy) and is challenging to attain a decnt standard in play (ss, sss and miracle levels in fighting.) my only gripe is that its a shame snk went ahead anmd introduced new charcaters, sort of a next gen fatal fury roster cos i would of preferred it if they stuck to the perennials but hey it had to happen eventually.
  4. ah corminus another member who appreciates the dc. what an awesome console and the only one to receive any cp3 software i think so far. sf3 TD is awesome - even though it appears low res especially on dc the animation is incredible with so many frames making the characters look incredibly life like plus the game physics are down to a tee just like garou - the characters move realisically. Game physics is my major gripe about svc and kofs aswell - the way the characters fall after being hit is awful. i dont mind the kof engine with regards to looks - infact i appreciate the old school overhaul done to the shotokhans plus demitri looks the ebest hes ever looked. i hope svc 2 doesnt become the circus that cvsnk2 became, departing from the purity found in cvssnk and preferring flashiness and an overcomplicated series of groove modes. perhaps include 2 like cvsnk 1, improve physics, redo sprites properly (no rehashes) and include maybe the following: morrigon (imagine her first redraw in almost a decade), zangief, e honda, dante and adon from capcom and maybe rugal, a last blade type character (zanetsu please), terry motw outfit, joe higashi and throw in a monster like the griffon to counter the behemoth that is zangief.

  7. has anyone else found a glitch in this game when running on the hacked kawkas 1.46 - in arcade mode in all regions the cpu is invincible for some reason - i checked if a cheat was on and it wasnt.huh? any ideas? also the defualt damage setting is so high - sometimes all it takes are two high slashes and the bout is over. is there anyway to reduce this. its probably an easy matter of changing a setting but im a neophyte at this gme. cheers in advance
  8. okay finally i get the winkawaks loader to recognise rotd original set and when loading the rom kawaks begins to apply patches which causes the program to "encounter a problem" and is forced to close. has anyone experienced similar problems or does anyone have an idea of how to fix it. cheers in advance
  9. daarrgh. so close. i removed the p2 line and it loads all but then says it applying patches that cause kawaks to close "im sorry kawaks has encountered a problem."! cheers for the help though

  12. dont worry i have exactly the same problem using 1.46 with loader that recognises ms4, pim and rotd plus svc. all work bar rotd despite having complete (i think) romsets - both decryted and original. the latter bwing around 75mb. i have the correct dat too except the loader keeps complianing about a 246 p2 roms i think.
  13. ive been tryin like mad to find the 264 p2 bin file for rotd. every rotd romset i have aquired for some reason lacks this file which kawaks demands. does anyone know any way around this or working links to the file. thanks in advance
  14. man, i did as you said and they still dont work. i dont get it cos in the cheats folder are svc cheats dat file and they work fine. im using 1.46 plus loader. the game runs great better than nebula but agggghhh no cheats
  15. noob question here but what am i supposed to do with those codes. how do i get them to work. cheers
  16. i use the saitek p220. 6 button layout like the saturn makes it awesome for capcom fighters plus 2 shoulder buttons come in use ofr macros such as "all punches" etc. d pads a bit chunky thouigh and needs some wearing in - you really need to do the entire motion fully when doing 180 and 360 type rotations. it also has a fancy auto gear shifter up to 4 gears for racers. only 15 quid too
