  1. For all your Dreamcast emulation need go here: http://www.dcemulation.com/ Step 1 You will find that there are loads of emulators for your Dreamcast (SNES, NES, Megadrive, Master System etc), all you have to do is download the CD image i.e. Nero or Disc juggler for the emulator you want, burn the image and it will self boot on your Dreamcast, you dont need a modchip. Step 2 Just burn a CD with all the roms for that required Emulator you want, once the emulator boots up, swap the emulator disc with your rom disc, simple as that. To save on discs you can allways make your own self boot Emu discs with all the roms on them but since you are new you should just get used to the first two steps I gave you. If your intrested in doing this go here, follow it carefully and you should have no problems: http://homebrew.dcemulation.com/selfboot.shtml This is slightly different to Emu disc but you should get the idea. I may do a full guide at a later date.
  2. I've had a lot of luck applying patches/self boots, I'd be happy to help you Shiba
  3. The officialy released Bleemcast discs wont boot up any other game other than the game it was intended for (Can alsoplay proper ripped versions but not common), But I use the beta relese to play the unreleased game Thrill Kill! great game
  4. Hmm... what are the problems you are getting trying to make the image file? I have heard about this before and people not being able to make a iso out of it. Have you tried the newest versions of BlindRead and Nero? What about Deamon Tools? Here are some sites that can help you out.. http://gamecopyworld.com http://megagames.com Trust me mate, you name it i've tried it, all I can think is that they use the same type of protection as the G-DROM, the only thing I havnt tried is through PSO which I am led to beleive this is the way to rip games through the modem, but I wouldnt know where to start, if anyone can advise me on what I need or what to do i'll give it a go
  5. They are Brand new still sealed official Dreamcast translucent blue VMU's! what a deal!
  6. cool, just bought two VMU's for a fiver on ebay! well, plus delivery about 8 quid not bad though!
  7. I just never tried it, didnt want to loose any data, lol
  8. There are four versions about, A beta version which playes loads of games, but with either sound or graphics isuues, with a few highly compatible, but offer no memory card support, heres a handy compatability list: Supported Games This works by you putting the bleemcast disc in, once the bleemcast logo apears replace the disc with your playstation disc and it should then load the game. It will also play backup games (I use it to play my rare copy of the unreleased game Thrill Kill). The other three are 1 game only versions which where officially commercially released and play the games flawlessly with memory card support, a blue one wich plays Tekken 3, a green one for Gran Turismo 2 and a purple one for Metal Gear Solid. (If you do manage to get hold of these beware, they require a dedicated memory card as it will format your VMU) I have the beta version on my FTP if you want it, but I have the three official versions also but no matter how hard I try I cant create an image of them. (prolly cos they are originals) And for some reason I have never come accross them online.
  9. Thats an idea as because as I said there will be certain times my server will be offline
  10. Well, if you want I can create a "Shibathedog's rare Games" folder on my FTP for you, and you can upload stuff there? Its up to you...
  11. Yeah, it about the same price roughly, The other half still isn’t convinced that there is no dial-up charge! She thinks you pay £30 plus pay for the length of time your on, lol I’ll wait till the bill comes through and prove it lol
  12. Nah, its just originals I'm intrested in, cos when I bought that DC gun when it came out, I never thought that only 2 games would officially be released in the UK!, and I bought that official Arcade Stick and I rarely use that, mainly for Virtua Fighter and Soul Calibur
  13. I didnt know this cos I never downloaded the game, I was just asuming it was a multiple disc game, well, thats him sorted.
  14. exactly! couldnt agree more!, but now I gotta pay £30 a month, lol
  15. I'm downloading '[DC] Death Crimson OX (Echelon) [NRG].rar', hope its not too poor a game!
  16. Yeah, it was in response do my direct question as to whether or not the disc required a BBA. You said "no". Then, you turn right around and directly say that it DOES require a BBA. Is it just me or are you being a little... unclear? I use DreamKey 3 and it does not support the BBA, only dial-up
  17. I tried Alcohol 120%, it keeps coming up with disc read errors, it wont go past 19.9% of the create image process. Oh, and I forgot to ask earlier, how is it you access the classic sega hub?
  18. Can anyone tell me which games use the Dreamcast light gun? Apart from: The House of the Dead 2 Confidential Mission Virtua Cop 2 (DreamKey web browser, yes you can use it to navigate by shooting the screen!) But are there any other games?
  19. Yeah, I know exactly how you feel, I just got ADSL the other day and before that I just used to ignore downloading games, it was too stressful for me!
  20. I doubtI doubt you will have any problems, but one problem you may encounter could be when you try to swap discs during game play, I have never done this with backup CD’s but I would say most likely you should be fine. Just make sure the two CD's are from the same region as if one is US and the other PAL etc, it wont work, but you prob know that anyway.
  21. Well, the best way is to just try it and hope for the best, but if you notice that the burning software's buffer is under run you may encounter problems, I normally burn at top speed but my burner’s got a large memory buffer. You may find it will work fine for you, I would only burn at slow speeds for audio CD’s but then again that also depends on the buffer.
  22. I spoke too soon, its staying around at a crappy 50Kb/s, guess its just as good as bittorrent really.
  23. I would say on average I have had speeds at about 150 to 200 Kb/s, well for this file anyway.
  24. Yeah, I know what you mean, but it downloaded 100MB under 40 mins! I have not downloaded that fast using bittorrent
