Today sees its first release of NEOGEO CDZ, an often updated Japanese Neo Geo CD emulator. AEP Emulation Page reports that it's a daily update, and it doesn't appear to be another set of "test" releases. Click here to visit the homepage of NEOGEO CDZ.

SoftDev's GameCube port of FCE Ultra, the much used Nintendo Entertainment System emulator, has been updated says PDRoms. Below are the changes in version 1.0.8.

After 2 years of inactivity, Minus4j, a Commodore Plus/4 emulator for Java, has been updated. This news comes from Emunews 24 and below are the changes.

- Now ties itself to a user framerate were ever possible, 50 by default.

- You can now scale the screen into a larger display (720x480 is *2)

- You can now "round" the edges of the display to simulate a TV

QuickPlay is a powerful universal emulator frontend, which has support for countless emulators and systems. QuickPlay is written in Delphi 2005 Personal Edition and is released under a BSD license which means its free AND you can take the source code and do whatever you want with it, as long as you leave my name in it somewhere.

WIP Quickplay 3.8.1

The next version of Quickplay is coming along nicely. Its mostly a bug fixing release, but there should be a couple of new features. Heres some of the main things that are currently IN the build. I have a couple more things to add and then its release time.

 

* Power Scheme Changing when running a ROM, now Windows wont decide to turn your monitor off in the middle of a game.

* Changes to the Run Random ROM feature. Theres a new "Never played" option and the existing feature will retry if the picked ROM has no emulator.

* Fix for the MAME merge scan problem

* Ability to configure Quickplays ROM uncompressing temporary directory for each emulator - if your into that kinda thing this is entirely optional!

 

Theres a few other issues not on that list but all will be revealed in the fullness of time.
