Bryan McPhail's MAME WIP News

Emu#dreams reports that Bryan McPhail has been working on hardware support in MAME, the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator, again. Below is Bryan's post on his official MAME WIP page.

DECO MLC system - added sprite buffering, fixed tile banking, fixed clear colour, added sprite clipping (used to good effect for pseudo viewport effects in Skull Fang), ARM interrupt bug fix and preliminary raster support. The end result is that Skull Fang and Hoops are now properly playable. About the only thing left to do in this driver is full raster support for the playfield in Stadium Hero 96.

Large rom support is here, still beta, but here. Having a fast SD card will be helpfull.

retroguru.com reports that eSCV, the Japanese open source EPOCH Super Cassette Vision emulator for Microsoft Windows, has been updated today. Below are the changes in this version (quoted from retroguru.com).
- support semi graphic mode in text screen- support back color of text screen
- modify upd7801 core

FakeNES WIP Release (1/13)

emulation number 9 reports that ipher has updated FakeNES, the open source Nintendo Entertainment System emulator for Microsoft Windows and DOS. This is only a work-in-progress release, and below are the changes in this build.
