Ryuken Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 i have a radeon 9600 256mb and it only has a heatsink and my uncle has a crappyer video card and his had a fan so i'm thinking of getting a fan for my video card. and is it hard to install 1 since u have to take the stock heatsink off and put in the new 1
Gryph Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 Well you need a heatsink plus fan. Technically heat sinks are more important since that's what does the heat dissipation.

Gryph Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 A fan would definitely help though. The worst that can happen is you get too stingy and your card overheats. Might as well spend a few extra bucks to make sure that doesn't happen.

Gryph Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Water cooling is nice but expensive. HotAnimeGuy, uninstall your video card drivers, then reinstall the latest ones, and make sure you have the latest DX9 (DX9.0c I think).
