i have a radeon 9600 256mb and it only has a heatsink and my uncle has a crappyer video card and his had a fan so i'm thinking of getting a fan for my video card. and is it hard to install 1 since u have to take the stock heatsink off and put in the new 1

Well you need a heatsink plus fan. Technically heat sinks are more important since that's what does the heat dissipation.

i know about that but i'm not sure if a fan is also needed,

A fan would definitely help though. The worst that can happen is you get too stingy and your card overheats. Might as well spend a few extra bucks to make sure that doesn't happen.

but does a radeon 9600 256mb fast enough that it needs a heatsink and a fan

should i just get a fan that takes up 1 pci slot cuz i don't want to install a new 1 since that's a chance for me to flock up my videocard

i'll get 1 if the part of my case where the video card's at is gettin hot

Try Using A Video Card Cooler, From What I See It Looks Like A Clamper To The Video Card. It Might Work.

Water cooling is nice but expensive.

HotAnimeGuy, uninstall your video card drivers, then reinstall the latest ones, and make sure you have the latest DX9 (DX9.0c I think).
