Gryph Posted September 24, 2004 Author Posted September 24, 2004 Yeah, all the profits are from games. People who would buy the consoles wouldn't necessarily get a super fast PC. Those with super fast PCs can still play the games so it's not much loss for MS. All this compatiblity will be taken care of in Longhorn...they'll make sure it works. I don't mind ports at all, but I don't like it when PC games are dumbed down for consoles. I just have a bad feeling that's what's going to happen. And this PC Level system is just stupid...PC change all the time so will this system be relative or will they just keep adding levels? Level 10 in one year can be Level 2 the next year, so stupid.
Wizard Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 On the upside, people who play mmorpgs can play with other people on other systems. Kinda like what Square-Enix with FFXI.
random guy Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 The only problem I have with all this is tht Microsoft is trying to make that XNA SDK a standard for all consoles. "Make your PS3 games with our software."SONY's not going to fall for that though are they?

Maybe he means big suits like David Byrne's from Talking Heads.

And the best way to have a really big corporate rivalry is to have m$ looking to introduce a standard for all consoles, and have Sony refuse to follow that standard.
Jjangthekid Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 lawsuit against sony?? for what??>> sony will prevail !??.. if sony dies.i die as well.. goo !!!
Agozer Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Well that's all great for me since it will all work on my PC then. Yay! More uses for my uber powerful amd 64! Yeah, me too. Maybe that makes me appreciate Bill-BOX games more.
Gryph Posted September 24, 2004 Author Posted September 24, 2004 Longhorn is coming in 2006 (and apparantly so is XBOX2) so your current A64s will be obsolete by then. All hail to dual core 64 processors! Unreal Engine 3.0 games will also be coming around that time, I can't wait for those. The NVIDIA GeForce6 series is the bare mininum for those games.
Shibathedog Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 ya, thats gonna be sweet, i think i am going to just buy a new PC in 2006 because theirs no use upgrade all that crap. I personally thing they should all die and we should go back to Sega Vs Nintendo rivalries.
BlackKnight Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Did anyone answer the question about USB ports for Xbox and PC peripherals?
Gryph Posted September 25, 2004 Author Posted September 25, 2004 Did anyone answer the question about USB ports for Xbox and PC peripherals?Oh no...sorry. I mean that'll have to be only way because I REALLY REALLY doubt mobo manufacturers are going to start putting XBOX2 ports in. Maybe Microsoft could make a PCI-Express (assuming that's what will be available then) with ports in it. That guy didn't explain much but the only way it can work is if they standardize the input.
