I have a bold vision for a 1emulation.com open-source video game (which you can play online) and that way the best posters on the forum would be allowed to have their very own character! Now how about THAT for incentive to join this forum?!?

I think the only thing left would be to decide what type of game we want to make???

That'll be nice. But the problem is people will want to pose as Me or GC or any of the other admins. So much coding will have to be put into it :)

It's very possible to do this so that when you login..your logged in via your own SN you registered in the forum. It wouldn't be easy, but we should find or maybe get something made. We have this thing against hack's or edits though for the forum, so we'll think about it.

I think Kaillera is the only video game where we can be who we want in 1emu on current status to thinking out of the box :)

Didn't mean to step on your toes, guys, this forum is awesome enough as it is, I just thought it would be a cool idea. I always have dreams that are impractical/impossible, just ignore me!

(I still reckon it would be cool though!)

I really don't think theres much stopping you. I mean, theres nothing stopping me from creating 1emu comics and movies. So go for the game if you know how to code it.

If we dont like it, we can jus close the thread :P

Ah, you've got me there, I wouldn't have the first idea how to code it.

I reckon I could write a pretty good script/storyline though. Obviously though that is useless without someone to code it.

Well Im gonna leave this option open, if anyone wants to have a go at designing an internet-compatible console based game, just let me know.

(I feel kinda silly now :P )

well an online game i dunno about

but on my forum we created a game in the vien of monkey island with this point and click engine that i can't remember for the life of me.

pretty interesting game considering i was a flying head in it!

Cool. How did you do it? Did you write it as a console game? Because seeing as a few emulators have net support it couldn't be that hard to implement the on-line aspect of it. Possibly.

it was made using a click and point engine thingie in the vein of mugen for point and click adventures...

as for online, i doubt it supports it in any way.

Yeah, I've used a program like that only it was to create old text+graphics style games (IE Leisure Suit Larry, Space Quest).

I could definitely make a game like that that would be fun. But it wouldn't really be the same if you couldn't play it online.

Yeah, I just got me a copy of "RPG Maker". I'll check it out and give it a go.

How's this movie going? Can you give me a sneak peek of the plot and maybe some outlines for the comic? That way I can make "the-game-of-the-movie" (or is that the-game-of-the-movie-of-the-comic?)

Posted

I haven't started the movie yet. The movie and the comic and quickies are not related to each other :)

Movie - Save something

Comics - Tourny

Quickies - Anything!

I'd like to make a game, but I don't want to be pigeonholed to one genre. What would be cool is if I could design a series of mini-games that piggyback off one another eg I could make a small game in RPG maker then have some mugen style fighting action, maybe a couple of shockwave games in there, and then have a loader to run all the games in a package.

I don't know if it would be possible, I mean getting the games up and running wouldn't be a problem cause I think they all have freeloading programs, I could just draw something up in BASIC even. But the problem would be getting the program to automatically quit from the 1st game once the next one needed to be loaded.

I mean sure I could get people to quit out of the game they were playing at the moment, but it would kinda ruin the flow... ie:

"A thick cloud of dust descends upon the horizon. Tracing the source, you spy a hundred feirce warriors headed towards you at double pace. You grit your teeth as you seek a firmer foothold on the giant mountain. This is going to be your toughest challenge yet. (please quit the game)".
