I originally had my 32 in my office, with my consoles there and the old CRT in the living room.

 

I moved the CRT to the basement for the kids, I no longer have an office so the 32" went in the living room. Suffice it to say, using it from the couch with PC alone made it seem like a postage stamp. Text was hard to read from 8 feet away. Bigger TV was REQUIRED.

I remember the pic you posted some time ago, I expected to see that. Having a nook is pretty badass, but what you have now is superior.

I like the chair, I'd be curious to see how powerful that sub in the back is. Having good seating is definately essential, I used to use an office chair for my gaming when I had the TV in my bedroom. Playing or watching TV from the bed was next to impossible... it's comfortable for the first 15 minutes but it's a nightmare after that.

I like Samsung and I've heard good things about LG, but I have owned Sony TVs for the last 15+ years so I figured I'd keep the brand loyalty going. The fact it was $200 cheaper than the comperable Samsung was also somewhat of a contributing factor.

 

The model number for the new TV is KDL-46EX500.

No it's actually sitting off to the right, it's a full-size tower as it's my main PC. Master Chief helmet from Halo 3 Legendary Edition sits on it (Got it NIB for $20...couldn't pass it up as I didn't have Halo 3 yet)

I am opposed to LG. I had to take it back and replace it with what I got now. It was a better deal anyway.

WTF that is messed up. It was probably something wrong with that specific TV though you could have probably exchanged it for the same model and got a working one. My parents have a 42 inch LCD LG that I liked a lot. A buddy of mine has a 60 inch plasma that has pretty good image quality but it has this weird burn in issue. If you watch sports or the news where there is stuff that stays still it will burn in for like a day and then be gone the next. It's still like brand new though so maybe this will go away after awhile.

 

Anyway I don't have cable and I don't really watch sports. I just download everything off the internet. My ISP gives me free access to that ESPN 3 thing so I can watch stuff online if I really want to. All I really care about is the Mets baseball anyway. I can't stand football. Everyone is Bengal crazy around here. Never have I seen a sports team with fans so goddamn stupid. The Reds are....not what they used to be. Then there is all this college basketball garbage. UK, UC, and someone else it's like this big rivalry thing. I miss being in Detroit when hockey was still the shit and the red wings where kicking ass. That Hockeytown stuff was nuts. There would be crazy parties flooding the streets everywhere.

 

Black Friday though maybe, it seems like usually they just up the prices a bit before and then on black friday put them back to normal. Usually the high end stuff I want is unaffected by black friday anyway. I know a guy who works at an electronics store who could get me a TV at the price the store pays. That's probably the way to go.

 

About the man cave location, I was fine with using the basement. I think she doesn't like the idea of me supposedly needing a place to go to get away from her. I tried to explain to her that the point is not to get away from her but to keep my mess all in one place but she just didn't understand I guess.

I turn my TV on in the morning, and while it's still black on-screen, I can still see the in-game lobby burned in from playing MW2 the night before. Goes away shortly after though with something else on-screen.

I dont think that applies here. Sounds like she is being all weird thinking he is trying to escape her. I bet with some decent communication he can get this going. Perhaps he didnt have a real need to make the man cave as he doesnt even have a "good" tv

 

But you are absolutely right Cinder. A mate cannot rightly expect to change the other. I am a gamer, she knows this from practically day one. Change, if any, should come from ones self. Trying to change someone is wrong. If they cant accept you for who you are, then go.

 

I still remember clearly, my buddies #@$^%^#$^@#^ of a wife (newly wed at the time) telling him in all seriousness to "shut up, you talk too much" He was explaining the controls to a friend who has never played the game: he is detailed like I am. He shut up with an embarrassed look!!! It was so fucking sad. This WAS the guy took NO shit from anyone.

I was once stood in my kitchen smoking weed (3 years ago) and that shit hit me pretty hard and i was semi fucked/semi awake and the bitch stood in front of me put her face up to me like i was "out of it and said "You're nothing but a fucking idiot." (yes said in nasty way) I immediately stood up and she kinda went away from em and went and sat on the bed, I said "What the fuck did you just say to me!"? She shut up and looked sheepish.

 

Another time a guy must of been doing this lasses head in, when they stepped out of the car she couldn't hold it in any-more and shouted "Will you just shut fucking up!!!" he drove her home and that was that.
