I want to thank the staff or the premium members here because I did'nt imagine there would be kind reactions in this thread (and only from them).Well I remember seeing you here and there. But... you should have expected a warm greeting from us all. Your English is very good, in my opinion -- at least comparing to similar efforts made by your countrymen online. I'm not generalizing, maybe I've just met the wrong kind of french people online, who knows. As clichéd as it sounds, practice makes perfect, so do take part in Lounge conversations.Yea your english is great! You sound like you have known it for many many years. Like Agozer says... interact in the Lounge more often. It would be nice to have you around.
stf Posted June 28, 2009 Author Posted June 28, 2009 I have a simple explaination for this: I have lived 6 years in Norway (1986-1991) and used to speak english there. But I didn't get any opportunity to continue when I went back to France (a country where most people only speak 1 language and often speak it in a bad way)! So a simple language can be easily understood by me, but slang things or familiar expressions are difficult !

No Hera and I feel ashamed, of course jeg forstaar litt norsk (sorry no norwegian letters on my keyboard), ogsaa kan jeg snakke litt, men har jeg glemt alt. (sure there are mistakes). Jeg gikk paa franske Skolen i Oslo, hvor jeg bodde = a lot of french friends !English was spoken everywhere in Norway, movies in Cinemas were in OV subtitled (it has changed today, my father's still & will die in Norway), so it was easy not to learn the language even with my good norwegian friends. I took courses only the last year for a girl I loved but it was too late (+ she became a bitch...) ... I really don't like the french education for foreign langages but I'm now a bit old to change things. Oh. Mange av veien Tusen takk Hera. The only reason why I have it is because my mother couldn't deal with just what we have. Our Norwegian and Swedish buddies get the point haha.

I think I'll really learn more soon, I'd like to go back to Norway and maybe live there (I spent my best years there: 14-20), my father is also ready to find me a job and most important I fed up with France and frenchies (I'm the best patriot for a country).The only bad thing is I'm a 37 years old "mofo": not so easy to move when married + child + not so young (but cute lol) .
