gavin19 Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 i also tried zugya and scorpius on the x68000 emu their both good shooters as well.im gonna get a hold of more at the weekend.quick question for you gav i downloaded robo aleste for the sega cd and it plays fine im just not getting any music.all the music files seem to be the right ones,im just not getting soundfx any ideas? What format is it in? Maybe it isn't properly emulated? Sounds like it is a bad cue file to me.
fumanchu Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 its an mp3/iso file just like the rest of my isos and all the rest work with sound perfectly.
gavin19 Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Make sure the names match up, like this - RoboAleste.isoRoboAleste01.mp3RoboAleste02.mp3RoboAleste03.mp3RoboAleste04.mp3RoboAleste05.mp3 etc Otherwise I don't know. Any one I have tried has worked no probs. I don't have Robo Aleste to try myself unfortunately
gavin19 Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I quickly grabbed Robo Aleste there, I always meant to get it anyway. So I ftp it over to the Xbox, no background music, but sound effects work ok. I then try it out on Gens, same thing. Now this version is iso/wav, so I convert all wav to mp3 and then rename everything as I mentioned before - Robo Aleste.isoRobo Aleste01.mp3 etc etc Now it works fine in both Gens and NeoGenesis
ken_cinder Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 or just play the arcade version gav. have you tried the x68000 version gav, cause ive been playing it a lot and its an acurate version of the arcaade game, well i think anyway.they both share tha same arcade hardware. Psst, so does the Genesis/SCD. It too runs a Motorola 68k CPU, has a Z80 which controls the Yamaha 2612 and Ti SN7649. The x68k sports no Z80, but a Yamaha 2151 which the 2612 is backwards compatible with.Technically, the Genesis is a superior x68k and would logically be more capable of "perfect" ports than the x68k.

ken_cinder Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Not really, considering the CPS-1 games you speak of, utilize a Z80......something the x68k computers lack. It's co-processor is something else (Wikipedia lists it as UNKOWN, so it's def not a Z80)
fumanchu Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 like i said already,it all depends on how they port the game.
