noob Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 (edited) So is the extention suppose to be ISO? I'm getting two files a .bin and .cue... I got this off bittorentDo I have to use daemon tools. if so when do I use it. Thanks again, ive been trying to do research but Its hard for me to uderstand. with vague explinations Edited September 11, 2006 by noob
Gryph Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I'm not sure it really matters what the extension. As long as the bin has the cue then it should function properly. Mount the .cue with Daemon tools and see what happens.
gymnist1026 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 mount the cue with d-tools and then you can acess the cd through just an explore operation. you should see it in a drive and can explore this. You can either take this and make a new iso image off of this, or you can just copy/paste the contents of a cd onto a blanck cd either manually or through nero.
Rag Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 It doesn't matter what the extension is as long as it is some sort of image file really. If you are burning it, I recommend Alcohol 120%.
gymnist1026 Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 ...but i thought that stopped being distributed as freeware...and the old versions auto update too...ive been trying to get a copy that works...i quess that it is just me...
Rag Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I never said anything on how you acquire it, just on using it.
gymnist1026 Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 hmm...where do you get it then? ive been looking for a copy to use because nero sucks...alot of things... and i need to free up some space on my hdd.
Rag Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Use your imagination, I'm sure you will think of something.
noob Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 so I have alchohol 120. and d-tools...I wanna make a put a game on my modded psx. SO what do I do?? Do I mount the cue file and the Bin file? After that how do I burn it in alchohol 120, Copy, or image burning...etc? THanks again
Rag Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 You won't need to mount the files if you are just burning the game. Mounting is used to just emulate the effect of putting a CD into the computer. You'll need to image burn the file and if you are using Alcohol, I believe there is a drop down menu that you can set the burning mode for a PSX game. I'm not 100% sure, I'd check it myself but I don't have Alco anymore. It bugged me; something to do with the StarWindService or something like that.
noob Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 ok Thanks thats what I thought. But what file do I put in the .bin or the .cue..or both?
Rag Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 They both will work although the program usually reads from the .cue I believe. You can use the .bin though if you want, it makes no difference as far as I can remember. I've been working with .iso files much more lately so I'm a bit rusty.
Gryph Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I think you should burn the cue since it contains the proper data to make sure the bin is burned properly.
Agozer Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I think you should burn the cue since it contains the proper data to make sure the bin is burned properly.Yes. Always use a CUE file (or any other disc information file depending on the CD image) when burning.
rubiocroft Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 ok Thanks thats what I thought. But what file do I put in the .bin or the .cue..or both? Hey... do you know some web site where I can find some PSx isos?? it seems to be easier to get ps2 games than old and cool psx1, LOL! Bye
