ssj9vegeto0 Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 how do i get marvel super heroes to work i put it in roms folder and refreshed my list but it wont work i tried putting neogeo file in it dont work and i tried unzpping it THAT dont work what do i do?
Gryph Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Marvel Super Heroes is not a NeoGeo game... Try this, find the game manually and try to run it. If it doesn't work, tell us what the error is. Also, I would suggest you try either Kawaks, Nebula, or FBA. You can find all them here.
Weirdy Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 btw, the current parent of Marvel Super Heroes isn't working, so you'll need a clone too
Z-Neo Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Sounds like your romset may not be in line with the version of MAME you are using. You can either do what Gryph suggested, in trying another emulator, or use Clrmame and verify the roms.
James Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 i tried unzpping it THAT dont work what do i do? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> One thing you never do is unzip them. Since you asked about Mame then thats the answer I will give you. Make sure you have the parent set. If the Parent set does not work then you will also need the clone set as well parent set msh.zipclone sets mshjr1.zip , mshj.zip , mshu.zip Also they are capcom games not neogeo.Which does not need a bios.
Agozer Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Most arcade emulators (if not all that are still being developed) only work with zipped sets.

ssj9vegeto0 Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 ive only had mame for about 2 weeks its version 0.64.where do i find that parent set and clone set stuff and how do i set the parent or whatever it is
Agozer Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 There is no 'setting' of the parent set. Most games only need the parent set, but if a game needs a clone as well, the clone goes in MAME's roms folder along with the parent set.
ssj9vegeto0 Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 (edited) i mean what is the parent thing your talking about? and clones,where/what are theese?i only have 4 files in a zip foldermshu.03mshu.04mshux.03mshux.04 Edited July 27, 2005 by ssj9vegeto0
Gryph Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 We can't tell you where to find these sets. But some ROMs have a parent set and clone sets that require the parent set to run. Those sets you have are probably pretty small. What you need is the full parent which is msh.zip and it'll be larger than what you have now.
Weirdy Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 wtf o.o, update your mame since you are a noob, I reccomend either Mame 32, or Mame 32 Plus. and yes, upgrade because current sets are not that same as they were with version 0.64 (trust me) so that might fix a problem
ssj9vegeto0 Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 i just wont play it im keeping 0.64 i wanted to play it in multiplayer so thanks anyway x_x i saw someone with MSH in the chat room hosting it with 0.64 and alot of people wanted it so i tried to get it but i just cant so thanks anyway again
Agozer Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 For your information, the parent (msh.zip) is ~19MB. The parent is the Euro set, so you need the US clone if you want the US set.
Weirdy Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 plus most of the sets have been changed, including that one
