D3stiny_Sm4sher Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 (edited) I've been seeking help from Emuparadise on this matter, but haven't gotten any helpful info yet. I've downloaded SVCChaos from <Edited out> (I believe that's where I got them) but I can't figure out which Emulator can run them, or how. I've heard there are packaged zips that contain the rom and a hacked emulator with it, but Googling proved to be very tedious. I have a version of NeoRageX (EGCG) that has SVC Chaos (and a couple variants) listed, but it doesn't recognize any of the zips I have. I have a version of MAME32 that ALSO has the game in its list, but doesn't recognize any of my files. I have these zip files: svcchaossvcchaosasvcplussvcplusa And none of them seem to work on any of my emulators. Do I need a specific version of an emulator that I don't have? If someone could direct me to a thread that can help me or a name of an emulator so I can search...anything...it would be greatly appreciated. I really want to play this game, as I'm a big fan of cross-over fighters, and this one seems to be very nice. Mod's edit: Do not mention where you got the ROM. Edited June 17, 2005 by Agozer
Agozer Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 svcchaos and svcchaosa are encrypted sets, meaning that you can't get them to run in NeoRAGEx. svcplus works in NeoRAGEx (EGCG), and it's a decrypted set. However, svcplus is quite buggy since it's a bootleg. You can find fixes here.
D3stiny_Sm4sher Posted June 17, 2005 Author Posted June 17, 2005 Um...I HAVE the EGCG NeorageX...It can run KOF'03, Metal Slug 5... It doesn't pick up ANY of my svc romfiles, though... So fixes won't do me any good.
Agozer Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Does it have entries in the gamelist (have you checked the bottom of the gamelist)? What fromat are the files in? bin or rom?
N3oGhost Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 On a sidenote, There are a few MVS carts available that claim to have 41 characters. Which Rom is this and what are the extra characters?

Just want to make sure that 41 is the total if everything is unlocked/playable.
Necromancer Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 @D3stiny_Sm4sher I'm afraid that your sets are probably for another emulator... Check your pm...

I still say there isn't 41 of them.

D3stiny_Sm4sher Posted June 18, 2005 Author Posted June 18, 2005 Oh, thanks for the help, and sorry to the mod about mentioning my source... Kawaks dev? What's that? I use Kawaks, but it doesn't work with any of the latest roms...Is this some kind of hack, or something? If so, does it have any tricks to it?
Wizard Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 Kawaks dev was a leaked version of, well, kawaks that was work in progress.
D3stiny_Sm4sher Posted June 18, 2005 Author Posted June 18, 2005 Um...So, is it as user-friendly? Necromancer just PMed me a link to Kawaks 1.48ab or something like that, but...I put ALL of my SVC ROMs (and Samsho5) in there....And it didn't read any of them, either. *groan* I'm currently downloading a zip that supposedly has an emu AND a bunch of newer ROMs that will work. Supposedly. Based on my run of luck, I'm not so sure... There's no special files I need with this Kawaks (aside from the neogeo romset)?
Agozer Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 Well, since Kawaks is a closed-source emulator, it only accepts specific romsets with specific CRC info and whatnot. That's why I would still recommend Loaders, since you can add custom sets and Loader will try to run them based on the DAT you've made. As for this Kawaks 1.48ab, I'm thinking that actually Kawaks/dev, but I'm not sure (dev also needs specific sets that are different from the sets that original Kwaks supports - which are even harder to find in some cases). Anyway, to answer your last question... No, you should not need any special files.

I'd like to help u but u have to post crc's of your roms...
