heh, I've been having the same problem to, I don't think colleges use cable since cable has that problem when the server has to many users connected it slows down like a mofo. Did you try switching by connecting to a proxy?

Try using a spyware scanner to see if there is any spyware on the computer and remove it.

Try anymounus proxy's, if it works through there, then you know its your Internet connection, if it don't, then it has something to do with your comp

bleh I don't take networking until next year so that's as far as I can help you on proxy's. Out of idea's, did you try connecting through AIM on another computer?

i know people in this dorm use aim, so it must be the computer... these problems started when service pack 2 was put on it but only today did aim stop working.....

soon im going to get upset and put windows 2000 pro on it and leave it alone.. i never had problems like this with that..
