Federelli Posted January 25, 2005 Author Posted January 25, 2005 "Patience my young padawan" The ARM9 musn't be easy.
Federelli Posted January 25, 2005 Author Posted January 25, 2005 I got more demos to work. They include a scanline demonstration, a heat effect, a background and plasma effect. But my photoshop copy somehow got corrupted, to it'll take a while to get the shots.
Two9A Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 You guys are gonna be the first to pull this of.I know for a fact that isn't the case; there're at least 3 projects that are further ahead than me right now. Btw, Two9A, upload the version in which OAM works.Oh, sure. You realise that such a thing doesn't exist, yeh? The ARM9 musn't be easy. That's actually not the hard bit; the problem will be getting my head around the new memory map, the multi-processor communication and that darned 3D. I can't even do 2D yet. But my photoshop copy somehow got corrupted, to it'll take a while to get the shots.Ooh. Don't worry, I've got more than enough to marvel at in this thread, as it stands. (btw, MSPaint? Best thing evar.)
Federelli Posted January 25, 2005 Author Posted January 25, 2005 Happens that in mspaint i get huge png files, horrible jpg comrpession and incredibly ugly gif.
Federelli Posted January 25, 2005 Author Posted January 25, 2005 (edited) Also, i meant the version where you got this working -> (Working as in, it displays more stuff than on the current uploaded version, even though it's not yet correct ) Edited January 25, 2005 by Federelli

Federelli Posted January 26, 2005 Author Posted January 26, 2005 Ok, i've grabed the version you uploaded right now 26/01 and i still get only the Swizzlesticks word, nothing else (besides the bizarre square on the top left), meaning, no red E s

It'll probably be another long time before it does work.
Robert Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 If someone can tell me where to obtain that test rom, i'll try it out for myself
Two9A Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 If someone can tell me where to obtain that test rom, i'll try it out for myselfSure, it's in the downloadable zip file as of 2 minutes ago.
Robert Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 (edited) It ran exactly as in your screenshot. I found a few bugs of a more basic nature. 1. If I open something, it works fine. Then close it, and open something else. The open file dialog keeps reappearing, have to hold down esc for a few secs to get rid of it. 2. I set up a file association, so that by double-clicking on a GBA file will open the emu and run the file. When I double-click, an error message occurs, and it says to look in the log file. After that, you cannot do anything with the emu except close it. Here is the log file: [20050127.12:14:38] [20050127.12:14:38] Opening log file: C:\Download\nds\dsemu-0.0.1d\log.txt[20050127.12:14:38] LOG: Starting session.[20050127.12:14:39] ARM7: ROM file: C:\Download\nds\dsemu-0.0.1d\C:\Download\nds\dsemu-0.0.1d\testdiv.gba[20050127.12:14:39] MMU: Memoryspace allocation complete.[20050127.12:14:39] ARM7: Initialised.[20050127.12:14:39] GPU: VRAM allocated.[20050127.12:14:39] GPU: Initialised.[20050127.12:14:39] MMU: ROM file open.[20050127.12:14:39] FAIL: MMU: GameROM allocation.[20050127.12:14:39] FAIL: MMU: Reset.[20050127.12:14:39] FAIL: ARM7: Reset.[20050127.12:14:39] FAIL: Main: Initialisation.[20050127.12:14:39] Main: Emulator shutting down.[20050127.12:14:39] GPU: Shutdown after 0 frames.[20050127.12:14:39] MMU: Shutdown.[20050127.12:14:39] ARM7: Shutdown.[20050127.12:14:44] LOG: Ending session. Sounds like it's getting stuck in a loop in init for that Open thing. And this duplication of the path? Rather weird indeed. I'll have to check it out.
Robert Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 (edited) Another way to run something in windows is to drag the "file to run" on top of the exe file. This produces the same log error. HAH! I actually got to play a game !!! It's called Mortal Konsole which looks like Pong. The graphics for the paddles and ball are corrupt, but IT DID RUN. I got to beat the computer 10 to 1. Am I the first person to ever win a game on this emu? Edited January 29, 2005 by robbbert
