  1. Agozer, I know about the Plus and Chaos versions showing up. I think it's weird that they're switched for pestilence. I'm not bothered by the Plus text myself, but I do like the added characters. The only reason to really check out the Boss hack is that all the characters are shown with their icons. No need to do button combinations or cheats to play as them. Yeah, I'm lazy when it comes to playing as bosses.

  2. The site you grabbed that from is great for finding messed up pics and goof ups. Of course it's associated with Rotten, so little kids stay away. :P Swamp_Thing, we do those things to give our lives "meaning" in the loosest sense of the word. They really don't matter, but we have excuses for doing them anyways. "Dentity," hehe, sometimes minor spelling mistakes make my day (I like to laugh at my posts before I edit them ;) ). It's deity, BTW. :P If I'm wrong, that's even funnier.

  3. As BoomBa_GoosE was saying, this game is a bootleg hack rather than some internet hack. In fact, every once in a while, you find the MVS version floating around on eBay. IMO, this hack is superior to all internet hacks and most, if not all, Plus/Hero bootleg hacks. I only say this because they ripped levels from other games and put them into it. I've yet to see any other Neo Geo hack with changed graphics, which is a pity, IMO, because there could be some cool hacks. BTW, are there any tools that support hacking the Neo Geo's graphics? AFAIK, there aren't, but I really haven't checked the rom hacking tools in a while and when I did, I never payed any attention to if they supported NG or not.

  4. Who, Noob or Human Smoke? Noob had an ending on the Genesis/SNES version and, AFAIK, you couldn't play as him at the arcades and only with a Gameshark/Pro Action Replay for the Saturn version. I haven't beaten UMK3 with Human Smoke, so I don't know if he had an ending or not. Funny thing about Noob's ending is that it led into MK4 (it talks about Shinnok coming in to take control). I think they were working on Sub-Zero Mythologies at the time, though.

  5. I would, but I feel no need to when Nebula suits my needs just fine. I was thinking of doing the Mach 3 MAME version, but I procratinated too long and now MAME is up to 0.81 and the tutorial (last I checked) is for 0.79. If the code wasn't in a patch file, I also would've tried implementing it into Daphne since it's a laserdisc only emulator.

  6. He's there with Scorpion's spear. In UMK3, they remade him. He's identical to his MKT version (at least in the Genesis and SNES UMK3). I don't know why they have the graphics for Scorpion's spear but no Scorpion. :D At least they got wise a did UMK3. Noob was real cheap in UMK3/MKT because he could do a smoke "fireball" that disabled your opponent from being able to attack you. That coupled with the easy combos, you could beat the game no sweat. That's how I used to do it. :)

  7. The N64 version of MKT also had a chamelion character. Her name was Khamelion and she would switch between the "female ninjas." The code for Human Smoke is the same on the N64 MKT, IIRC. You don't have to know your opponent into the pit to fight Reptile in MK1, you just had to do a fatality with a double flawless victory and shadows in front of the moon. I don't know about the arcade version (haven't played it in a while), but on the Genesis version, Reptile (a.ka. "Scorpion" :D) could use both Scorpion and Sub-Zero's moves in any round. There was a Kombat Kode in MK3 that allowed the winner of the match to fight Smoke and there was one to fight Noob Saibot (a shadow version of Kano with a Scorpion spear). To unlock Smoke on the arcade, you had to enter the extended Kombat Kode that you got after finishing the game/losing. The same was true for unlocking Classic Sub-Zero, Ermac, and Millena in UMK3. To unlock Smoke on the Genesis and SNES, you needed to enter button cheats either before the main menu or at the main menu (Genesis had two ways to unlock him, IIRC).

  8. Mr. X, I thought you meant neutrons since you were referring to electrons, but that's aside the point. Also, quarks are subatomic particles, so I was mistaken about protons, neutrons, and electrons, but was right about quarks. Subatomic particles are particles that make up an atom or are smaller than an atom. Quarks don't have charges, IIRC, but tastes and colors/smells (not sure which). Also, the existance of gluons, last time I checked, was still pretty hypothetical.

  9. Well, if you believe the Futurama theory, you'll see another universe. I always wondered if it was possible to reach the "end of the universe" and what would happen when you reached it. I personally thought maybe it would wrap around (ala Pac-Man), but that's opinion and not theory. IIRC, Einstein's Theory of Relativity is an extension of Newton's Laws of Physics. Newton's laws applied mainly to activity on a "planet's" surface, while relativity helped explain further aspects that don't fit in the laws. That "testing" of Einstein's theory is old news. They're thinking maybe they'll have to expand the theory again. I never did hear what ever came of it. The idea of ten dimensions (it's spelled with an i, not an e :-D ), would explain the "wrap around" effect that we were discussing, if I'm not mistaken. Currently we're considered to at least live in a four dimensional world (space/time being the fourth). It's to help explain the movement of time and the possibility of black holes.

  10. Cominus, I believe you're talking about MK3 not MK2. Anyways, it's really easy to fight Reptile on the console (Genesis, at least) with the cheats. The DULLARD code was the only real way to make sure you got shadows in front of the moon, plus you could set the enemies health to "Danger."
