  1. Couldn't get into Vandal Hearts. Graphically speaking i thought it was the fugliest strategy-RPG i ever played . The extreme gore was cool though, but it's no Ogre Battle or FF Tactics.

Currently playing what may be perhaps the most beautiful (and perhaps greatest) RPG in my entire lifetime -->

Mother 3 is both hilarious and very endearing; man tears were flowing down my cheeks at one point! Never imagined a game on the Xbox could make me even do that. (it's a GBA game technically though)

It's a brilliant game. Very awesome that someone actually translated the whole thing. :thumbsup1:

  2.

I dig the pirated Vbulletin they've got there. I bet if you pointed VB their way, your troubles would end right quick. :banghead:

How can you tell it's pirated?

I wouldn't pay $85/yr "lease" on their board software either though, there's better free forum software than VB. Not that that excuses them, they shouldn't be using it.

I can't. But what are the odds that some shat-looking little site has a legit license vb?

  3. I see, I'll look at the dip switches. So for the games that you can change the region, that means that for that game there is no such thing as US or JP version since all languages are supported right?

Not entirely true. Some games, such as King of Gladiator (a Neo-Geo bootleg), has a "jumper" on the circuit board itself that sets the region. It's permanently (normally) set to Japanese or English on a real board.

I know of other games that have eeproms [non volatile ram (ram that doesn't erase itself once the power is off)] that permanently set the region. If you swap out the eeproms, you can change the region. ^^

Some Japan-only games still have English language programmed into them. PGM & CPS2 games, for example, have several languages programmed into them. Change a single byte of the program rom, and the language changes.

  4. You realize the Korean conflict was partly a stalemate because the Chinese didn't want the American forces that near their borders, right? They gave the Koreans support partly for just that reason. You really think they'd just let that buffer zone fall? If anything, the Chinese would encourage the Americans/etc to come from the south [where the border is most heavily fortified and full of land mines] and then come from the North and taking possession of anything they felt a right to have, and they would very likely cover most of the country before the American "distraction" could progress very far.

I don't recall saying anything to the contrary........wow

You implied it with what you said. This debate tactic is very poor, please try something else next time. You really do use this every time you're on the defensive.

If anything, I forsee China stepping on some NK toes. Then if China doesn't get their way, everyone else has free range to help them get it.

If NK doesn't bend over for China, you can bet China will allow others to help make them.

P.S. This isn't the 2 Korea's flocking with each other this time around, this is NK flocking with everyone else. China sure as crap doesn't want a hostile neighbor that could cause China problems with everyone else.

Since when has China given one crap about what the world thinks of them? Seriously? They cracked down on the Tibetans right before the Olympics... If they have a neighbor they don't like, they'll simply go in and make that neighbor see things their way.

  5. I highly doubt the US will ever make any military advances on North Korea. Most likely they will do something massively stupid and piss off the Chinese. North Korea will then be the new Tibet (and you know how wonderful the Chinese occupation of Tibet has been for the Tibetans lol).

I really doubt this, considering how vocal the Chinese have been with NK. The Chinese are PISSED, and being the closest thing NK has to a "friend" I don't think their tantrum is going to get them anywhere.

If anything, I foresee China stepping on some NK toes. Then if China doesn't get their way, everyone else has free range to help them get it.

I can't imagine the Chinese ever letting anyone that close to their borders. They're a bit more on the incredibly paranoid (borderline schizophrenic) end of the spectrum.

    They don't need to.......

North Korea borders South Korea and lots of pretty blue ocean. Going in from China would actually not make any sense, Pyongyang is further from the Chinese border than the ocean on either side or the SK border.

  7. I never used FBA emulator before, was wondering if FBA for xbox runs Neogeo CD games?

    Thanks

no it dosent emulate the ngcd you need the neogeo cd emulator and your in luck.

fba emulates cps1,cps2,neogeo and some cave, raizing shmups and others.

That's something I should add to my list. It's really quite easy to add NCD support, I just haven't done it (note that the quality of the emulation wouldn't be high enough for vanilla FBA)

  9. iq132 has been busy lately with work on new drivers.

    news via neosource.

    asura blade,asura buster,aliens,gradius,crime fighters.....

remember these drivers are for pc fba.

All of them except Asura Blade/Buster should work fine on the xbox without any modifications. ^^

Asura Blade/Busters just needs a vmm hooked up (which Kenshiro can do in his sleep...), and it should work fine. ^^

when you run asura blade on coinops it can be a bit slow sometimes but perfectly playable if you turn off sound.

    Ok?

Living with you in your backwoods in middle of nowhere

    Mooooooooooo!

I live on a lake! I can go swimming, fishing, boating, or drowning whenever I want! She'd love it here! Plus, I imagine she'd look amazing in a topless/bottomless bikini.

At least you can dream about it with your d*** in the hand ;)
