  1. A monopoly is just when a company dominates a market completely. There are few true monopolies, but there are many near monopolies like Microsoft. There is competition but VERY little. Sony has a near monopoly on consoles, Nintendo has a near monopoly on handhelds, and Microsoft has a near monopoly on the OS market. The next round of console wars is going to be exciting because unlike this generation, other consoles actually have a chance. Nintendo with their "revolution" is claiming to create something new and exciting, if it turns out to be as great as they say it could be the must get system of the next generation. Virtual reality, or something like it could generate a lot of sales for Nintendo if they can make it affordable. Sony has the PS3 which is claimed to be extremely powerful, though remember what they said about the PS2. PS3 already has a massive lineup from previous consoles and a massive following that will buy a PS3 no matter what. Microsoft has one of the greatest benefits of all by being the first console to be released. If they make a really powerful system cheap, which they can if they take loses, it will be simply irresistible to buy. Who wants to wait a year or so for a next gen console when they could get it soon, and cheap? The PS3 still has an edge by it's following alone. But with the release of the next XBox, that could lead to loss of costumers who would rather keep their next XBox than buy another console which may be hardly more powerful, and be more expensive. The next Gamecube will then compete with the PS3 at about the same time, and if the next Gamecube is something very unique and cheap people may just buy it instead of the PS3 cutting into PS3 sales. Even after all that, the PS3 will probably sell pretty well. So overall it's anyones game.
  2. Go to http://bubbz.pocketheaven.com/?system=gba&section=patch They have every translation, trainer, and GBA fix ever released. Just scroll down to the very bottom to find the Pokemon Leaf Green translation. I don't believe any are 100% complete, so I would just wait until the official english version comes out to play it.
  3. nevermind, I got link support to work. Also check out the site, the person mentioned interest in the DS!
  4. Go to it's official site at http://www.work.de/nocash/gba.htm There is the debug version that still costs money but it's really only for developers. From what I've seen it has the same exact compatibility as VBA. So why would anyone bother, when VBA is around with so many features. LINK SUPPORT that's why!!!! NO$GBA has link support!! Atleast it claims to, I'm having trouble setting it up, I managed to get 2 games running but I can't link them, if anyone knows how to get the link function working please tell me. But if someone can get it to work, this will mean BIG news to GBA emulation.
  5. What codec pack did you install so we can watch out for it. Also on the topic, I use K-Lite. I don't see what's the difference between getting the codec pack and getting them seperately, except the codec pack saves me time.
  6. When I try to use the now.bin file an error appears saying "Wrong CUE File format 3" and is unusable. Is there a way to fix this?
  7. Alcohol 120% creates a.MDS file. Is there a way that it will create a.bin file?
  8. I have a.nrg file (a Nero disc image file) I want to convert it to a.bin file. How?
  9. Is there an ISO that I can burn to a disc that contains saves for lots of DC games? A program on a disc that allow me to transfer chosen saves onto VMUs?
  10. Even though programs like Peer Guardian block those IPs Kazaa lite is better than the official version of Kazaa. Kazaa lite doesn't contain adware and spyware like Kazaa does, and includes many other functions. Go to this link for more information and the download http://www.zeropaid.com/kazaalite/
  11. hmmm... for some reason I could only extract them while running WinRAR. Well it's extracted and is a single file now.
  12. It may be that the CPU Priority Level is High, although if that's the default setting then it probably isn't because I use default settings and it works fine. I'd uninstall Alcohol 120%, restart your computer, and install Alchohol 120% again. That way it's a totally clean installation with all changes gone. Try burning the disc again with DAO/SAO set and enable buffer underrun technology. Change no other settings. If it doesn't work then, then try burning with Nero because it's a Nero image and Nero may be better with it. You can download Nero at http://www.nero.com/us/download_nero.php?pak=1 If it STILL doesn't work then your image is probably messed up and you have a whole lot of coasters.
  13. I downloaded a.RAR file that contained files in it called file.svc 530 bytes file.001 19 MB file.002 19 MB file.003 19 MB file.004 19 MB file.005 19 MB file.006 7.33 MB How do I get a single file from these. I have WinRAR installed but WinRAR doesn't recognize the files, atleast in the sense that I can't click on one of the files, click extract and have them all as one file.
  14. Set it to DAO/SAO, and enable buffer underrun technology. That's what I do with ISOs of mine and they all work perfectly in Chankast. I didn't try them in the Dreamcast console because I don't have one... yet... That's the settings I use with all of my ISOs, and it works perfectly for me so try that and tell me if it works.
  15. What settings should I have on Alcohol 120% when burning a selfboot Dreamcast ISO? There is a special setting for Playstation ISOs, but none for Dreamcast ISOs. So should I choose Normal CD, and what other options should I choose? I have Windows XP and the latest version of Alcohol 120%.
  16. If I burned an Auto Boot Dreamcast game on a blank CD-R will it play perfectly on my Dreamcast? Do emulators for Dreamcast work by placing the emulator and the roms on a blank CD and playing it in the Dreamcast? Do I need a mod-chip, or do I need any special hook ups for this to work?
  17. Chankast Utilities simply doesn't have that feature operating yet. You'll have to wait until a future version of Chankast Utilities, or until Chankast adds that function. Probably a matter of waiting a few days. Until then just create virtual drives for the ISO using Alcohol 120% or the free Daemon Tools and by specifying that drive on Chankast.
  18. GREAT JOB!! Chankast Utilities makes the emulator very people friendly. With Chankast Utilities, and the devoted Chankast team, Dreamcast emulation looks to have a very bright future.
  19. Visual Boy Advance supports real time clock. Just go to options on the menu bar, go to Emulator, and check off Real Time Clock. It's as simple as that. If you don't see it then you're using an old version that doesn't support it, just use the newest version available at http://vba.ngemu.com/ If you're impatient for night or day to come, just use a cheat. Cheats can be found at http://gamefaqs.com/ just do a search.
