OK maybe each version will have the video and pics of the hot games id add to show case in the correct folders.... just add roms of same names from your arcade game backups
It would mean CoinOPS showcase R3 would be about 100 Megs instead of 75 Megs but it would mean for each build you could see the hotest games added??
thoughts please??
So the "infrastructure" for the roms will be already in place, cool

im sure a patch wouldn't do too much harm if it means we can play those cool games...
ppl who are downloading the showcase now pls set ur upload speed to unlimited (if you can) this should speed up the download for everyone....

Just played Osman for the first time in Coinops. I'm really impressed with how smooth it is and how badly I suck at it. lol

In response to the question BP I think more options is fine and the sooner the release the better, helps keep the interest going and on a personal note I lost all my roms 3 months ago and was so gutted I just stopped using coinops completely. A release complete with working games would really help me out.
Using mame on the PC at the moment but would much rather use my xbox.
Well done for keeping up the momentum for so long - the xbox emulation continues to fight for another day, and shoot and blow up and race etc etc...

I have an xbox 1.4 with 64megs stock memory and an executer 2.1 lite (built in FTP server)
I was playing a game last night on Coinops Ignite Full Build and was surprised to receive a malloc out of memory error. Like a numpty i forgot which game...
I was wondering what I can do to fix this if I ever come across the problem again (as the games have been tested by Hellsfury and should load)
ok, first, were you playing in 480p or 720p?
you say you were playing a game in coinops when you got a out of memory error, then you say (as the games have been tested by Hellsfury and should load) so which is it were you playing the game when it happened or did it happen when it was loading?
the reason i ask this is because if you were playing the game when it happened then some how you hit the back+A+B and it tried to take a screenshot and with some games there's not enough memory to go around and it will crash with out of memory error.
sbpaabck, i have a question for you.. you say you have a xecuter 2.1 lite with built in FTP server, how does that work because i have the same xbox as you but i have a xecuter 2.3b pro and i have never seen where it said it had a ftp server built in and of course i have never tried to use it. the only xecuter i know of that has a built in ftp is the x3 chip and i googled my a$$ off and could not find any info on this matter.. so if yours has it i would think mine would have it also unless it was buggy on the 2.1 chip and they took it out and didn't put it back in until the x3 chip.. so with that said can you tell me how to use the built in ftp.
edit: man i wish you knew what game it was.. can you try and find it again? in all honesty i could have missed a game as testing 1000 games is a real pain in the a$$.. took me about 8 hours and at the end my eyes were falling out of my head.
honestly dont worry about it. it was probably a local issue that will crop up from time to time.
As far as the FTP server is concerned maybe it is built into the dash software so that might not be the reason.
If it ever happens again I will PM you.
Compared to my last romset this release is a joy to behold so please don't worry about it. All I feel is gratitude so its not an issue.

Is the executer 2.1 FTP server eating my memory?
I read that sometimes a "memory leak" can occur so I guess I would fix it if it was this by re-setting the xbox.
If that doesn't work then I guess I need to change the VM Settings? How do I do this and what would I change them to. I have tried to look this up but I still don't understand how it works.
If someone could take the time to explain step by step how to sort out the VM settings i'd be most grateful. Its not really a problem but I like to know how to fix things when they go wrong, it makes me feel less of a noob

Copesfogo also mentions he likes the Saturn controller, is this because of the d-pad and the fact it has 6 buttons (the same as most arcade cabinets?)
Im surprised it would work with an xbox, is it just "plug and play" with an adapter? if so that is really surprisung that it would work on a more advanced machine such as the xbox

I have to admit I liked the xbox controller until I tried to use the D-Pad, now I think about it what was I thinking, sure it has lots of buttons and analogue funtionality but play a FPS and compare it ti a keyboard and mouse? no contest!

I don't know about you guys but im finding it nigh on impossible to master Ken/Ryu's Dragon Punch (Hiduken?) using the innacurate D-Pad on the original xbox controller. Like any bad workman im blaming my tools!
Does anyone know if this arcade stick is any good? does anyone already own one?
Does anyone have a better reccommendation for an arcade stick (not X-Arcade costing a million dollars that is)
I was surprised there is such little choice for the xbox arcade controllers, maybe due to a lack of xbox fighting games?

Thanks for the tutorial, pretty ingenious solution to the resolution issues faced in coinops.
I would love to implement this but simply don;t have the time to search out the default res size for each and every of my 1010 roms (ingnite full vers)
Has anyone got any ideas on how to streamline the sorting of the roms into their different categories?
Is there any sort of list other than individual articles on each rom? treid googling but no joy
What would really kick ass is if coinops could somehow auto config the correct resolution for every rom when the rom is loaded.

There seems to be a problem with the MEGAUPLOAD release, the fourth link reports an error while downloading:
"Unexpected end of archive" the error is on the fourth link down that ends with "WKI"
The error occurs about 1sec into the download.
I have checked this repeatedly last night and the problem persists, also when I checked this morning before work.
All the other links seem to be fine tho
Try using a different browser to download. I tested it with Chromium and Opera, both fine. Unexpected end of archive error while downloading? Surely this error only comes when you try to extract the archive, not download it?

I was using firefox and chose to open not save (this worked fine for the other zips) the download completes within 3 or 4 secs and when the rar file then opens there is only 1 rom zip in there and winrar reports "unexpected end of archive"
I think I have maybe exceeded my download limit for a set period of time. I am not a premium member. I assume you didn't let the first three downloads finish before trying the fourth so maybe your daily limit wasn't exceeded like mine? I will try again tonight after work. Thanks for the input.

Haven't got this yet but a big pre-emptive thank you to all involved, Especially BP (for creating) STF (for helping and almost becoming the "front man" of the project lol) and Hellsfury (for releasing the version im after:))
I really hope this makes it into many many xboxs and will be doing my best to promote within my circles.
