I dont think its proper at all but it should be close enough.....questions
1) does it have only one version of fixeight and does it work?
2) is there only one version of slapfight and does it work.
3) Also does it have main event?
if the answer of 1 only one and it works its correct
if the answer of 2 only one and it works its correct
if the answer to 3 is no then its correct
If the answer varies this version has bugs in it but will be closeish Id say and is just a straight untested build from the dats
Answer to question 1: no

I need to rebuild my romset then try again might take me a while got lots of files to try and find
update: using the set from r share all is well now

the dats dont give you a correct set.......there are many issues with them that I have got rid of...... you can trust me on the issues I dont want to list them all but there is at 50 roms with issues built from dats.
Its up to you guys if you dont mind a small issues hidden around the place then the dats are great everything should boot at least with them
Ok so now I have no hope, could only get ahold of mame set 0.128 (0.84 may be out there but I sure can't find it!) that was the set i originally used to build my romset (using the DAT provided) effectively rolling the set back (having to find missing drivers etc from the net.) now it turns out the DATs are no good?
Does anyone know/have an idea on how to get this remotely close to being sorted? has anyone managed please share your story of success!! throw me a frickin bone here! lol if this is all because someone shared the BETA seems a bit silly to me.... I think a full release on a torrent site by one of BP's close and trusted allies would have been the best thing - we could all have supported it via seeding and it would be available to everyone - no need to sign up to silly BITGAMER, no need to spend pennies on RAPIDSHARE (to get stung by a download limit aargh.)
Anyhow just an idea

I think the problem is definately rom related my set needs work on it so those 3 questions probably didn't apply to me.

additional: just purchased 30 days of rapidshare since bitgamer seems to have trailed off so hopefully will get a set from there thanks to another kind mamer providing me the links. If anyone else wants a piece of the action PM me, not sure if it is BP's super duper version but willing to help anyone who might be stuck.

The plot thickens! oh dear - well I got the standalone rapidshare link from gavin19 (cheers gav!) that had screenshots for 1010 games (v nice too!)
I was just going to get the other games from the bitgamer torrent then add them to the standalone. Am at work now will try what you suggested and let you know tonight!

Excellent I got the proper stuff through bitgamer after all it just didn't like my email address - mustn't like yahoo worked fine with google mail.
A hearty thank you to all involved looking forwad to even greater heights of MAME emulation once this is done!
B P (or should it be B S????) well done for being so organised and dedicated to this! a truly spectacular ode to the games of old
they will live on for a while longer.....p.s. wow this bitgamer is so fast its scorching my modem! sorry bitgamer all is forgiven!!

I was able, 1 seeder at the moment and I can't connect to it. Try signing up with gmail account, took seconds. Yahoo email didn't work.

I anyone else having trouble signing up to this? I tried twice with 2 email addresses its been 24 hrs and no reply! starting to thing this bitgamer is just an excuse to get my addresses to add to a spam list!
Has anyone else managed to sign up?
yeah I was using Y Mail, if there is only 1 seed don't think i'll bother - cheers for the info tho (I already got like 2700 feel greedy for trying harder oh well.)

So there's a full version of the release available somewhere? exciting news; if you are also a nerd
Could someone please hand me a sip of the holy grail and pm me with details on where to obtain the 4gb behemoth of arcading pleasuring aka the coinops Gold full release?
I see there has been one tantalising attempt already on the main boards - unfortunately that has ben quickly shot down - I bet a few others wish they had caught it in time also.
Will edit to say I have the link if others wish to pm me after this for their sip or the golden nectar.
Apologies for the madness its been a long day at work and the amount of effort that has gone into this is slightly humbling!

to use screenshots just name them the same as the rom but wth a .png at the and and put them in the screenshots folder.

Thanks for the Beta!! I have been using FBA, mameox platinum, mameox 128 but since I found coinops I have been using that all the time. Now I am using coinops GOLD have no plans to use anything else.
I found out of my ROM set I managed to get like 2700 games working with coinops+ and gold which is many many more than before....
I especially liked the inclusion of the DATs as this is what got me going.
Looking forward to finding out how to add screenshots and how to link them to the games in the list!
Coinops is class a total window into a forgotten past, I love finding new games to play but they are so hard!
Discovered a souped up version of Golden Axe 2 that I didn't know existed until last night but it is a bit messed up, the sprites seem to have lost perspective and you get some interesting vertical scrolling anomalies but I guess this is a driver issue and so hopefully may be fixed later on the great emulation journey....
Fanatstic game tho, great characters sizzling effects and bad guys lie around dead as a testament to your violent nature - cool
Is there anything in particular I should look out for during testing? just games that don't work or anything else?
