wasting more time trying to get my neo games onto nebula has turned out to be a real biatch!, its telling me that metal slug 4 is locked, im like WTF! is there any way around this? thanks

coming to a late conclusion, i think now im going to move all my games over to nebula, i already have my fav cps2 games on there and i would eliminate at least 2 more emulators. dam i should have done this in the beginning but it was a great learning experience.

ok spent a hell of a long time getting about 95% of my neo games to working in kawaks and all it is good. Now i wanted to see my cross compatibility with Nebula and not suprisingly only 15 of 40+ games work. So for the hell of it i copied my info from my.asr file from kawaks and pasted it into the Nebula NEOGEO file. Upon doing this nebula wont even attempt to audit the games, why would this be? if there are multiple or duplicate dat files in the NEOGEO file does does it freak out or somthing?

I currently play it on zinc, will nebula or kawaks play this game aswell, tried adding the dat but it wont play.

ill look it up as well but whats the deal with decripted vs non decpripted (sp) roms in the set?

Ok, one last time 1 get the dat file from the rom data maker 2 open it with word pad and paste that info into the asr file file. 3 get rid of the dat file (cause its not needed) 4 play the game the game im stuck on is metal slug 3. i downloaded 2 other roms but it still wont read it yet. ?

Ok still not working but i think i got it.... Using kawaks so we are on the same track. I used the rom data maker and do all that stuff...I take the info it gives me and i paste it in to the asr file using notepad. the dat file i put it into the tracklist folder, I also i made sure the directory was pointing to the right folder for the track list and bam it sould work. ***EDIT******** I am not sure if i put the dat file in the tracklist, i just use it to paste it into the asr file, so then i assume i just get rid of the file. after that the game should work i suppose.

ok i hate to be redundant, but i have a kawaks emulator that came with a loader. no problem. But there are 2 icons the standard winkawaks icon and the loader which is a star. Both icons open kawaks, and the loader loads up more games. but none of them let me edit the asr file in kawaks to put the info in.??? any suggestions?

is there a kawaks loader for version 1.49, all the ones i have found are for ver. 1.45 and does not seem to be compatable with 1.49 any suggestions.

i do that the end result is a dat file right? It then gives me a screen to with 2 boxes seperated by ? marks then i hit next I then take that dat file and put it in the tracklist???? i see other dat files there.

1. gives me lets me find a game file 2. choose a game, ill choose Metal slug 1, its not showing in the kawaks directory click next shows me all the parts of the rom 3. assume i just hit next again and it sorts the zip file. 4. gives me system (already selects neo) RomName (mslug) Game (blank) Cartrige id (0121) also says (updata) GrxCrypt (choose between other neo games kof 2002 ext) GfxKey ( 0 ) ButLayout (MVS recommended) Fix (0) so what next.....

does this Rom data maker have a formal name?

ok have the rom center download, is that the same as the (rom dat maker)?. but any way is there a simple way to do this or am i going to have to manually rename all the necessary files? any suggestions would great. stupid question but where is the asr.dat file in winkawaks? Thanks

im curious why there is not any dat files that willl have that already done for you, or is it because there are many versions of the roms out there and it would be waste of time to put them all in? is there any sites in general that have kawaks and nebula (formatted?) type games. I know we cant give the sitesout but a simple y/n will will suffice. ill start on that this weekend

When i take my entire set of neogeo games 40+ from my neorage and place them into either kawaks or nebula i get about 10-15 roms that show up as playable. I have tried adding neo geo bios to nearly all the folders just to see if anything came up and nothing, and im using the latest versions of all of them. I dont know if its my roms or if its my dat files or my bios?. I read the instructions in the emulators and did what they said but I still cant even get half of my games to show up as playable. Can some one please help me with this, ill be going back through the forums to see what i can dig up. why dont the latest versions of the emulators automatically detect atleast most of my older games? Thanks. I can do this i just need somewhere to start, If i have to download new roms, ill even go that far.....

so if i log off at home then i would log off on all the computers that i forgot to log off at in school? but i have logged off a couple times at home, but not at the ones at school. and when i came today to school and opened 1 emu i was still logged on, for that computer. aaaahhhh This is confusing screw it, who cares

I know this would be my fault if somthing ever happened. but my quesiton is could Gamecop, or higher mods log us off if it was ever needed. i ask this because some of my favorite computers at school are somtimes still logged on under me when i forget or in in a hurry, i wouldnt expect you to but could it be done?

I see, im using neorage, I always wondered why people used other programs to run neogames. Ill do that thanks. so fba or which one is the better emulators to increase resolution? does it actually look considerably better (ie worth my time and effort to find working rom sets)?
