  1. can you 2 please try to work together and look past your differences, you both do great work and it is greatly appreciated. i can see that the people or person in these arguments is very opinionated, and all that does is lead to the next arguement. Just end the argueing and try to talk about the work that needs to get done, and if you can please "apppreciate each other"
  2. Sounds good, there are many games that run fine with filters. I was hoping with this next release you could have one release that is dvd compatible. I'd greatly appreciate it. Have you ever been able to get any of the NBA Jam games to run well, this is one of my favorite games ever. Thanks
  3. Well if you get time, it would be awesome if you could release dual release of your emu, one that can launch off DVD and one configured to launch off hardrive. I'd greatly appreciate it as I like to always have a disc backup and the ability to add each build to my collection.
  4. you could try installing coinops to your xbox hdd and then just have the roms burned on dvdr. then just go into the advanced settings and point the emulator to g:/roms. this way it would read the roms from a dvd disc. its an option to try anyway. Yea that's an option, but I want the ability to play the emulator on the fly without and pre-installed stuff. Console emulators launch fine off the big ass emu discs and I have built my own multi game emu discs. I'm not sure why there is a problem trying to load the console emus when coinops is burned to dvd. As brit suggested I changed D:\\SAVES, to E:\\SAVES by hex editing the xbes. That's the the correct directory? Anyone got any other ideas why the emu can detect and load the games off the dvd to be selected in coinops, but the console emulators freeze upon selecting the game to load.
  5. I was wondering if anyone could take a look into why the consoles emulators fail to load off dvd. I tried editing the saves through hex editing but all the consoles emu's still lock up before they launch. Help would greatly appreciated since I and i'm sure others would like to have the option of having the emulators work off dvd. If someone would be able to look into it and edit the XBE's i could try testing them off dvd. Thankyou
  6. I need help, if anyone can edit the console XBES so that they run off of dvd I would greatly appreciate it. I edited the save paths but the emulator still locks up when trying to load any console game off the dvd. Hope someone can figure it out for me. Also, the neogeo.zip belongs ziped and is placed in the roms folder, correct? If so I must have to try another neogeo.zip because the one I used says the sfix.sfx isn't found and that other files don't have the correct checksum.
  7. So somebody renamed the snes genesis packs all by hand, ugh, i'm guessing the used some sort of batch renaming program to add on part of the file name. Yea showcase is cool, but the regular builds are nice also and you can fit alot more games on one disc. Actually if you delete the weaker versions of game series likes KOF you can fit most all the games on one dvd. Your emulator doesn't enable us to choose video filters does it?
  8. Is there a rename program that makes the console file names compatible with this emulator. Over the years I have created my own collection of the best console games, native and foreign.
  9. BTW thanks everyone for there hard work, teamwork and cooperation. A great emulator with great presentation and user friendly. Ok thanks, i'll check if the Neogeo bios included has the 2.3 unibios. I know i have that bios laying around somewhere. Did anyone put video files together for the consoles, all i have right now is picture previews.
  10. Ok, i'll try that. I'm spreading Coinops R6 with videos across 3 dvds. This first disc contains the roms and video files for games A-J. Dang I also realize i forgot to include the needed extra files so that Neogeo games load. I know i need to include the Neogeo.zip, and other files i'm forgetting? Did anyone put a pack together for the console games. I have have supernes and genesis pack, but no other comprehensive collections for the other consoles.
  11. Hello, I burned coinops r6 to dvd combining it with the video files from coinops showcase. My arcade games run fine, but when i try to load console games the emulator locks up. All files are unaltered. Did I have to change some settings or some files so that the console games run off of dvd, thanks for your help.
  12. Well I like having things backed up on dvd, also it's nice to be able to carry it in your hand and bring it to a friends house or something. I don't need 10 different versions of kof and/or some other games. I choose the best couple games from each series. Fumanchu are you sure that error is caused by having the wrong rom path? I will have to try and see. All my roms are in the coinops rom directory. Anyone else have an opinion on what causes this error.
  13. Hi everyone, I need some help. I had been wanting to load multiple Mame Emulators off one dvd because certain mame emulators have advantages over others. I used CDX menu to create a multi-mame disc. I created a cdx multi-game disc with Fbaxxx, FBAxxx pro, Mameox 128 plus, Mameox 71.21, and Coinops Ignite. This program puts each game/emu in it's own directory "game 1", "game2" and loads from the cdx xbe in the root. You start a game by selecting the emulator/game you want from the cdx menu. The problem is when I try to load Mameox off the dvd I get a "could not load driver info file" and the emulator fails to load. I'm assuming this is because something gets messed up because the emulator is loading from a sub folder and not off the root directory. What do I need to edit/fix so that mameox builds load properly from dvd sub-folders and so that I don't get the "could not load driver info file" error?
  14. Maybe the drivers could be updated, I guess I could suggest it. The drivers for Osman/Cannon Dancer should be updated for sure though. Have you ever heard of it? It's made by the same people who made strider!
  15. I have a zip with files that will apparently allow you to make a dvd version of mugen. I will update this thread once i get around to trying it.
  16. Thanks for the help. You should just lock this thread since apparently no one can help me in anyway. I know the forum rules, there are ways to help with-out breaking them though. You know it and I know it.
  17. The checksum on the spc700 doesn't seem to be a problem since i get the same message on the games that work. I have downloaded from multiple reputable sites, and to no avail. So that's why i came here for suggestions.
  18. The Nintendo Super System is an arcade system which was used to preview Super Nintendo games in the U.S. It was basically a Super Nintendo set up to use a menu which allowed the player to play the games for a certain amount of time depending on how many credits they had, working exactly like Nintendo's PlayChoice-10 hardware. [1] [edit] List of Nintendo Super System games * ActRaiser * The Addams Family * Contra III: The Alien Wars * David Crane's Amazing Tennis * F-Zero[2] * Lethal Weapon * NCAA Basketball * Robocop 3 * Skins Game * Super Mario World[2] * Super Soccer * Super Tennis[2] I know you can play these games on a supernes emulator, so don't tell me that. I find it cool that you can play these supernes classic through mame. Several of them I testing worked, like actraiser and contra 3. The problem is I can't get 2 of the best games to work on the xbox versions of mame (F-zero and Super Mario world), and I'm not sure what the problem is. I get. I tried several different rom files from different sources but I get the same error messages on load. For Super Mario World I get the Message spc700.rom wrong checksums, a bunch of crc gibberish and another message saying mw.ic1 not found. For F-zero I get ths same spc700.rom error, the crc gibberish, and fz.ic1 not found. Has anyone got these two game running, and could help me out but pointing me in the right direction to fix it or to the correct files to run these games. PM me if needed. Too bad the emulation on these games is very slow.
  19. Cannon Dancer/Osman aka "the Strider sequel you've always hoped for." I don't believe this game works on xbox mame. "Forget the terrible Strider Returns. Forget the slightly disappointing Strider 2. Cannon Dancer is the game's true successor, a tightly-crafted adventure featuring fluid controls, beautiful futuristic graphics and an utterly inscrutable plot. Or that's what we hear tell, anyway; due to the game's excruciating rarity and below-the-radar profile (hardly anyone had heard of it before it appeared on a MAME compatibility list a couple of years ago), no one at 1UP has ever actually played the game. Hell, even everything-under-the-sun arcade resource KLOV doesn't have any info on it. Despite having been developed by a hefty chunk of Strider's creative team, Cannon Dancer was published by the tiny Mitchell rather than the mighty Capcom, and as such never saw release on a home system. And the arcade release, while apparently international, may as well have never existed. Even famously rare games like Panzer Dragoon Saga have at least been seen by people you know; not so with Cannon Dancer. If ever there were a game crying out for preservation and dissemination, this would be it. Because who doesn't love Strider? And who wouldn't want more Strider-like gameplay? Heartless monsters, that's who."
  20. Everyone has to look past there differences, and try to forget the past. Try to work together, be human enough to look past the things you said to each other in haste. Learn from your mistakes and grow. If you can do that it's shows you are growing as an individual. Sometimes it's the hardest thing to admit when you did something wrong, but you know deep down you did. Thanks for all your work, stick together on this. The xbox emu scene needs to stick together, or it will die and we won't see things that bring us all joy. Thanks for all your contributions, please look forward.
  21. I know where that is, infact I was just looking at those builds, did you make them yourself? You should make a build like I suggested with all the popular fighting franchises vs each other. How did you get them to load off the dvd, do you have a tutorial? How big is each build, I might just put them on a multi game disc menu.
  22. I did that already and it wouldn't even attempt to read the disc.
  23. I bought a dual layer dvd burner, the plextor 716a, and bought a Verbatim 8.5GB 2.4X DVD+R DL 20 Pack. I read this media works well with the xbox if you set the booktype to -r. I was all excited because now I could finally burn the several dvd9 xbox games out there. I was also excited about the possibility of being able to have larger and more complete emulator collections. So using IMGburn I loaded up Espn2k5 a dvd9 game, confirmed working, I set the booktype to -r and burned at 2.4x. Verified the disc. Popped the Nfl2k5 dvd into my dvd drive and it freezes at the sega logo, you can hear the dvd drive attempting to search or something. When you eject the disc it says "theres a problem with your disc your using, damaged or dirty. I then tried another game, Ralisport Challange 2, that game gives me a dirty disc error as the dvd drive attempts to load the dvd9 dl. I also tried copying the games to the hardrive using dvd2xbox and it fails to copy several of the files. Do you guys have any suggestions, other media, missing, different burning settings, different burning software, or is it probably my drive just can't read this type of media. So weird I heard samsung is the best drive and verbatim is the best media for dual layers. This sucks. My dream of a huge emu disc is ruined for now. With the same Media i was able to backup Yakuza 2 for the ps2, and it seems to work great.
  24. Hi does anyone know how to load Xmugen off the dvd. I had tried one tutorial and package that was supposed to allow you to play off the dvd, but the direction were poorly written, and I didn't get it to work. I'd appreciate it if someone could write up an easy too understand "noob" tutorial and include the needed files. Also, how can you change where xmugen installs the swap file? After seeing such great builds of arcade emulators here, it would be cool to see someone do the same for xmugen, for users like me who aren't great at making a build. It would be nice to see someone could make a build with a nice quality character set, none nudes, that loads off the dvd and/or hardrive. Many of the prebuilt Xmugen builds avalible or from the past have alot of crappy characters. Me, and I'm sure others would like to see a quality build of XMUGEN and not a build with tons of charactres in it. It would be nice to see a build that is made by someone who is knowlegable on the best stages and characters and screenpack. It would be awesome to see a mortal kombat vs snk, street fighter, marvel, etc... type pack. All the major fighters vs each other. I don't much enjoy the bloated xmugen builds people have made so far, Anyone agree that they would rather have quality over quanity? So can somene help me in loaded xmugen off the dvd, and is anyone nice enough to make a quality xmugen package for the community?
  25. Thanks I will have to try Mamex-b6. I had tried mameox 0.72 prior to your suggestion and still found the game to run with a noticeable frameskip. The annnouncer also echos and is slightly laggy. It's too bad that NBA JAM was never released in an Midway arcade collection on any system.
