  1. All the controls can be configured including the coin button. Not sure what you mean by "menu" button, but the button that starts the emulation menu can also be configured. Install Windows Media Encoder Then this will batch convert a directory of avi's to wmv. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YXB3T7GC Taken from here: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=660135
  2. They already have it. It's called FBL 1.1. You didn't give them anything new with my work. You didn't ask for my consent or even give me credit when you released it. You passed off the new drivers as if you did them. You have not apologized. You have not offered to remove them from CoinOPS. You are and always have been a cancer on the Xbox scene.
  3. It was created from FBL. Thus it uses the same code. It uses the latest version of FBA for the PC. I wouldn't call that outdated. You took only the games that were exclusive to Final Burn and Final Burn Legends. It is clear what your motive was. Just like it was clear what your motive was when you petitioned iq_132 for Tetris and Iron Clad the day after FBL 1.1 was released.
  4. No he's not kidding. He's dead on. Final Burn 1.1 has two cores. It has a Final Burn core and a Final Burn Alpha core. BP stole the Final Burn Alpha core. It is the exact core used in Final Burn Legends. Everyone should ask themselves how many new Xbox projects have been released in the last two years. The answer is zero. Now ask yourself how many I will be porting in the next two years? The answer is also zero. If someone wants to improve on Final Burn that's fine. Stealing it is not. BP does not have my consent. He can do what he wants, but it is the Xbox scene that will suffer. I won't be spending my time working so someone else can get the credit. You are just showing your ignorance. Here's a hint: I am an expert on my code. Turbo Outrun was not playable in Final Burn 0.517. It was only playable in FBA. If Turbo Outrun works in CoinOPS, it's because you used FBL. The person who coded the GUI was me. Not sure what you are implying.
  5. So that's your justification? "it is what it is"? You are stealing the work from an active developer (one of the only Xbox developers left) and passing it off as your work. Not to mention it's only been out 5 weeks and still being worked on, but "it is what it is"? Why should I (or any other developer) do any work for the Xbox community knowing you are just waiting to steal it? That was a very poor move on your part. I hope the Xbox community doesn't let you forget it.
  6. Always great to do all the work for FBL and have you come along and rip it off for your CoinOps hack. I'm sure GoGo likes the fact that you ripped off his Killer Instinct work too.
  7. Great I was waiting for this one to run on Coinops. I tried in FBL but wasn't working even romcenter say it's a good rom set. Then your ROM and dat file are both wrong. No. iq_132 is the man. He did all the work.
  8. Then your ROM and dat file are both wrong. Please read the first post or the documentation that is built into the emulator.
  9. I just played it in 1080i and it ran 60 FPS virtually the entire time. It was 60 FPS on the title screen and in game. The lowest it dropped was 58 FPS before immediately going back to 60. The attract mode emulates 2 players and the FPS does drop. All that means is two player doesn't run at 60 FPS but single player 100% does.
  10. Well, I would hardly call that an insult. That's so there aren't users who post "A Neo Geo game doesn't work" because they think that any game that doesn't start after 20 seconds must be broken. Delete the MS save for FBL 1.0 Change the button combo used to start the emulation menu. There are several presets to pick from. As far as updates go, unless there is something catastrophically wrong with 1.1, this is the last update. I will never say never, but I am 99% sure this is my last update to FBL and Xbox work in general.
  11. Final Burn Legends 1.1 What's new: -Added ability to select any Neo Geo BIOS. There are 23 different BIOS types supported. UniBIOS 2.3 is the default and recommended. This is saved per game, so if a user finds a game that the UniBIOS does not work well for they can change the BIOS for that game and it is saved separately. When a game starts the first thing that is displayed is the UniBIOS startup screen. Press A, B, and C (by default this is Xbox X, B, and A) to setup the BIOS. This is only needed once per game. The user can set the game to AES or MVS mode, change the region, and disable the hardware test (green screen). This will make games start a lot faster. During emulation, press P1 Start and P1 Coin to bring up the in-game BIOS settings. There is a great cheat database built in with codes for all games. -Added suport for Ironclad / Chotetsu Brikinger. The region must be set to USA or Japan or the game won't boot. When the UniBios 2.3 screen appears, press Xbox B + X + A to start the BIOS setup where you can change the region to USA or Japan. The default region is Europe so the game will not work if this step is skipped. -Fixed NVRAM saving for CPS2 games -Added option to overclock the 68K CPU used in many games. Games that use this CPU include CPS2, CPS2, Neo Geo, Cave, and others. Set it to 300% for games like Metal Slug 1, 2, ESP Rade and it will get rid of all slowdown. If any game that uses this CPU has slowdowns then increase the CPU speed and it may fix the issue. It also may cause bugs in the game. -Added alternate ways to display the in game emulation menu. This will be useful for players who use controllers without a right analog stick. The choices are: Right Analog Click Left Trigger + Right Trigger Back + Start Left Trigger + Back Right Trigger + Back -Added option to display all games, parents, or clones. This applies to the ROM browser and all filters. This does not apply to the Favorites list. -Added option to highlight parent sets. That way a user can browse all the games and quickly pick out a parent ROM. -Arcade images can now be viewed from the ROM browser. Select a game and press the Start button. The images go in: Control panel images - D:\Images\cpanel Marquee images - D:\Images\marquee Cabinet images - D:\Images\cabinet Flyer images - D:\Images\flyers In game screenshots - D:\Images\snap Title screenshots - D:\Images\title Press left and right on the D-Pad to go to the next or previous image. Use the left analog stick to move the image Use the right analog stick to zoom in or out. -The MAME history can now be viewed from the ROM Browser. Select a game and press the Back button -Added DIP switch settings to most games. This can cause problems for some games. Most of the time it works perfectly. -Added an option to disable DIP switches. If a game runs strangely, try disabling DIP switches. -Change the crashes error message to be more generic -Removed a few Genesis games that were causing the emulator to crash -Fixed a bug where the Option screen wasn't loaded when a PGM game ran out of memory or a ROM was invalid. -Fixed a bug where the Flicker Filter wasn't applied when a game started. I have no way to test this fix so if it is still broken please post in this thread. Try testing a Neo Geo Game, Toaplan, Psykio, Cave, CPS2, and Sega game to see if it works for all the different cores. -Added an option to disable Hiscore saving. Hiscore saving is disabled by default. This is on a per game basis. If a game works fine the first time it's played, but then has problems the next time, it may be because of the Hiscore saving. It can be found in the General Options menu. -Cleaned up the source so that all cores use the same GUI files -Added some defensive code to make the emulator more stable. Hopefully this will eliminate the random crashes when saving a screenshot, savestates, etc... -Fixed a bug that caused a corrupt ini file when the button A was pressed when there were no games -Fixed some bugs where the default controller setting wasn't used -Added an option to disable video previews. If you are not going to use them then disable this option. It will speed up the ROM browser -Added option to disable frame skipping. I can't think of one reason why anyone should do this since it will cause audio problems and slowdowns if a game can't run fullspeed. It is automatically disabled when it is not needed. Forcing it to be disabled all the time is not recommended. However, this was requested so I added it. -Fixed a bug where centered text wasn't always centered. -Disabled Neo Geo save states. These were too buggy and many games crashed the emulator. This may be related to memory problems with the PC port, my code, or something else. -Removed most of the debugging code. This should add a speed up. -Added an image viewer. -Fixed a bug where the Main Menu video would play after exiting a game. -Added the Main Menu video paths to the skin ini file. This way a user can create a skin that uses different videos and provide them with the skin. -Added Kenshiro's fixes for Neo Geo and Psykio: New Psykio games that now work: Gunbarich Mahjong G-Taste Tetris the Absolute The Grand Master 2 Tetris the Absolute The Grand Master 2 Plus NeoGeo fixes: Speed up a bit more loading time Reduce the amount of RAM on some P-X decrypting routines Get svcpcbnd working (need a special graphic routine for the 2 * 32Mo C-X) Remove the support for the PCB version of KOF2003. It will never work unless to rewrite completely the VMM support Added samsho4k: Pae Wang Jeon Seol / Legend of a Warrior (Korean censored Samurai Shodown IV) Added samsho2k: Saulabi Spirits / Jin Saulabi Tu Hon (Korean release of Samurai Shodown II) Added a function to select the bios you want. Unibios 2.3 is the default one. Fixed wrong name in mslug4nd set: 263-pg1.bin ---> should be 263-p1.bin Fixed game title of mslug3hd: Metal Slug 3 (not encrypted, decrypted C) ---> Metal Slug 3 (not encrypted, decrypted C) Various source cleanup -Added an updated cheat.dat file by neoryu The changes are: A “Select Background” option was added for these sets: ssf2 ssf2u ssf2xj ssf2t ssf2tur1 ssf2tu ssf2xj sfa sfau sfz sfzjr1 sfzjr2 sfz2al sfz2alj dstlk dstlku dstlkur1 vampj vampjr1 vampjr2 cybots cybotsj cybotsu msh mshj mshjr1 mshu vsav vsavj vsavu vsav2 An option to play as True M. Bison / Shin Vega was added for these sets: sfa3 sfa3u sfz3 sfz3jr1 The emulator did not see the cheats at all for these sets: sfz2al sfz2alj -This has been adjusted. The emulator did not see the “Select Character PL1 /Select Character PL2” cheat for these sets: sfa sfau sfzj sfzjr1 sfzjr2 sfz2al sfz2alj -This has been adjusted. I made many changes to the characters’ names for the Euro, Japan, and US romsets for all of the corresponding CPS2 fighting games. It makes it easier to apply a cheat pertaining to the correct character when you’re playing a game where the name difference matters for the cheat you select. For example, a Balrog cheat will be an M.Bison cheat if you’re playing a rom without corrected cheat names for the region it came from. For the parent Euro, US, and Japan CPS2 fighting games, this minor issue has been remedied. Notes: You will need to do a new install. You cannot use any previous CPS2 save states, nvram, or game settings. The safest way to upgrade is: 1) Delete the save file for FBL 1.0 2) Copy the FBL 1.1 folder to the Xbox 3) Copy your Roms and screenshots from the FBL 1.0 folder to the FBL 1.1 folder If you ignore this step and try to copy the new files over the FBL 1.0 directory, it will not work. To upgrade any of the new skins to work with FBL 1.1: 1) Open the ini file for the skin 2) Add these lines to the bottom: MovieEnabled=1 DisplayMode=2 HighlightParent=0 PauseGame=0 MainMenuMovieSwitchEnabled=1 MainMenuVideoPath0=D:\media\background1.xmv MainMenuVideoPath1=D:\media\background2.xmv MainMenuVideoPath2=D:\media\background3.xmv MainMenuVideoPath3=D:\media\background4.xmv MainMenuVideoPath4=D:\media\background5.xmv MainMenuVideoPath5=D:\media\background6.xmv Thanks: -Kenshiro for the code updates -neoryu for the updates to the cheat.dat -NEIL222 for the new icon -iq_132 for help with the CPU overclock -nonote for the Ironclad code -Anyone I forgot
  12. Totally unnecessary. The first post has the answer: An easy way to get only screenshots that Final Burn Legends supports is to download a complete MAME screenshot set. Put the screenshot.bat and FBA folder (from the tools folder) in that folder. Run the screenshot.bat file. It will copy any screenshots that Final Burn Legends supports to the FBA folder. Then copy those screenshots to the Xbox.
  13. You need to post more information. 1) Do they not show up in the list after rebuilding or do they fail to start? 2) Did you edit the Path.ini? 3) Are all the ROMs in one folder? 4) If you edited the Path.ini, you can't split parent ROMs from clones. Parents need to be in the same folder as the clones and vice versa. For example, mvsc.zip must be in the same folder as mvscu.zip if you want the mvscu.zip to show up in the ROMs list or work. 5) Are you 100% positive there are actual capcom games in the ROMs folder? A fresh install or deleting your save has nothing to do with what shows up in the ROMs list.
  14. Does the screen saver appear every time? Does it crash as soon as the screen saver disappears? If so, can you edit the ini and set the screen saver time to something like 30 (that will delay it by 30 minutes) and try it again? Can you delete your D:\config\mvsc.ini first before testing it again? If it still crashes, can you post a savestate? The screen saver doesn't appear in every case. I changed the screen saver time to 30 anyway just in case. What happens is, the crash message pops up as soon as the Staff Credits screen appears after killing Onslaught. This affects the parent rom only (mvsc.zip) and I've recently discovered that it happens with all characters, not just Strider. I deleted the config\mvsc.ini and it still crashes. I find it strange that the clones do not have this issue. I'll post a savestate if this info doesn't help, nes. Can you post a savestate?

  16. I think the problem was you didn't have a correct neogeo.zip or you didn't have the neogeo.zip with the other NeoGeo roms. I don't think it can be in a separate path. I could be wrong. That was my first thought also however I used romcenter to make sure my neo-geo file was correct, even added 3 missing items. It all worked with the same set simply by moving it to the default roms folder. Im really happy i've got it working never managed to build a romset successfully before This emualtor is great, thanks a lot nes I added art first of all then realised about the automatic dual pane thingy so added some vids as well. Looking very informative now so it is! Hooyar! What I mean is if you have half the Neo Geo games in one folder and half in another put the neogeo.zip file in each of them. On another note, I got Iron Clad working and it runs great.

  18. The PC version of FBA doesn't enable Hi scores for almost any games by default. The hi score can cause all types of problems. That's why MAME got rid of them. The graphics problem is because of the Hi Scores. You can do the save state trick to get around it until the next release. I can't reproduce the first issue. When you say you paused at the in game menu, do you mean the FBL one brought up by clicking the right thumb stick? Or some in game menu in the game? How long did you leave it at that menu? Did you have any cheat codes enabled?
  19. well first of all stick with kixxx 1.0 as its the best and newest one to use. are you playing the game with any hardware or software filters running in the game if so then turn them off as this does affect the speed of the game and it could very possible crash the emulator. Also there are some emulation issues with the PC version this was ported from. I know it affects the AI difficulty. Every time I get to Riptor I get decimated. Every single time. Of course, I might just stink at the game, but it seems harder than I remember in the arcades. I remember the author talking about that back in the day when that emulator first came out. He said the difficulty was unfair and was due to emulation inaccuracy.
  20. ummm....because you are not using a normal Xbox. Obviously my statement applied to normal Xboxes. Not 128MB 1.4 GHtz CPU Xboxes. But thanks for the info. That should work. I used RomCenter and that's what the dat is for, but I think it can be used in Clrmamepro. Turned on in the menu or turned off in the menu but actually enabled in the game? There is a bug where the flicker filter and soften settings don't get applied when the game starts. I've already fixed it in the next version. Strange. I don't understand. You pick Exit from the menu and the Xbox reboots and that game automatically starts? That shouldn't happen and it has never happened to me. The only things in the menu that night not work the first time is Reset, and Arcade Settings. Figure out a game where that happens and post or pm me your path.ini and the name of the game. I'll see if I can figure it out.
  21. FBL is not a "good" emulator. It's an unbelievably fantastic port of a fantastic PC emulator. It should be on anyone's Xbox who likes arcade games (how's that for modesty? =)). It's not perfect, but it's about as close as it can be on the Xbox. No one said you couldn't talk about "facts" or comparisons. Keep these points in mind: This thread is about moving "FBL forward" and nothing else. People do care about honest comparisons from veteran users to know what the best options are. This is not a CoinOps thread nor is it a place to compare or contrast CoinOps and FBL. This is a thread about FBL and I clearly put the things in the first post that I wanted people to post to help improve it. FBL is not MAME nor is it meant to compete with MAME. I am not interested in increasing compatibility in FBL beyond what the PC version supports. If I wanted to do that I would have just ported MAME. The only thing you seem to be interested in posting is what's wrong with FBL and how CoinOps is the answer. That's not necessary. Anyone can see how a game plays in each and determine which works better. In the end CoinOps is great. So is FBL. They both emulate certain games better than the other. They both should be on everyone's Xbox. Why can't people enjoy both? However, you feel so threatened by FBL you have been on a constant attack since it came out. You act like you've been trying to help improve it. That you are somehow a victim. Who am I supposed to have "real dialog" with? Isn't that what everyone has posted in this thread? This thread is full of "real dialog". You act like you are the answer to fixing problems in FBL. You're not. In many ways I am not. It's the FBA developers. This is a port. If it doesn't work correctly on the PC then it won't work here either. There's nothing I can do. There's nothing you or anyone else can do. No amount of "real dialog" will fix games that don't work on the PC. If you continue attacking FBL, then the latest MAME will be my next port. I have no interest in doing this, but you are motivating me with every post. How long do you think people will remember CoinOps with a port of the latest MAME with the GUI of FBL\ZsnexBox?
  22. It already works perfectly in Final Burn Legends
  23. Just an FYI Anyone can currently overclock any game they want right now. Every game saves a config to D:\config\games For example if you want to get rid of the slowdowns in all the Metal Slug games or E.S.P. Rade 1) Open the config file (D:\games\config\espradej.ini) 2) Change the line that says: cpu 0x0100 to cpu 0x0300 That changes the CPU speed from 100% to 300%. No more slowdowns. You can do that to any game that has the CPU speed listed in the ini file.
  24. Run or not, either way I assure you it won't be full speed unless you've got one of those fancy overclocked xboxes. warzard runs better in fbl than it does in cpx3 granted it still doesnt run fullspeed but it doesnt in cpx3 either. Can you tell me what the average FPS is on Street Fighter 3 (Video Options->FPS Enabled: True)? If it is decent, I might try to add support for CPS3 games.
