  1. ...this one is for the Action Platformer Genre (Contra, Castlevania, Sly Cooper, Mario, Sonic...) ...Do you think that this genre needs more Co-op? I remember sittin' down with friends playing Sonic (fly me up here tails!) and Contra (you take the spread...the lazer is MINE!) and havin' a blast...now many of them, while incorporating great controls (Sly Cooper...god damn he controlled like a dream...) are becoming a bunch of solo missions, so to speak. Wouldn't you like to play with friends at games like this, instead of sittin' there watching and waiting for the inevetable f--ck up so it'll be your turn?
  2. Is Chop n Screw still going strong down there? I left Houston like...last month (thank HEAVENS!!!)...just wondering since you mentioned swisha house...I heard of them back when I went to High School (Hastings...Alief Justice bizzneeotch!)
  3. I'm gonna have to say my all time Top Tier Music Genre is Digital Hardcore...simply 'cause its so f--ckin' undefinable...which makes it unusually versatile... + Highly Aggresive and in your face (Atari Teenage Riot, Bomb 20, The Shizit, Schizoid, Ronin, Hansel) + Silly but pumpin'...harder than that "Rave" Bullsh--t (Bureau de Change, Lolita Storm, Shizuo, EC8OR) + Somethin' with atmosphere to it (Unitus, Cheap Czad, Christoph de Babalon, Replicant Impulse, Nic Endo [Preferably, her most recent album: Cold Metal Perfection {yup...got the name from astro boy/the mighty atom}] Venom 8888, TRS-80) + Just F--cking Insanity (Zymotic, Stuntrock, Heartworm, Asure, John Merricks Project, Contra, CPU WAR + The f--cking MAN (Alec Empire) ...Yeah...Check out some Digital Hardcore...but beware...it ain't for everyone (I know VERY FEW people who have any knowledge on it...) I also like a bunch of other random sh--t...but above this...is my favorite genre...
  4. I agree, that was a great (and pretty) setting for such a violent fight. And the white snow made the blood look even more...gorey and intense. Also, in my previous post I said I wanted a background with water, something peaceful and tranquil. Another example is of that guy's for MOTW. You know, that guy who is on Kof2k3. You know who I mean. Yes, I can't remember his name... Gato...his name is Gato...and yeah...his stage was nice...but not my kind of place to have a fight...
  5. ...Think, for a second...You're a character in a fighting game (any kind of Fighting Game)... ...What kind of background (as in...the location you choose to have your fight) would you have and why?
  6. ...I had this crazy idea at work...I wanna host a tournament...this tournament shall be called "Spamurai Showdown 2004!!!" ...The Entries: 1 - To enter, post here and put "Entry" in bold letters in your post 2 - The first 8 people to respond to this thread (with "Entry" in bold) will be the contestants ...The Rules: 1 - Once you become an entrant, hunt for 5 funny as hell pics...your 5 will go against another entrants 5, and everyone else will vote on who's set is funnier (no photoshoping allowed...yet) 2 - The winners of the preliminaries shall move on to the semi finals, in which you will then have to find 3 funny as hell pics, but this time you may photoshop only ONE of them, and indicate which one is the photoshopped one 3 - The last 2 winners will face off in the Finals, in which you will find 1 new funny as hell pic and photoshop it to make it funnier... 4 - The winner will get an all new "Champion Funny Mother F--cker" Sig made by me for you to use... 5 - The Champion Funny Mother F--cker will own us all... ...So...who wants in?
  7. Hahaha...there's this site called GBAMod.com or something...check it out...its like these skin things you can buy for your GBA and GBASP...there's some Tila Nguyen ones there...
  8. Axl? These are Riot.EXE's threads....and yes, a description would be nice and not just "Hot Question #". whoops, sorry axl and riot, my mind must have been elsewhere Its a series...thats why I keep calling it that...you know...consistency...
  9. Michelle Rodriguez (Girlfight, 3 A.M., Resident Evil) - I love her characters (although I haven't seen Blue Crush or SWAT...and her role in The Fast and the Furious was a waste...) Debi Mazar (Empire Records, The House on Haunted Hill [all her scenes were deleted though...grrr], Batman Forever [she was Spice]) - Her accent is all kinds of cute, and her eyes own you all!
  10. basically...you're the most insured with chipp...since he has a triple jump...but whatever you do...don't jump OVER her...the orbs will turn around and MAIM you!...with the Wide Spread pattern...just walk right up to her and jump straight up when the targeting (romantic) disappears... with the upwards curve pattern...stay in the rear corner and duck for insurance... with the wavelength pattern...walk under the arc as it moves...then duck when it stops...try to time a trip move, or a super when she ceases that attack, since you wind up close to her...
  11. This one is for the Action/Adventure Genre (Devil May Cry, Tomb Raider, P.N. O3, The Zelda Series, and such...) ...My question to you all is what do you think there should be more of in these games? Should there be more action, or more exploration? Or maybe more of something else?
  12. Hahahahaha... Sorry, Its just that I find it funny that you call SPIKEOUT your favorite 3D Beat-Em-Up, when it isn't even CLOSE to being released. Anon. Spike Out sure is taking its dear sweet time...I remember reading about it AND seeing screens for it LONG ago...and its sequel, Slash Out (if memory serves) which was midievel-ish...
  13. Well sh--t man...if I stopped calling it "hot question", it would defeat the purpose of the series...
  14. who knows what its there for...sometimes she had two of them...it depends on what game you're playing that has her in it...
  15. ...Yeah...I never really saw people play shoot 'em ups in the arcades...last one I did see was some chick playing Mars Matrix on a Naomi Cabinet back in houston... ...Dreamcast in Japan is still getting games...I remember a new shoot 'em up on it called "Border Down"...look it up, and check it out... ...Maybe this can be attributed to the death of the arcade...such a shame... ...as for your reccomendation..I'll probably do only s couple a week or something...but its not like people can't go back and forth with whats already here, right?
  16. This project is a between Noise Factory, SNK Playmore and Sammy. They took out the NEST Saga characters execpt Kula and replaced them with Shingo and Syshu. Hey...if Noise Factory is helping develop this, then I'm pretty sure this will be good...they pulled off some great things on the Neo Geo MVS with Rage of the Dragons, Sengoku 3, and Power Instinct: Matrimelee (synching up song lyrics with the background animation...and they managed to pull off DEATH METAL and damn near perfect sound on such an old console...c'mon now? hope for the best!)
  17. ...This one goes to the Shoot 'em Up genre...(Gradius, Ikaruga, Einhander and the such...) ...Do you think that Shoot 'em ups are a dying breed? What could keep them alive, if that is the case? What did you always like about them?
  18. By The Way... ...my Top 3 favorite Brawlers... 1 - Streets of Rage 3 (great soundtrack and combos) 2 - Battle Circuit (Capcom makes a damn fun brawler, but it never got here) 3 - D&D: Shadow over Mystara (Plenty of different paths and weapons, making for great replay value)
  19. ...The Dash has a point...Brawlers dominated the arcade at one point...and if you all remember...Die Hard Arcade/Dynamite Deka wasn't a bad 3-D brawler at all...although I heard the sequel wasn't as good... ...maybe if Developers look at the possibilities of going online with Brawlers...then maybe they will regain the interests of the old school players, and bring forth a new legion of brawler players...I think an MMOB would be the best way to go...2-d, 3-d, or hybrid... what do you all think?
  20. Basically, the frontside on the right, the backside on the left...yes that would be a good alternative...
  21. Yes...Sengoku 3 was a GREAT brawler...but its too bad it wasn't in arcades much (as far as i know) so I doubt its THAT well known...maybe its the start of the true ressurection ('cause 3-D doesn't quite have it yet...The Bouncer needed a bit of work and Fighting Force was just bleh)
  22. In a 2-D fighter, because "Maximum" was written with all symmetrical letters vertically helped it stay "Maximum" when facing either direction, but if it was horizontal...it would read "Maximum" when facing right, and "Mumixam" when facing left...but had it been a 3-d fighter...that wouldn't be a problem because of real rotation rather than flipping ...get what i'm saying?
  23. ...This question is for the now-dead (apparently) Brawler genre...games like the Streets of Rage series, The Arcade X-Men (6 player cabinet all the way), and Final Fight and the such...What do you think killed them, and what could bring the good co-op play genre back to a good light?
  24. Ok...time for my 2 cents... ...I personally think that the story and battle system go hand in hand...I mean...its a given that a story should be good, but who wants to play a movie? The Battle system in an RPG should fix that...and allow you to see the characters true potential, in the heat of battle...to me, thats what made me really give a sh--t about characters in RPG's, and helped the story become more enjoyable...every character had his or her own thing, and you cared just as much for those characters when fighting, as you did during events... ...Final Fantasy 7 (the game that created the chaotic inflated ego of square...but thats another story) proved that you can indeed screw this up...because the Materia system did just that. Don't get me wrong, it was a good idea, but it was used in the wrong genre...in an RPG, there shouldn't be THAT much freedom with the characters, in terms of abilities, because it ruins the importance of the characters in the storyline. If anyone can do anything, why does it matter if someone gets offed in the storyline, nothing is lost (except a limit break) because you could just as easily give what the now dead character had to someone else. Also...given the proper Materia...it was REALLY friggin' hard to die, which killed the challenge of battling...and killed any excitement in the process... ...so in my opinion, In order to have an enjoyable experience, the battle must show the characters abilities and traits just as much as the actual story should... (note: I also wrote something new in my first "hot question" post...check it out!)
  25. ...I play for the challenge...What matters to me more than anything. is a damn good fight. Its no fun if its someone too weak, or someone too strong...(or in some cases, someone too god damned cheap). As long as My opponent, as well as myself, gave the fight its all, I could care less if I won or lost...
