What happens with standard MAME?

When I left-shift+F7 quickload my saved game state on Gun.Smoke in v0.280.0 the game loads incorrectly with the sprites appearing off-screen and staying invisible during game play. Reverting back to 0.279.0 and the problem goes away.
-
Not sure tbh but I still have a .txt file from 2007 in my MAME downloads folder that fixed the UP/DOWN issue which was changed to LEFT/RIGHT but the numbers are the same as what I see in your post. Perhaps you need to check all your config files to be sure the settings are correct. ui_joy_up 1,1,1,1 ui_joy_down 1,1,1,2 ui_joy_left 1,1,2,1 ui_joy_right 1,1,2,2

MAMEUI64 0.280.0 has been released. Available at https://messui.1emulation.com References to "SW Files" have been changed to "Loose SW", which is the more commonly known name.

I don't have a joystick or controller, so the functionality has never been tested. I don't know what the numbers mean either. But maybe someone else here knows more.

Hi, everyone! I was wondering if this was possible, using a joystick to move around in the UI (not in games, that works just fine). The only thing I can do is start a game by pressing one the buttons on my joystick, but I can't -for the life of me- figure out how to move up/down on the list with my joystick. I've tried playing around with the values here: ui_joy_down 1,1,1,2 ui_joy_end 0,0,0,0 ui_joy_exec 0,0,0,0 ui_joy_history_down 2,0,1,0 ui_joy_history_up 2,0,4,0 ui_joy_home 0,0,0,0 ui_joy_left 1,1,2,1 ui_joy_pgdwn 2,1,2,2 ui_joy_pgup 2,1,2,1 ui_joy_right 1,1,2,2 ui_joy_ss_change 2,0,3,0 ui_joy_start 1,0,1,0 ui_joy_up 1,1,1,1 but nothing works, as I really don't know what each number means... I remember asking this several years ago at mameworld forums, but I didn't get anywhere either... any help would be very appreciated regards!

Is it possible to provide compile instructions for HBMAME (no UI) for macOS? Could you also write on your website the compile instructions for windows xp?

Super Bug Advance 1.31 (Game Boy Advance): 11 August 2025 This is "Super Bug Advance" aka "GBAArcadia": a port of a subset of the Ami/WinArcadia 34.73 emulator to the Nintendo Game Boy Advance platform, for the purpose of emulating the Super Bug 1 & 2 and Capture games. The emulator has been optimized for speed and size. The emulation is not as comprehensive as that provided by Ami/WinArcadia, but everything needed for adequate emulation of the included games is present. Features could be added back in from Ami/WinArcadia if desired, to enable support of other games. The program was written in C using devkitPro 62. Source code is included. It was tested on VisualBoyAdvance-M 2.2.2. Changes since V1.3: Summary: * Miscellaneous improvements and bug fixes. Details: ported from visual ham to devkitpro. removed autofire support (not very useful and confusing for most users); now button B is the same as button A. now either L or R can be used to pause, and holding both down will change games. improved noise emulation. fixed: some CPU instructions were setting flags wrongly. http://amigan.1emu.net/releases/ http://amigan.yatho.com

No. Any version of MAME can produce a dump. A debug build switches on various internal checks, such as "assert".
-
Hi Would you be interested in adding a search textbox for the SW Items ? It would be a VERY useful feature. Right now, there is no way to search the SW Items, while there can be thousands of them. You can just add a new search textbox in the SW Items tab and clone the existing behavior of the search textbox for the machines list and apply it to the SW Items list's textbox. https://ibb.co/YTWXmTy4
-
Does this also mean the MAMEUI executable is a debug EXE (and not a release EXE)?
-
MAME, WOLFMAME AND MAMEUI 0.279 32bit available (Xp compatible). Download from: RETRODANUART MAME XP

Most people don't need it. See: Basically, if it crashes you can get symbols (where it crashed) instead of numbers in the crash dump.
-
Hi There is a big file called mameui.sym included with MAMEUI. What is this file for? If I delete it, everything seems to work.
-
These things are no longer possible with compiler versions after 10.1 . However you can indent clones with View -> Indent Clones.
