Hello @Robert

I noticed machine renames in this release, eg "dinos" => "dino" without leading zeros.

I was renaming my snaps, just wanted to check these renames are permanent, its not an intermediate thing or something?

It's supposed to be permanent, although I do sometimes make on-the-fly changes which weren't planned beforehand.

Basically the "s" will be removed, unless the last character of the parent was numeric.

So "dino44", or "sengoku2s01" . If there's hundreds of clones, then there could be leading zeros added, so "dino044" for example.
