L.S.D Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 I would rather ban worry then wallet worry Ban will lead me to purchase another console which cause a bigger dent to my wallet. So, yeah, PS3 would be more economical for me in the long run since Consoles are not cheap here! The latest ban wave disabled a lot. Anyone who knows me knows that I tell the truth but yes, I am pro-Sony for obvious reasons. I'll list what the ban does to your console... 1. Cannot install games to the HDD2. Disables all media server access (you cannot stream anything to your 360)3. In terms of achievements, you cannot play games on your banned 360, remove the HDD and load up those achievements onto your Live! enabled 360. Your gamertag will sync with data from before you were banned. The first two are features provided through software updates for your console or are already inherently there when the 360 was first released. These features should NOT be taken away from gamers, only the ability to connect to XBOX Live!. M$ taking away features you paid for is just asking for a lawsuit. They will win the lawsuits. You are not supposed to mod your X360 in the 1st place!

You are not supposed to mod your X360 in the 1st place! You miss the point... Ok, I'll see if I can make this as simple as possible. If you're getting free cable and a cable company finds out, what do they do? Shut your cable off. They don't take your VCR/DVD Player/Blu-Ray Player with them. People payed for the basic feature of streaming movies they own to the XBOX 360. If you didn't buy Live! in the first place, you would still have this feature. Taking away basic offline features of the console you bought via hacking your system is against the law. Right now many legitimate XBOX 360 owners were banned during their glee spree, these people have EVERY right to sue M$ for not only taking away console feature that do not require a Live! subscription, but also for falsely accusing them of pirating. Even users who modified their console have a case here. It's like saying 'It's not your XBOX 360, so we can do whatever we want to it.'. Get it now?
Inky Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Inky and Skythe are secretly in love. I could never give my heart to anyone but you

Inky Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I finally got around to testing Tversity with a banned console and it works fine. so media streaming and Divx support is no problem.
Shibathedog Posted November 24, 2009 Author Posted November 24, 2009 Why do people keep saying that a PS3 is more economical compared to a modded 360? This makes no sense, Can you play copied games on the PS3 now? Apparently you can't get banned for it if you can? It seems like sony could ban you if they want to if this is the case and I wouldn't count on staying safe for too long.
Inky Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 you can't play copied games on PS3. it's not hacked in any way.

It seems like sony could ban you if they want to if this is the case and I wouldn't count on staying safe for too long. This is how I count (forgive me if I use my currency) This is what I purchased in the past:1 modded X360 Elite - RM2200About 1 yrs of XBOX Live (i am buying a 3-months package) - RM 36012 original X360 games - RM 150 average per game - RM 18001 modded X360 Jasper Pro after my X360 Elite RROD beyond repair - RM 14001 Madcatz TE for X360 - RM790 (which KOed on me in one month)DLCs (3 DLCs for Fallout 3, Oblivion DLCs, SFIV DLCs, SCIV DLCs, KOF98UM, MOTW, FFS) - I put it at RM600Numerous pirated games at RM10 a piece (i have about 200 i think, of which about 5 - 6 i played regularly) - RM2000 Total X360 gaming cost to me in less than 2 yrs: RM 9150 For PS3:1 PS3 Slim - RM1180 Online - freeDLC - Tekken 5 DR onllne - RM80Games - numbering at 10 at the moment - RM1350 (some I buy used)Going to get an HRAP SA tomorrow - RM650 Total PS3 gaming cost to me so far: RM 3260 So far, i have been very careful with the games i bought. I will really research it out and see which one is more suitable, which one I will play for a long time. So far so good, only traded off some games that i can't get into like Killzone 2 and LBP. The saving will come from buying less games and free online. P/S: After all my calculations, i found that i spend a lot on gaming
Inky Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 3 years of modded 360 goodness has cost me350 for the console, modded my self.100 for 2 years of live. about 80 bucks a year on discs.thats it. just over 500 bucks to play just about every game that's come out in the last 4 years. extra controllers, wifi dongles, remotes, headsets, blah blah are secondary, I don't count that as cost of owning a console. hell, Live is pretty secondary IMO. 2 years of live and I prolly only played about 40 hours of multiplayer games. It's just not appealing to me.
