BlackKnight Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 I'm talking about the gameplay, what makes it so unrealistic?I thought you were joking. The art style is cartoon-y.There's no blood.Ninja characters can do 'magic'.Most of the fighting styles are represented poorly / made up altogether.Incredible strength of the stick-skinny female characters.Excessive violence, smashing through walls etc. There's a T-Rex ffs. You could say a few of those things carry over to Tekken or VF or whatever, but not all of them.
Devia Eleven Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 In that particular instance, the same could be said about many other fighting games. Name a fighting game that is considered as realistic.

Name a fighting game that is considered as realistic.Virtua Fighter. Apart from a statue boss, what's unrealistic there? Also both Tekken and VF attempt to make it look like real people are fighting, not dolls.
L.S.D Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 VF has the most realistic fighting mechanic. The moves are move believable and you can actually believe that those moves can be performed in real life. Of cos those air juggles are still logic defying

Shoma Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 dont forget the amazing ability to re-plow someone into the air when they're on the ground...I've seen that done many times in school fights...
Devia Eleven Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 While you are finding things that are unrealistic in fighting games, things can be said about many other fighting games, I would say the majority of all of them.

Obviously. But there is virtually nothing realistic about DOA, the designers knowledge of martial arts is VERY questionable if not down right retarded.
